  • August 4th, 2022: Visited southern California for the first time, even if for just a brief moment and a long distance from the coast. The town of Needles is featured along with Mojave desert scenery. The monsoon continues.
From Wikipedia: "Needles is a city in San Bernardino County, California, in the Mojave Desert region of Southern California. Situated on the western banks of the Colorado River, Needles is located near the Californian border with Arizona and Nevada. The city is accessible via Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 95. The population was 4,959 at the 2020 census, up from 4,844 at the 2010 census."

I used to live in Needles. It's a great place to live if you have a boat. Not much else to do but go on the water or ride dirt bikes. The Colorado river is drying up though. In 15 years there might be a lot less people there.. go check out Lake Havasu City it's a lot bigger city vibe.

Makes sense. I still have yet to check out Lake Havasu. It'll happen at some point!

California is known as the Golden State. Nevada is the Silver state.

Wow! I've never been to Needles, but surprisingly I see some similarities in the landscape compared to where I'm from in Ventura County (like at 1:30). I reminds me of the farm land in the Oxnard Plain with the Santa Monica mountains in the background.

Thank you for your kind comment, Noah. It's interesting to hear that, as I have yet to experience the rest of southern California. It'll happen someday though and show up on this channel, I'm sure. 🙂

May I ask what song you were singing around the end there? (5:12) pretty catchy haha.
