Track sinking. Nice maintenance. Is that all your investors can do, delay maintenance for their ROI?

Needham ma industrial park had a bunch of sidings. Theyre all long abandoned. I think they connected to the bay colony line that went from newton to medfield through needham and dover.

I used to work in Newton and we took delivery of plastic resin via the Needham line that crossed 128 and crossed Needham St in Upper Falls that crosses back over the River back to the Industrial Park. They took out the overpass in the upgrade to Needham St and 128 and all they is abandoned now . Not sure if the tracks have been pulled or not but it’s all isolated at any rate

Man those rails will eventually sink low enough to cause a derail... looks like nothing but hope and good wishes keeping the track in place....

I worked in that industrial park for about 4 & 1/2 years back in the 1990’s, Mike. Looks like that first shot you took was on the stretch that parallels I-495 northbound for a bit; I was wondering if that track was still active. Glad to see that it is, but also noticed the rails virtually sinking into the ground under the weight of the train just past the grade crossing. I’m curious, do you know who the rail customer is?
    😊 Tom

Zayre was the consignee in the 70s. When they went belly up no one else moved in.

There’s 3 or 4 different customers within the industrial park and sidings/room for many more customers if ever needed.

@@SouthCoastRailVideos Again memory fades but first off the mainline was a company that made cartons for frozen foods, past first crossing on right was Toys R Us, way up the hill was Sun Chemical which was a Japanese company that made inks for newspapers etc. We called it "rising sun" account of being Japanese. Before going up the hill the track to the right went to Champion Lumber. Before crossing to Champion we used to leave subway cars for finishing for the Red Line in Boston. There were two or three at most other sparsely used sidings. On the other side of 495 Chrysler used to get auto parts.Maybe two other sidings.
