Wow Wendy, what a story! You know that after falling off of a cliff and living to tell the story, there’s gotta be a Montblanc in your collection one day. I‘m so glad that you‘re still here with us and a part of this wonderful community! I thoroughly enjoyed your unique approach to the 8 pen questions and I joined your channel today. Thank you!
I’m so happy right now! As someone who has been on the recovery road with you from Day 1, I am so proud of you for taking a desperate situation and turning it into a learning journey. As always, with EVERY hobby, you have taken a casual interest and put your whole self into it to become an expert! You have brought fountain pen joy back into my own life, and I am blessed to be on this ride with you. 💜💜💜
Ok I made it further in - WOW. Thank you for sharing your experiences ... I am blown away. So glad you're here, getting to have fun with pens and inks and tidbits.
Isn't that the most bananas thing? I can't believe it happened and I was there!! And then, I got a second fracture in the same leg on Christmas. But whatever, I lived!
I. Love. This. So. Much! My fave was "nunya", Whoa (heehee). But on a serious note...I'm happy you found your way to JOY after your accident and that your pen experiences have helped with healing and light you up so much. And can I just say I love how you expressed yourself and the format you used for this tag. I waited with bated breath at each page turn to see what would come next. Brilliant! So glad you're a part of the pen hobby that we all thoroughly enjoy! Mwah! 🥰 And oh yeh...thanks for that pen hack. What???!!!
@@FountainPenNews Always. Getting a kick out of watching you as well. And I say…bring on the extra!! I’m here for it. Btw, my hubs call me contrarian. I’m all about embracing that! Being diff is good. 😊
I loved how you presented your video…very well done. And thank you for sharing your story with us. Your accident, your recovery, and your fountain pen journey. Loved it ❤❤❤
Thank you! Someday I'll do a video about the whole, whole story. It is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. I still can't even believe it happened the way it did. Thanks for watching!
I’ve been down a rabbit hole today with this hashtag and yours by far has been my favourite ❤ thank you for sharing!! and for a newb to know, life is too short to persist with an ink you are not enjoying, toss that shit down the sink!! 😂
Aw thank you so much!! It was so fun to put together. If I can ever do anything for you or answer questions, I'm always here to help! I wish I'd had pen friends back when I started. :)
Thanks for sharing your FP journey. I am so sorry about your hiking fall! I was amazed by your ability to pull yourself back up, and am so grateful that your daughter was there to help you 💜 I totally feel you on the 'expensive taste' concept, I have found myself being able to justify the price a lot easier the further I am into my FP journey 😂
Thank you! I guess I now know the answer to the question "how many pull-ups can you do?" answer: exactly one. My tastes went from "I'd never pay TWENTY DOLLARS for a fountain pen." to way beyond that pretty quickly. Ha ha
Wendi Sue, oh my word! Thank you for sharing your fountain pen and healing journey! I am so glad to hear your voice and watch this video to learn more about your relationship with this beautiful hobby. I hope that this thriving pursuit of yours is indication of your continued healing as well.
Love your voice. And, what a recovery story. I have to admit at times I wasn't paying attention, and had to go back and rehear what you said, because I was thinking, she fell off a cliff. Great video, and your story was a real page turner.
Thank you so much! It has been the craziest experience. I have been thinking about doing a video telling the whole story. I think it would be good to document it all. It's funny, a lot of people comment on my voice. I actually majored I in opera in colkege so I guess it has paid off with my speaking voice, too! Thanks for watching!
I loved how you formatted this video like a flip through! It felt like a very cozy story time. 🥰 I hadn’t heard the full story of your accident (I can’t imagine how much strength it must have taken to pull yourself up from where you fell!). I’m so glad that you’re okay now. 💗 I also love that you threw in the recency bias… it’s so true for me, too! Hope you’re having a great week, Wendi!
Thank you! I was so inspired by so many people who came before me, including you! I have to say, the WHOLE story of the accident is utterly bananas and it will make anyone believe in guardian angels. I'm going to do a video about it sometime. Here's the thing about pulling myself up. I remember thinking "oh no, i have to pull myself up." and then I remember being on the ledge, but I don't actually remember pulling myself up. Guardian angels and adrenaline. ha ha. I guess the answer to "how many pull ups can you do?" is obvious for me. Exactly one. And I never want to have to do it again! Appreciate you and your friendship so much!
So great to hear your story and love your answer to number 7 so much! The flip through was a fantastic idea! Plus you have the loveliest voice on RUclips.
Awww, aren't you sweet? Thank you! I am trying to not talk at 200mph like I normally do. My nephew put one of my videos on 2x and said "yeah, that's more like you in real life." ha ha ha!
I enjoed the format and the sound of pages being flipped. And it was lovely hearing you speak about collaboratin on grinding your nibs, I've never done it before so I'm curious about it
It's so great to hear your story - of recovery and pens! Your accident story is why I am so careful when hiking, because I almost invariably go alone. I know it's risky, but... at least I have a cell phone? Heh. I love your thoughts on grail pens, perhaps because they are much like my own. 🤣
I was so happy to hear your thoughts about grail pen. It made me feel better about expressing my feelings about it! My fall is so crazy. Sometime, I am going to post a video telling the whole, whole story. Because it's nuts. Yes, your cell phone is good. But also consider an emergency beacon. My phone fell out of my pocket but luckily landed near where I pulled myself up to. The other thing I will say is, I have done the hike where I fell probably close to 100 times in my life. I was distracted and in a rush, and it got me. A friend of mine said "you know, sometimes the familiar path will get us" and it's so true. In hiking and in life.
@@FountainPenNewsThis is absolutely true. I fell two years ago going down the two steps into my garage -- something I've done at least four times a day for almost 30 years, because that's how I let my dogs out. Totally rushing and not paying attention at all. I broke my neck and my wrist and will never recover all of my physical abilities. Like you, I'm grateful it wasn't worse, as I could have been paralyzed if the break had been slightly different. But now I try to pay attention to where my feet are!
I loved this format of video, thanks for sharing it! I'm scared to say my secret..... I don't watch ink swatching videos anymore, I haven't in many months ...😬
I never thought of doing a video this way. Nice format. I wish I'd done my ink video this way! I just ordered some pilot parallels so appreciate the benu/parallel tip. #inkalchemist So glad you joined the tag!!
I love how creative you were in telling your story. And lol at your tastes getting more expensive over time.😊
I know! I went from "I would never spend TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS on a fountain pen!" to "another pro gear slim is a great idea!" really quickly!
