this cover was the first time hearing "Water under the bridge" and the original is finally on the radio after like a whole year. I turned it off because it wasnt against the current. it didn't sound the same.

It's still the better version - because this one is playing it straight, seems vulnerable and honest, whereas the high-drama original just like sounds like Adele is winding up for a tantrum. Kinda miss covers like this one.
@@arnob8948 Kinda. More so than the original, because the way Adele launches into the chorus is so...dramatic. More volume. High power. Chrissy doesn't do that, which to me changes how the exact same lyrics come across
@@arnob8948 Adele has more reach and maybe more success, but I just like this rendition of her song better. Adele sounds passive aggressive and pumped up, which is an interesting contrast to the explicit message of the lyrics, but I enjoy it a lot less than this cover that "plays it straight"
