    I think at the end of the day, Christina delivered on the vibe that they wanted. For people who like the elegance of the living room before, an updated TV console would have been enough. But that's not what they wanted. Now the family room is really cozy! I think the reno was well done.

    Every now and then, Christina and Co. Should do a charitable remodel/update. Hopefully enough people know her from California and she won't have a slow time getting clients. She could definitely consider going comnercial too. Smaller Hotels, Country Clubs, cozy restaurants. The girl has an eye.

    I seen another designer put the wine collection in dining/kitchen area. It's only in the movies and magazines that I've ever seen them. I thought wines are stored in cooler, dark wine cellars. Cigars get humidity control.

    All this show does and other shows on HGTV is to sell commercials to Lowes, Wayfair, etc. Making people constantly think that they need update things and rip out cabinets, and tear our countertops and walls and build wine storage, and go upside down in debt to impress their friends who are also upside down in debt. There's so much here that could have been restained, painted, a little refresher for maybe 5-6 k, throw in another 3-4 on new furniture.. Those were stone countertops, those cabinets were fine. They knocked out built ins that were perfectly fine, there was nothing wrong with that living room and that ugly stone fireplace was totally unecessary. Shows like this are teaching fools out there that they have to update every what 7 years, or something and spend 75k? What is wrong with people? You can just keep finding a way to justify this constant cycle of costly changing. In another 7 years to them this will all look outdated. So what if there's an island in the middle, who cares, it's fine. I'd say that place looked like a mid 2000s build. And that is old to them. I've been updating mine almost 85 percent, but understand it's all from 1957. This kind of thing makes me mad in a way how greedy humans are, they have to have more and more and more and more and more. What business does anyone who is not a multi millionaire have building a wine storage like that, it's so extravagent.

    • @laquerisma
      @laquerisma 7 месяцев назад

      This design was clearly from the early 2000's. Like, 20 years ago. People have always updated their homes. Aside from making the people that live there happy, it ups the resale value.
      Our neighbours behind us built a pool on their huge lot and landscaped it all up. They have people who come to maintain it. The funny thing is, they're never in the pool. Or the beautifully landscaped backyard. It's a complete waste.
      At least these people will be in the kitchen, cooking, drinking wine, watching tv in the family room. If they're using it, all the better! I wish them all the best as they enjoy it.

  • @chinarose822

    Beautiful but too much like a fancy hotel. The kitchen floors should have been darker, the cabinet handles should have been black and overall a bit too White but nice remodel. Both their husbands have zero personality.

    • @laquerisma
      @laquerisma 7 месяцев назад

      The trend is toward lighter floors, like white oak. We've just come from grey/dark. Things are lighter and warmer now.
