    It's great fun playing along with these after the fact. I can usually get the part done faster but that's with the benefit of having seen the part already and having a few days to think of how I would do them. The fact that Victor and Ivan were as fast as they were on the first time seeing the part, PLUS the added pressure of it being a race, is what really sets those guys apart. Experience with their software and experience with how to be efficient and accurate with complex features is what won the tournament this year. Those guys are amazing.

    Amazing matches. I was routing for Ivan and I think that on design skills he was faster, he lost because of keyboard skills. I guess everything is necessary.
    But what a show! Amazing!

    Awesome show Toby! From the presenters, to the interface and games - you smashed it! As a SW/Blender cad designer and first timer to your channel, it was right up my street. @KirbyDowney sent me your link and now you have a sub! Looking forward to the next one.

    You should look at the world skills, mechanical engineering:cad it’s the olympics of the working world skills. It’s pretty exciting and I’m competing for the nationals on Tuesday.

    At 2:57:50 you mentioned that the sketches in Solidworks get absorbed into the features, but not in OnShape. If you really want that functionality you can toggle "Show Flat Tree View" .
    I can see the benefit when working with less complex parts, but beyond a certain point it could get quite busy (unless you rename every sketch to identify what it is I guess) .

      that's a great tip and using flat tree view is super helpful when you have a complex sweep or loft and you want to diagnose the true rebuild order. Good stuff! Thanks!!

    Result depends on the Loft - use Guide Curves or not, from the drawing it is not clear. 1660.902gr (guided) vs 1666.740 gr (NO guided) - both answers are correct. Please use right drawing in next time.

    I got the correct mass on the super mount on the first try but not sure on the time. Tough part. really had to think on that one.

    @tootalltoby Hi, I'm from india im wondering how Ivan likes Orange colour and he incorporated into every feature preview would love to know how to tweak into my solidworks.Cheers.

    • @TooTallToby
      @TooTallToby  8 месяцев назад

      nice - I think orange is the default color of the DYNAMIC PREVIEW - but if you look in system options / colors - you can change the DYNAMIC HIGHLIGHT color too!
