I wish I had found your Channel, before spending money on UDEMY trying to get this information. And if the Instructor did mention sectioning, it was very brief, and not very informative.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the channel helpful. It's frustrating when you spend money on courses and they don't cover everything you need. Happy to help!
What is the use of align to line how do we use it?
In Autodesk Navisworks, the "Align to Line" tool is used to align objects or components along a specified axis or line. This tool is particularly useful when you want to arrange or position objects in a specific way within your project. Here's a general guide on how to use the "Align to Line" tool:
1. **Select Objects:**
- First, select the objects or components that you want to align. You can do this by clicking and dragging to create a selection box around the items or by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each item individually.
2. **Activate the Tool:**
- Once the objects are selected, find and activate the "Align to Line" tool. This tool is often located in the toolbar or ribbon at the top of the Navisworks interface. It may also be accessible through a right-click context menu.
3. **Specify Reference Line:**
- After activating the tool, you'll need to specify the reference line along which you want to align the selected objects. Click on two points to define the line. The first point establishes the starting point of the line, and the second point determines the direction.
4. **Adjust Alignment Parameters:**
- Depending on the version of Navisworks you're using, there may be additional options or parameters to adjust, such as aligning to the start or end of the line, aligning based on a specific axis, etc. Refer to the software's documentation for details on any additional settings.
5. **Complete the Alignment:**
- Confirm or complete the alignment process. The selected objects should now be aligned along the specified line or axis.

Nice Tutorial for Navisworks Manage
thanks for watching sir.
Hi There,
Are you able to save section view in Navisworks?
Regards
yes, save it as a viewpoint.
Great tool for sectioning thanks
You're welcome!
How to layout and print out by the section?
Hi OHD, I just use normal printing procedure. Create section, preview it then print.
Sectioning in Navisworks seems so much harder than it needs to be.
at first its really difficult but when you get used to it, not too bad.
@Jack straw, agreed. Rich, this was great!
@@lachlanmcgonigle831 thanks chief!
@@lachlanmcgonigle831 after using sectioning in Navisworks for the past couple of weeks, my comment did not age well. Once I got used to it I really like sectioning in navis.

thanks Jameel!

you're welcome Sanu!
When I make the section the entire model disappeared...how it is happening ?
@@engr.rashidiqbal237 The issue where the entire model disappears when making a section in Navisworks could be due to several reasons. Here are a few possible solutions:
1. **Section Plane Visibility**: Ensure that the section plane is visible. Sometimes, the section plane might be turned off, causing the entire model to disappear.
2. **Section Plane Position**: Check the position of the section plane. If the section plane is placed outside the boundaries of the model, it might cause the model to disappear.
3. **Clipping Settings**: Verify the clipping settings in Navisworks. Adjusting the near and far clipping planes might help in resolving the issue.
4. **Viewpoint Settings**: Sometimes, the current viewpoint settings might cause the model to disappear when sectioning. Try resetting the viewpoint or switching to a different viewpoint.
5. **Software Bugs**: Occasionally, software bugs might cause unexpected behavior. Ensure that you are using the latest version of Navisworks and that all updates are installed.
Thanks a lot
youre welcome Ashenafi!
