Is the Dart Zone MAX Omnia Pro (Gen 2) the NERF Stryfe X Destroyer?

- Thanks to Dart Zone for sending me another Omnia Pro, but they didn't send me any cash so of course my opinions are still completely my own. While the original Omnia Pro from a few months ago had more issues than a League of Legends player, the Omnia Pro (Gen 2) promises to fix those... the problem is, did they? Does the Omnia Pro finally slay the Stryfe X like it was foretold? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z.
It's $60 at Walmart for Black Friday, Get You One: www.walmart.com/ip/Dart-Zone-...

I wonder if I should just do a direct comparison video...hmm...
Yes
Comparison between the Mk3 and the Omnia would be kewl
Yes please do, Hi from down under.
Yep
Yes you should
In value proposition alone, this offering trumps the Stryfe X Pro in spades. The Black Friday sale, and the fact that this blaster can get similar performance with 3.7 less volts is extraordinary.
@@syedumar9459 What kind of backhanded insult is this supposed to be?
not an insult im just suprised he commented@@abquintic
@@syedumar9459The Nerf community is very tight-knit and social.
It's cheaper, but not a better value. It has to work as intended to be a better value, which is does not. Paper specs that don't translate to on field play need-not apply.
The StryfeX works as intended while the Omnia Pro Gen 2 struggles at best and fails in several aspects.
@@mathewbull3614actually, it’s more embarrassing for Hasbro. The fact that the Omnia nearly outperforms the X with 1/3rd of its ability is insane. It’s like saying a one-legged runner with COPD can keep up with Usain Bolt.
Solid review boss. A lot of what we talked about already but glad they made a solid attempt to correct their mistake. I feel like this one just needed more R&D in the lab before it hit store shelves.
$60 would be perfect as a gift for a family member. I would definitely take up the deal, if I wasn’t focusing on another hobby right now. Still, amazing price for such an incredible blaster.
I feel this… gotta prioritize at some point hahaha
Really appreciate your honest review and let us make the choice. Really depressing with the trigger in semi but glad they tried. Thanks for the great video!
That accuracy test was GOLDEN lol
I bought the gen 1 and received my gen 2 replacement. I think this is a subpar blaster even at a discounted price. The delay in semi-auto and three-round burst is terrible, and while full auto is good, other than the novelty of mag-dumping, it's a bad choice for competitive play. While the Stryfe-X costs more, it's dependable and the trigger is snap-quick. The lack of full auto on the Stryfe-X is just not a big deal when you can feather the trigger anyway.
God damn it dude, you're making me regret buying this blaster now
The editing is always so well done on your videos. The music montage had me laughing, loved it!
Oh man, I was just nerfing with my kids and I was thinking I need an inexpensive full auto mag dumper to compete with their mini-gun when I am storming their base. This is the exact form factor and price im looking for! Dartzone does it again. My last 4 blasters are from them.
Also thanks for showing the paper targets in one of your videos, for some reason I didn't think of that, now the kids and I are having fun ripping targets to shreds.

Wow fantastic video as always. A bit wild they didn't iron out all the issues with the trigger to fire delay. Thanks for all the facts, opinions and your enthusiasm. Keep up the great work. You sir ROCK
I was really anxious about this video but I'm glad it's out and the blaster is serviceable now. Thanks for the honest and entertaining review.
If I had an Omnia, I'd use it solely in full-auto... they could have sold it as a cheaper blaster with just full-auto and it'd be an even stronger contender to the Stryfe X.
Neither are my thing because I've already invested in LiPos, but my view is: if you like select-fire and the modularity options of the Omnia, get an Omnia. If you want a no-nonsense powerhouse that just works, with Nerf-brand shell quality and operation, get a Stryfe X.
Thing is, the MK3 does single shot better, and it has the full auto (not as fast), and it’s cheaper forever. I want to love this blaster, but there isn’t evidence to show me it’s overall better than a MK3. Mine hits the same exact speeds on fps with the included darts.
@@2003frontier4x4 Some of that will come down to size, your individual usage, and if you did the full-auto upgrades on the MK3. The Omnia wins out if being sleaker, lighter, and better one-handed balanced is suited for your needs.
Heck yeah--glad to see they fixed it! Also, I recognize that mini knife!
They're amazing little things! I need to buy more of them...
I might just have to try one.
My gen 2 arrived today and I am very disappointed with it. The trigger delay on semi and burst mode is still terrible and makes those modes pretty much useless. Full auto has much less delay but the reduced travel on the trigger makes it harder to control when you try to just fire a single dart. The short trigger pull is also not satisfying to use. Feels more like pressing a button than pulling a trigger. If you just want to use full auto to fire fast and hard it does that well. But anything else there are much better alternatives. I'll probably be returning this and sticking with my mk3 with rof kit and gryphon. I was expecting something better than this.
if it is any consolation your comment made me not want to buy it lol
I came to this channel for the nerf, I stayed for Walcom’s energy. Do whatever legal stuff you need to do to keep the video quality right here, dude. I’m patient.
dear god what happened?
did he get into a scandal or something??
Nice camera work
Been waiting for v2.
This blaster reminds me and makes me miss the modules Regulator
Personally, I've gone with the MKIII and I'm adding the Create With Ezekiel mods to give it better full auto and to fix the talon mag issue. Though I'm sure someone will come out with a kit for this to make it better.
Omnia is $90 but the Solo Pro is only $15… … think bout it… .. …… .
Solo is spicy
cant wait for this thing to maybe come out in canada at an insane markup
Usually in close quarters you need reaction time, so this is a miss
Per your review that the issues were fixed I purchased one on the 26th during the sale. Sadly I seem to have recieved one of the original units as it still pulls heavily to the right. Looks like they are still selling the Gen 1 units at walmart so buyer beware.
Watching your trigger finger when you pull the trigger, it seems in semi and burst it is firing the dart as you release the trigger. Where as full auto seems to be firing as you pull the trigger. If that's right then the way they've wired the trigger switch to the selectfire system is all screw and may be able to sort the fire delay issue with some wiring trouble shooting and rewiring 🤷🏼♂️
I’ll wait for the next Dartzone/Nerf select fire flywheeler. They’re just not there yet.
Hi, great review. Quick question - how much strength does the dart zone stryker loading take? Do you think an 8 yo will handle it?
So if I purchased the Gen1 during the initial release, how can I get Dartzone to replace it with a Gen2?
Could you do a video on the dart zone max solo?
Soooo it’s a pro version Regulator? Huh. Also find it odd that they didn’t go for either a dual stage and/or a canted flywheel setup. Finally, I think it odd how wide the muzzle is, that’s gonna be a pain for SCARS/BCARS. -the Foam Mandalorian
Yay a walcom video
We need a comparison video!
In other words, semi auto in semi auto is worse than semi auto in full auto. That's never a sign of a polished blaster.....
Thanks for the review, I am gonna pass on the Omnia once again. I'll stick with my Mk. III and my Nerf Modulus Regulator [which I still have to put the upgrade board in]. For $60 you can get 2 Mk. III's I think that is a much better deal.
Where's the Kamen Rider shouts as you open the boxes? That was one of the best parts of your videos!
Overall its aesthetic just aint doin it for me as much as DZ's other offerings do. Just not much my cuppa tea but hey if it functions well and fills a need for someone im all for it
Got mine a week ago. Finally.
Stryfe X is $84 for Cyber Monday. As far as the Omnia goes I am really on the fence on getting one. If you want full auto, it seems good. But for anything else I feel like I am probably better off just sticking with my MK3.
Is the omnia pro max in stores in Walmart? Or do you have to buy it online
Probably not the best place to shoot this idea, but if I may, and if anyone will listen, I just realized there could be a way to make flywheel blasters more accurate. If you offset each of the motors by a couple of degrees in opposite directions, this could rifle the darts in a similar way to a scar barrel, which would stabilize their flight
Will you do a mod vid increasing the accurcay on it?
I think many people will appreciate it
Gotta make one like the mp40 mod.
Hmmmn, maybe a new control board and definitely a good solenoid and it'd probably fix the problem with the trigger delay.
Thanks bro
Do you think this would be a good first flywheeler to plink around my house?
As a Canadian I really hope they're still working on getting this here, we don't have any of the Max stuff
Amazon has the goods
I want to buy a powerful nerf should I go with this or Mk3? What's better? How bad do these things hurt if your hit haha?
how's the performance compared too the Dart Zone Pro Mk3?
Shit, wish I saw this on Friday, I'm surprised they don't have a monday deal too.
Kinda wondering how this compares to the MK3 (just bought one before this video) so wouldn't mind a comparison video between the two
Also Walcom why haven't u reviewed the Dart Zone Pro MK 2.1 yet cause we know how you are with pistols
Can't find my MK3 right now so maybe I have to buy another.
I was indifferent on the MK2.1, the video was filmed but I didn't really like it.
The MK3 performs exactly the same as far as fps. Accuracy is also really good on the MK3, I would definitely say better than the Omni. I finally installed my 3D printed snub barrel this morning, and chronographed it (its much harder to chrono with the stock “barreling.”) Exactly the same performance, and better single shot. The full auto is slower for sure, but the snappiness of the MK3 in single fire makes it superior for sure. You can fire as fast as you want and it is right there with you.
@@2003frontier4x4 Plus upgrading the full auto firerate is doable, reworking a fully electric pusher into manual only when in semi-auto, not so much.
Sale Omnia, 3 pack 15 round mags and a spare battery (Hydro Strike replacement. same battery) for $87
No intro music for Freddy? His head must've really gotten banged up last time!
Love how the box has the same typos as the first one lmao
What are the typos?
Am I the only one who noticed the striking resemblance to the FDL 3 with the half dart front portion installed
Be aware! Wmart is advertising Dart Zone Omnia Gen2, but shipping Gen1. Today, I received in the mai the surprise.
This is a completely uniformed opinion, but I’m thinking the delay is a product of the three round burst. I’m not sure why I think that but I feel like maybe the delay is built in to give a buffer for the pusher to cycle three times on the one press. Also, if they weren’t adding three round burst I would imagine they would just do what they did with the mk. 3 where semi auto was mechanical.
The tiny knoif :D
Still hyped for the full auto nerf blue shock 😁
Try a 3s lipo in it. I found 0 lag with 3s with xt30. It screams with 3s lipo and I honestly could not imagine a more incredible flywheeler than this thing in 3s. I don't have a chronograph but I'm assuming 200+ fps
Man I wanted a fdl so bad. Enyone sell theres?
Can the Omnia mags fit the Stryfe X?
no
Does this Omnia Pro chew up and destroy darts like the MK3?
I have an omnia pro gen 2 and so far it has been chewing up my darts, and has even taken the head off of one.
I wish dart zone would make a publicly accessible bolt action rifle
That semi auto rate of fire is aweful. Ill just stick to my 30 dollar mark 3.
I'll stick to my worker phoenix ty
Pooo I missed the deal…maybe cyber Monday will reveal a similar value
Bought it on Walmart. Couldn’t pass it up
wow two mags unlike one Company
Yeeble DEEBLLEEER
I think you should
How to know if I'm getting the gen 2 or the gen 1 ?
They should all be Gen 2s...hopefully.
@@WalcomS7 thank you
Eeeehhh, that trigger delay just kills its performance IMO
I still don't like the N-Strike attachments.
The super soaker ak stock is the only real option here
Wow. Unusable in my mind. :S Well that makes the decision easy. Stryfe X eats this for breakfast in my books.
I think the biggest issue with this blaster is that it's basically ... late to the game and stuck in the weird middle.
They made a toy for people who are playing a sport.
It's too much blaster for a toy but not good enough to be equipment.
Also... why is it SO BIG??? it's a giant piece of plastic that's worse than my nightingale. honestly... there is no reason for a flywheel blaster to be larger than a nightingale at this point.
I'd still take this over the Stryfe Pro tbh; there's more bang for your buck here.
Now give me 2 drum mags. and change the wheels to rubber ones.
Aaaaannnnnnnnndddd they sent me a gen 1 bruh picture clearly showed gen 2
Do a nerd war vid
No It is PUNISHER
The MK3 snaps better. Kind of weird…
The MKIII has really weird internals, in a good way. The way they did the pusher and the select fire is unique. The main things wrong with it is they didn't consider talon mag compatibility (though this is easily solved with talon mags or a very simple mod anyone can do without having to buy any aftermarket parts) and the full auto is kind of slow (but that can be improved with mods). The other thing is the 5A switch for the rev trigger tends to burn out, but lots of people have replaced theirs with minimal fuss.
So if they just ripped out the select fire, making it full auto only, and knocked another couple of bucks of the price, nobody would be complaining.
But since it's doing extra features badly, people will get hung up on that. The lesson learned is: pick a lane and keep it simple, don't half-ass two things, whole-ass one thing.
Good blaster for the spray-n-pray club
Why did you buy 2? Me: well to akimbo them of course
Semi auto is better in full auto than semi auto.
HHHHHMMMMMM.
Oooooooffff 😞
How in the hell does Dart Zone keep owning Nerf at literally every turn?
Stryfe is way better than
