Need get back there, thanks so much for sharing. Our only visit was 40 years ago, the gate was open and we drove to t lochan at 4:00. There were a few folks around but between us walking up the beach and back an otter tabogganed down the dunes and went into the sea.
Brilliant Linda😍..It’s a place I’ve always wanted to camp at..Defo going to do it at some point..It looks so amazing. Assynt is such a magical are..When we camped on Suilven the surrounding hills were so amazing..I want to go up there to do Canisp…Great wee video Linda. Cheers Robert
Thanks Robert, I had to turn back before reaching Suilven as too windy. Hoping to go back soon. Love Assynt. A wild camp on that beach would be amazing 🤩
Hi! Gosh what a beautiful place, I actually have a friend who stays in Lairg and I often visit, next time will have to go there, thanks so much for sharing. ❤
Great video, we did this in October and it was amazing to see the difference in the water level in the little lochans when you were going over the stepping stones. Nice to see the beach in different conditions to what we had. Anyway thanks for sharing. You have a new subscriber, I'll keep an eye out for more of your vids. Andy
I went there to camp for a few days, but big the John Muir trust unexpectedly blocked all vehicular access to the campsite, ruling out larger tent owners. Nice walk to the beach & a wild camp though. Lovely final mages, well odne.
If you do go back, cross the Sandwood river at the end of the beach & over the headland to reach a more secluded smaller beach with no day trippers, just perfect peace all night. There's a stream for fresh water too if required. Turning left after the John muir car park in Balcrich, leads down to a tiny stone pier & vans park overnight there as well ( prettier than Kinlochbervie). Good luck.@@LindaOutdoors
You forgot to mention SB is haunted by a sailor from one of the many nearby shipwrecks that happened. I camped there one night in June.. was woken up at 4am by the sound of a sea shanty playing on an accordion. Looked outside... no one there.
Hi Linda, lovely video, Sandwood Bay is stunning. And as you say the same can be said for Assynt. It's my favourite area in Scotland. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and I hope you get the opportunity to do Suilven as it's brilliant. All the best, Dave
Beautiful, I've been there twice, it's heaven on earth
Thanks William, it’s a special place. 👍

Wow, fantastic memories! I was surprised how busy it was on my visit. I’m glad you can’t drive up now as I imagine it would be even busier. 👍

Yes, I'm sure that is true! Beautiful place and one of our favs!@@LindaOutdoors
We did this walk in 2021 whilst holidaying on the far north coast for a week. Unforgettable. A very special place indeed ❤
It’s magical there. Thanks for watching. 👍
Another one to add to my 'to do' list! Spectacular scenery and glad it stayed dry for you both. :)
Thanks Emma. We got soaked on the walk back about 10 minutes from the car park! 😂
