Storm Powers and Speeches set to the X-Men Movies

- Some of Storm's characteristic overly dramatic speeches and quotes using her powers set to clips from the X-Men movies. This is the kind of Storm we could have had in the movies. Despite the corniness, it feels much more like the Storm we all know and love. See my other Storm video for the original cartoon clips.

Ororo is an excellent fighter and her powers could devastate an entire state.
What they did with her in the movies is horrendous.
what they did with Cyclops is worse. Taking the MAIN CHARACTER of the entire series (in the comics) and making him the person in the way of another guy getting with his wife/long-term domestic partner, then killing him off in the movie based on not one but two stories that feature him as the lead is unforgivable. Thankfully, Apocalypse did better with both characters
Her powers can destroy the world, as shown in X-Men Animated series episode Storm Front, where she healed an entire planet. You are right that what they did to her in the movies was so wrong and disrespectful. Storm, Rogue and Jean were done very wrong.

I guess they didn't want Storm to be the main Character so they had to extremely weaken her strong Character.
I agree. The invocations are kind of silly to modern audiences, but again, it's about regality, authority, and presence. Halle Berry did what she could with the role, but she never really got to evoke that same sense of command that the Storm in the cartoon had.

She storm in the movies is to quiet and calm. Storm is suppose to be this powerful weather witch. This goddess. But in the cartoon they made her so weak. I hate the line in the movie when she says: you know what happens to a toad when its struck by lighting. The same thing that happens to everything else. That is the lamest line. When someone wrote this they clearly had no vision for the character. It's so embarrassing to hear it. First time I heard it I thought what! did they really let this be her line. Shame shame shame.
Through out the movie Toad was supposed to say how a toad would do things. For Ex: when sabertooth can back without wolverine and rogue "you kniw what happens when a toad tries to kidnap a little girl....he gets it done" or sumthing on the lines of that. Unfortunately they cut. ALL of his lines and left Storm 1 zinger
I hated this part of X-men series so much. As an avid comics fan, storm was a really amazing character which was completely wasted and ruined in the movies. It makes me cringe to hear her lines.
I loved her commands with her powers because she was also known as a "weather witch" and her speeches were just great

On 2000 where she blew toad away & walk towards him she should've that line speech " Crack the Heavens Remove this Abomination " instead of "Know what happens to a toad when struck by lighting same thing happens to everything else .

I agree with you Tony Hall 100% and Angela Bassett . Halle Berry is to much soft for the role she don't got that fierceness !!!! And she don't got the voice , the person who does the voice talent for storm the animation did an amazing job! Iman got the voice and the look and so does Angela Bassett.
cg G Angela Bassett actually turned down X-Men. Not because she didn't like the X-Men, she didn't like the script. She as she has down other super hero movies like Green Lantern, she could have been an excellent Storm.

@watchthesetens What matters the most though is not the looks,but acting capabilities,and Halle has it.She is one of the best African-American actresses to ever grace the screen.Angela would have been nice too,but it wouldn't have been any difference being that Storm hardly got screen time in the movies
Halle worked with what she had in the movies.It isn't her fault they gave her lame ass lines in her script.she had limited screen time mas Ororo,so how would you know if her Storm is truly bad?
@Barbe Yea she does fit in perfectly. Halle just did not had the kind of motherly natureistic feel about her. Even Cyclops looked and acted his role a bit better than Halle. And they never improved on her over the space of 3 films. My goodness. Angie would've made it look better. And the girl they chose for Rogue was even worse.
They should have did what the directors did for HULK. Make it over and scored a huge GOAL!! with the sequel.
@Barbe Yea she is nice as well But she does not strike me as a Storm character. I mean in looks. Take Angelina Jolie for instance. She was the perfect match to portray Lara Croft. I'm just saying that Ms. Bassett has the voice and the African American look for the role. But Iman is a very suitable candidate as well. Just an opinion.
If i where Storm I would not even fight. I would just buy Futures in Grain crops and make it rain to fatter profits!!! O an I'd go back to Africa once a year and do some Charity Rain...as a tax write off of course : )
Cool video, but it would be 100Xs better if you used more of the original Storm voice, Iona Morris. She is the voice you hear saying "I summon the full power of the Storm" against Sabertooth in your clip from X 1. Her voice was a lot better than the second Storm voice, Alison-Sealy Smith.
I hope that Storm will be a little more like this in DoFP. Probably not, but we can hope right. I don't blame Halle Berry though, she did the best she could with was she was given to work with. Please let them do justice to Storm this time around.

The only annoying thing for me personally is that they changed the voice actress in the animated series between season 1 and 2; thats the spectacular voicing u can hear at 00:11 but the rest are of the new actress who just butchered Storm IMO, her rendition was so blustering and pompous, it ruined the character.
