EDIT: To everyone commenting on bobs guitar: I was side stage the entire show teching, he was NOT out of tune! Bob and Don tune their instruments to 432, which is significantly flatter than standard 440. As for the stream, they were taking Bobs guitar signal directly from his DI/Pedal which was malfunctioning. Had no way of hearing this on stage because bob has little to no stage presence for his guitar. Unfortunately the stream had it the worst. It sounded pretty normal in person.

Maybe he shouldve filled her in on that before?? Somebody dropped the ball big time. Maybe the sound guys ran some stuff wrong with the phasing and shit got wonky for the PA but not on the stage monitors... no clue but yikes man lockn sat headliner is not the time to fuck up on sound so drastically

i met her in 2015 , ran into her and derek at my local trader joe's the day they were playing local . i told them i was going to the show ,we talked a bunch and I jokingly told her if she plays angel from Montgomery my buddies will ahve to peel me off the floor (it's my fave song) well half way through the show she stepped up to the mic and said there a guy we met today his name is phil , this is for him ...yea my buddies had to peel me of the floor , those two are just like you say way down to earth , good people !

So cool Bob chooses to play lead on acoustic guitar, I mean when you think of all the possible things he could be doing at this point in his life, that’s a pretty earthy choice, harmony singing on Angel of Montgomery, like how cool is that.

I love Susan & I have been on Bobby's bus since 1974. Regarding his guitar; this is how he sounds with that band. I saw Wolf Bros this spring & sure felt he needed some accompaniment to tone it down

I used to have a recording of Susan and Bonnie doing Angel from Montgomery. I lost it and haven't been able to find it since. Amazing to hear them playing and harmonizing with each other.

I started like 20 years ago when I discovered Susan, The weird thing was at the very same time I was discovering the Derek Trucks Band and to find them married was a real cool coinkydink. I have many of them but this co..... was just sweet. This show is so good.

Ok lots of NEGATIVE comments! So if anyone DOUBTS Bobby’s abilities check out WOLF BROTHERS CHICAGO HALLOWEEN- TWO DJINN.... he will slice dice and sacrifice you.... as good if not better than anything I’ve ever heard guitar and vocals!!! That being said who can say ANGEL FROM MONTGOMERY INTO SUGAREE wasn’t awesome?! The rap back and forth between Susan and Bobby had jay lane freaked on his drum kit and me too! So dam original and cool... like many many dead shows and I’m qualified to speak on that 288 shows under my belt sometimes was unreal sometimes solid sometimes horrible but when it was on made it all worth it! Did it not? Does it not???

I was at this show and Bob's guitar wasn't out of tune at all. For some reason there was some type of modulation on the live stream that must have been coming straight from the board

I think Bobs acoustic game is at an all time high.... if you look back at the Peach fest a few years ago and then this , it’s really improved. This set here is really special. I never really listened to Susan but she is amazing. Shame on me

Yea technical difficulties or what Bobby’s solos were sounding rough. Still good stuff, but I kept wondering why he was the only one soloing, why not have Susan rip some? She’s a great lead player, much better than Bob has ever been.

At 71 years old what do you expect to be doing with your life? Because what ever it is, I'm damn sure it is a whole lot less than all the incredible things Bobby has done with his. So have some respect. This collaboration was a lovely and unforgettable ending to a long weekend. Also he's pretty swole for a 71 year old.

The guitar is not out of tune he has 2 pickups in it note the two chords coming out of the guitar there out of sync with each other he may not even be hearing what your hearing,who ever is mixing the sound for the show should know there is something wrong but the stage mix is often done by some one else.
As a 67 year old, I'm happy to say "You have to know when to go the **** away".

Love Bobby, but Susan Tedeschi is a MUCH better guitar player than he is, and yet she doesn't get one solo. We get Bobby's lead instead 😞 And I'm a long time deadhead. I'm just not in denial. She's an amazing singer AND guitar player.

I love Bob and I can still tell when his guitar is out of tune.
Electronic tuners don't cost all that much. Really hard to listen to, even for a serious fan. It breaks my heart.
It doesn’t seem out of tune to me. There’s some kind of modulation that’s making it sound that way. Chorus pedals with a high depth will make a guitar sound out of tune even if it’s tuned perfectly. Or perfectly as can be anyway
@@mooglancashire424 this; 100 percent some DEEP chorus effect pulling Bobby's guitar out in and out of tune... effects are not always good.
