His girlfriend only helps him with filming sometimes. He plays multiple instruments, but he started with the guitar at the age of 9, influenced by his greatest idol, Gary Moore. He started singing at the age of 15 and most incredible thing is that, other than basic musical education in high school, he is completely self taught when it comes to singing
What always gets me with Tommy having fun with his youtube videos. He is the guitar player in one of the biggest metal bands on the planet. He does not really sing in Sabaton. He does not really use his singing for anything other than having fun on YT. However he is a better singer that many of the biggest stars in the world. He could frontline major bands as a singer. But choose just to have fun with it on YT doing covers and what not.
Oh man , he has the the ability to give you that feeling you want to achieve, standing on a beach with you´re boombaster, just playing max, and this is what you hear. Eargasm. ;-)
So, if you ever hear someone say 'that was a righteous (whatever)', THIS is what they mean. He not only did the song justice, he went above and beyond.

And while during the song, he makes every word sound 100 percent true, as if he's living the song, he also, as you saw, can completely stop, make it look like he made a mistake, and then pickup right into the story where he left off. And the end of the videos always shows him doing something charming. Sabaton is the same way. Yes, their songs are often on very sad topics. But people feel better for some reason, like they can do more in their lives, maybe being inspired by others who still live in the songs. During live shows, Sabaton guys are usually working the crowd, making jokes, playing pranks on each other, because as Joakim says, metal is supposed to be fun.
His cover of You Lift Me Up one octave higher than the original is amazing so is his Cover of the Phantom of the Opera singing both the male and female parts.

I discovered him yesterday and I was blown away. I've went down his list and watched everything. The man is unbelievable. When he did this I was shocked because I never thought anyone could be as good as Steelheart singing this.

Send, my son tells me this is a guitar made by LTD, model M-1000. It only needs one pick up because it also has a Trimalo package on it that the whammy bar is connected into as well. My son says LTD make most of the guitars used by heavy metal players and Tommy is a guitarist for Sabaton. I am assuming my son knows what he speaks about, he worked at a music store for 8 years while playing with several bands and now owns a live audio/lighting/video company.

If you ever get a chance, you should react to an artist by the name of Faouzia, she is amazing, has a great sound mixes pop and Arabic sounds together, it is so good! Try anything from her stripped album, just her and either a guitar or a piano, so you can hear her voice, just beautiful!

I totally get what you mean in terms of your voice just getting lower as you age. When I was younger I was a high soprano. I could reach crazy high notes when I was in my teens and early twenties. I'm 37 today, and my voice has gotten waaaay lower than it used to be. I can reach low notes that made me sound like a frog with a cold 10 years ago and I have to strain to reach those high notes I could get to without even warming up before. :P
This is stellar .. I personally prefer this sung live by Tommy but I also prefer I His cover of “I’lll never let you go “ from the same band .. it’s also fun when he “power metal up” songs from other genres like Anti hero from Taylor swift or Basket case from Green Day 😉
This is a cover by Steelheart a band form the early 90's. It was their first album, it was a great album. Looks them up and check out the song Never Let You Go.
Tommy does a great job with this cover. Now, do yourself a favor and listen to the original Steelheart song. They were an amazing band with a tragic story.
