Lady Death Origin - This Mature & Violent Hell-Queen Was An Innocent Girl, Her Own People Killed Her

Lady Death as we know her today is the result of being subject to re-imaging in a one-shot format, having been given a thorough makeover. Her beginnings though, are rooted in the classic black-and-white prints of ‘Evil Ernie’. Hughes however, was a winner with his idea of depicting the beautiful, strong-willed villain-supreme on the pages of Chaos Comics.
To do her justice, we shall start right where it all began - the antagonist of the ‘Evil Ernie’ comics. It did not give the super-villain a back-story, her presence in those comics was her first venture in print. She stimulated Ernie’s urge to go on a homicide spree and thus obtain Megadeath. Ernie did at first feel her as a mere figment of imagination. That was far from the truth and the plot unravelled to reveal the Queen of Hell who chose Ernie to execute her morbid cause in the realm of mortality.
