hello, kindly please check this thread: forums.autodesk.com/t5/navisworks-forum/how-do-i-remove-a-merged-appended-model-from-nwf-in-navisworks/td-p/3600760 thanks for watching.
hello, very informative video! i have a question: i used navisworks to combine multiple jt files together( >100 jt files) and i saved those files as one nwd file, after a while i added new jt files in the nwd file but each time i add a new jt file and save the project it creates a new version of nwd file. the problem is that now the haiarchy of the model is nested, it looks like this: lastVersion.nwd contains otherVersion.nwd that contains the firsVersion.nwd which than contains the jt files....i want to edit it so that i have only one nwd file and under it all the jt files...is it possible or do i have to append the jt files in one go ?thank you!
It sounds like you want to maintain a single NWD file with all your JT files nested under it without creating multiple versions of the NWD file. Navisworks does not directly support this kind of hierarchical organization within a single NWD file. Each time you save the NWD file with new JT files added, it creates a new version to preserve the changes. To achieve the structure you desire, you have a couple of options: 1. **Append all JT files in one go**: As you mentioned, appending all JT files in one go will avoid the creation of multiple versions of the NWD file. You can gather all the JT files you want to include, append them to the NWD file, and save it. This will maintain a single version of the NWD file without nested versions. 2. **Organize files externally**: Instead of relying on Navisworks to manage the hierarchy, you can organize your files externally in a folder structure that makes sense for your project. You can keep all your JT files in one folder and maintain a single NWD file without worrying about the nesting. This way, you have more control over the organization and can easily manage your project files without creating multiple versions. Consider which approach aligns best with your workflow and preferences. Both methods have their advantages and can be effective depending on your specific needs.
Hello!! Is it possible to append a file that we can call through a URL? We can call a file through a URL in the OPEN option but the same is not possible through the APPEND option... Right?
