    This species makes gamergates, so even if both your queens die (which btw do at 4 or 5 years of age) the colony is technically immortal

  • @nathant7437

    That water dish is way too small as you noted, it's not for humid species but even resting eggs on it is a bad idea. You can keep the top half from sliding a bit more if you put some tubing through both holes to connect them, though I don't know much about the hole dimensions. It would help it from shifting left and right. The light inside needs to have a dimmer switch big time, that is way too bright. Can you change the bulb? We have a similar thing over here in the U.S. from Tar Heel Ants and while they don't have the light, the water dish is more adequately sized and the outworld is connected a lot better as you made a great point on the issue. Imagine having an outworld filled with ants and you accidentally pull it off with a gaping hole at the bottom and all the ants rush down. That doesn't seem right at all.

    • @antshood3324
      @antshood3324  Год назад

      No the lights are fixed, and if you see my video I dropped today, I’ve moved them out of it. Yeah I think going forward I’m going to glue the outworld down so it don’t move.

    Great video Hoody! They are honestly one of the most amazing species you can keep. One tip is that you need to make sure they don't dry out. They can't drink from feeders or test tubes so you will have to figure out something else!

      Get a small nest, not the one I’ve used, with a single large chamber, put some form of substrate, don’t use sand, coco fibre or soil is ideal and keep Carly humid.

    That awkward moment when a company gives you a couple of hundred quids worth of ants and set-up, FOR FREE, because you're an "I'm really poor, but I want it, but I'm poor!!", whining beggar, and you turn it into a product review and slate the gift!
    Ungrateful beg AF.

    • @antshood3324
      @antshood3324  Год назад

      Your more than welcome to think that matey, but it’s not what happened. I never approach a retailer asking for free stuff, they all come to me, I’m not one of those guys that’s says “I’m an influencer, I want free stuff!” Not me matey. Everyone that watches ant videos and is aware of me, knows I will give an honest opinion and not just say something is good because I’m obliged too because it’s free. Retailers also know this and that’s why I don’t get free stuff often.
      But this is your opinion so I’m cool with that.

      @@antshood3324 No, from what I've seen you're one of those guys who states, often and pitifully, "I wish I could have 'x' but I can't afford it." "I'd love to have 'x', but I don't have the funds." "It'd be great if I could get 'x', but finances. . ."
