- Season 5 of Outlander is finally here ending the long droughtlander. Many beautiful moments in this first episode but for me the main ones were Brianna's wedding and Murtagh leaving. Jamie has to again face both joy and grief all at once.

It's been a long time but my life has been quite busy yet I could not not celebrate the end of Droughtlander. So here is a quick little video about S05E01. Of course, loving Murtagh, I couldn't pass on this bittersweet separation. Jamie's happiness has always to be tainted somehow. Let's hope all will be well for those two.

Sorry i forgot to just say great video! Your Outlander vids always are. This episode really gave us a lot (and it was a spot on Valentine's Day show)..including... yes they went there....intercut sex scenes with 3 generations at (or near)the Ridge. Contrasting Couples. Anybody else think it was hilare that Lord John drank everyone else under the table? But the Cross scene in the kilt was EPIC. Sam's best acting (wearing the kilt made him better)...and he blows the fealty oath out of the water. (Remember his Uncle Collum doing that in the 3rd episode of the series? It was lame.) And yes, the Jamie/Murtagh scene was touching. But....Murtagh implied that...something about going through the stones to further in the past to "fix things" right?

There are such good actors in this show, but I'm always always impressed by Sam. He just gives everything to the moment, so believable, he draws you in to the emotion of the scene.
I don’t know how Sam did this on cue, but when Jamie and Murtagh part in the woods, that tear that falls straight to the ground from Jamie’s eyes, absolutely kills me! A tiny detail showing how much emotion was overflowing within him.
For those of us that have been on this journey since season 1, this first episode of season 5 was fantastic! Moving and touching, along with some anticipation of what's coming next for the people of Fraser's Ridge!
This is absolutely beautiful and the back and forth from the past to the present was so touching. Lovely choice of music too. Thank you.

There is no way Murtagh is going to separate himself from Jamie. He will go because he knows the position that Jamie has been put in, so he will do what Jamie wants, get lost with the regulators, FOR NOW. But he will be back. He also made that promise to Ellen??? And she's still watching. Loved the show, especially the little clip of Jamie and Claires wedding. Was hoping they would do that. Those were some outfits they had on. Gorgeous. The only sad thing about that was at that time Claire wasn't happy. It would be neat if they had a do-over on their 25th Anniversary next year. I know it's not in the books but that would be something. They have been taking liberties with the written pages, so why couldn't they do that.
A beautiful episode, I cried with jamie at the end.
I hate to say this but other than the scene between Jamie,and Murtagh I was let down by this episode..I have this gut feeling that the "Outlander" many has came to love is now gone..Jamie and Claire was what made this happen,and I personally cannot warm up to Briana and Roger..Which is where this will now be focusing on maybe I am wrong but they spent almost an hour on the wedding that was putting me to sleep at times..I truly hope I am not right but it just didn't have the same flair that the other season openings had in my opinion..

Jamie has basically said that when the war actually begins, he's pretty much going to turn on the Governor....but in the meanwhile, keeping Murtagh safe will be a challenge.

One of the saddest scenes of Outlander aside from Jamie making Claire return to her time for safety.
one of my favourite moments in the show was marsali's performance with the tongue twister. Lauren Lyle showed real character and great acting, plus an ability to command the star spotlight when she did this. It was very impressive.
I love Marsali and Fergus, two very interesting characters very well embodied by the actors. If I'm honest, I often would rather watch them than Brianna and Roger.

Another very well done summary of season five episode one. While so much of this was about Jamie, his family, and all that he’s accomplished, also it’s about Jamie and Murtaugh‘s relationship. With the governor at the wedding we get the premonition of the problems to come ! HAPPY AND SAD at the same time.
Cried my eyes out when he told murtagh to go , to keep him safe . I love the Frasers and Murtagh.❤

Honestly...it was so touching and the wedding was awesome! I actually cried and I don´t usually cry in weddings :,) When Brianna heard the bad news about that awful Bonnet...I was so pissed!! But I did see that coming ;( But the episode was amazing....loved it.

You should definitely give it a try. Romance, history, battlefield, loyalty, great cast, a lavish production in Scotland with gorgeous costumes ... There is something for everyone.

Jamie's mom's pearls....when he gave them to Claire it was one long strand, but for Brianna's wedding the pearls were a double strand with clasp. ?
Why do you folk have background music that drowns out the dialog so badly you can't tell what's being said? This would otherwise be a great preview video.

I'll give them one, so Jamie's kilt wearing days aren't over, giving away Brianna was bittersweet, that Jamie's babysitting skills are hilarious, Roger serenading bride w/modern song & sequence surrounding it w/capsule of various love stories (luv Lord John's smile at end) but Jamie's love/loyalty for Godfather & Family will drive season 5, Lord help the Brits

I couldn’t get over how bad Claire’s hair looked. It was just awful.
And here I thought it was an improvement over last season where she always looked disheveled 😂 They're trying to make her look older through her hair I think.
