Nothing new here. My personal weakness is naming layers. I'd like to have a reason for every syllable so I'm trying to eliminate 'generic' keystrokes in the layer-naming convention. OB_Door changes to Door_Interior, so two pieces of information are conveyed in the name rather than one obvious one, and another. That affects how you name Layers. Since the mid '90s when I first started taking software courses, instructors have demonstrated software by example and always use some useless name, because it's seemingly unimportant right now. It is very important to establish a simple, effective naming convention and then stick with it right through to construction documents.
Nice video. I don't see any good reason to draw the 2nd floor beside the building to start, it just looks like this is an option that's been provided that has no value and is asking for accuracy problems.. Wondering why the 2nd option is provided and who it could possibly help? If someone wants the 2nd floor to be beside the building they can simply draw it accurately on top and move it over and down beside the building if needed...
Hi Araya! Thanks. Sometimes designers can get hung up on the geometry below when the cursor "snaps" to what is around it. I've used both methods and have enjoyed using both ways.
