He doesn't have a shadow yet if you look at his face he has a shadow of his hair on his face. Maybe that's just animation error
It's either that or the animation just looks unfinished and bad. They probably just figure not having a shadow on the ground is good enough and that they don't have to bother with anything else.
I think the remady she needs is a strong drink.

I'm pretty sure you can't just wear armor off of a display stand. You probably need a gambeson or something...?
