As a young adult, I now appreciate growing up in Africa. When I was little TV and movies made us all wish to grow up in America because it was more glamorous. Now at 24 I realise I am so blessed and proud to be African and grown up on this beautiful confident. Love from South Africa.
Although I live in Canada now, I am South Africa too and I appreciate being raised in South Africa and the excellent education I received there. When I arrived in Canada I became one of the top students in my undergrad class. I raised my daughter in Canada and I feel so guilty about how isolated she is here

My boys were not happy being black in USA, we brought them to Africa and they thrived. Now they go back and forth all grown up but Africa is where they call home. Wishing you and your family a very happy and enjoyable stay. Botswana is a very beautiful country with lovely people and good governance. Stay blessed 🙏🏿🙏🏿

I totally feel you guys. I moved from America to Nigeria with my family shortly before the pandemic started and we just counted ourselves even luckier. Prior to that my heart was already breaking for how less my 3-year old interacted with other children in America even before the social distancing. My number one motivation for moving to Nigeria was for my toddler to have a comfortable and warm (welcoming) environment to grow and to be around more people. I can see the positive impact on everyone including my husband. Thanks for sharing. * We're also interracial*

Thank you showing that people can actually have a well rounded upbringing and life in Africa. We need to show more of how African lives can be rich in so many ways. Love to you all from a Zimbabwean living in the UK (for now )💕
Guys I am from Trinidad 🇹🇹 and education is big for us you have my full support my boys are now 25 and 19 we live in Canada the both go to the university of Toronto I spent a lot of money sending them private school from junior kindergarten it’s worth the sacrifice is worth it❤️❤️
I loved all the reasons they explained, for moving, and the wishes they have for their children. Children should learn all types of things and be well rounded. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to happen here. I wish you and your family well.
So proud of you both. Farm life in our countries is a right of passage...I'm falling in love with Botswana just listening to you both. FATHER DEFINED...100% man!!! Proud of you both!
This is most beautiful video I've seen today. I love your intentionality, all this sacrifice to ensure your children are well rounded.... I love it so much and I'm so inspired.
Garrett & Neo I totally understand when it comes on to a child's development and that's why I let my son grow up in Jamaica where I'm from..he is more rounded and doing well in his development overall..and he is happier, plus I need him to get that strong foundation.. So I can definitely relate to you.. You've made a good choice..
Not all states in the USA are on lockdown and some have never closed schools. Glad you’re happy in your new home and you have to do what’s best for your family.
@Ossie R - I was about saying that too. But I just don't want to be negative. I don't think Neo has live in several places in America to view and understand how things works in other States. You can't use one state to judge the whole of America.
@@bikeojomo besides all that they mentioned, life in Southern Africa is really good though to be honest. Now this is coming from someone who has lived in the US. Personally, I couldn’t wait to come back home. Southern Africans really love home so I understand where she is coming from.
Right, Florida was free of tyranny Thank God! Looking back, Gvmts treated the whole experience miserably. Now in 2023, the truth is coming out, Finally!!
I'm so glad everyone is doing better Neo is getting much needed sun, the twins are socializing and they have children there age to play with. Michael isn't as fussy as he was before and he is enjoying his new environment. He much happier. And last but not lest. Garrett is more relaxed, looks relaxed and rested. He is enjoying the new adventure. You really made a good decision for you and the entire family. And you have more help and you can have time to yourself. It takes a village to raise children. And you have that now.
What a wonderful family. U are an inspiration to us all. When u complain of not having shoes and watch someone without legs journey through life so happily without complaining for ones so calm so happy so ready to give and so grateful to God always then u know ur foolishness is all bullshit. Thanks to ur good and wonderful composture and how u both make life and living seem Very easy. One more thing, it's just from my observation. Do try and train those armies of urs how to do chores around the house. It's good for them. Stay blessed darlings.
The move to Africa has been absolutely phenomenal for the children. From the little i have seen on your vlogs, they seem to have grown in leaps and bounds.Mikey ,too is always up and about enjoying the massive space your home has.You could not have made a better decision.Remember"it takes a village....."
You two are such an inspiration. Im so glad you shared why you moved and the benefits that came in this move. You covered so many important things that are very relevant. Keep on sharing because its been such a blessing in more ways than you can imagine. God bless you all more & more.
That life is better, I grew up in Jamaica and it was better over as ll. After 30 years in the United States I am heading back home and will be there and Africa ....they lied about our culture for so long. Better education system, better food, organic food.
@@donitaballard5928 I think alot of people come for the economic opportunities. I met a nurse from the Philippines who had built a house home and was getting ready to retire. She stated that she could live like a Queen in the Philippines with the money that she earned in the USA. It is for that very same reason that many Americans are moving to other countries.
I like how you people are family oriented. Yes daddy is so right to allow the children to have more space which is soso good for their physical and emotional development. I am from Jamaica and we share some of the cultural that you have. I can tell our children are rounded especially those in the rural area.
So true I am Jamaican as well have never left Jamaica and never had the desire to do so . Right now I have vegetables in my fridge that my neighbour bring me fresh vegetable straight from the farm . I had a few yams u share with them . In America and other countries .
You guys are not only BOLD but you will be leaving your kids invaluable childhood experiences that they will never ever forget. You guys have done what so many of us would love to do but could never follow through. Yall are amazing 👏 👏🙌
I think the foundation is stronger in African and Caribbean countries. It's when they move into high school and college that they may benefit more abroad. Actually we felt better getting our education back home because it's British and Caribbean based. My sister took her children back home to raise them and it makes me feel so good to see them playing ball in the yard with their peers, climbing trees and all the other things I did as a child.
Well done guys. I applaud you for making the boys learn both worlds. It makes them appreciate a lot of things in life. Look at Michael deal with that goat's jaw...lol. love you guys. May God continue to protect you and the boys
Simple life like the one you're having is priceless. God provides day by day and we appreciate his grace and his favour daily. Children are really in touch with real life with nature. This is an davantage for their full development. I pray the Lord bless you more to be a great blessing to your both countries,USA and Botswana.
Since lock down - covid ...one couple I know gave up their business ( which was suffering due to covid) and they moved to Costa Rica. Another couple i know moved too . I wish you much success and peace in Africa.
I love that your prime motivation for moving was to let the kids thrive holistically. As an educator, I would recommend the International Baccalaureate system of education. Kindly do some research on it. It fits in with the profile of what sort of kids Garret would like the twins to be in the future... multilingual, multifaceted, open minded ... have a Google of the International Baccalaureate learner profile. All the best. I love you all and will be following you on all your channels ❤
You are living the best life in the mother land . Surrounded by people who love you. Mikey is so cute, chewing on his jaw bone! Neo, l ain't mad at you! Those who are trying to berate you , and look down on your decision are Jealous Baby!!!!! Because they are up to their necks in debt and can't see past their noses. When you serve God, you learn to listen for his voice to guide you. Of course we live daily in the shadow of death. Covid has been around as long as colds, and flu ,it is in the same family.... but we fear no evil. For he is with us. Our God is our comforter, and provider.... Your children will not be neglected, or abused by the people who are supposed to protect them . Because they are safe in the Village of your people. May God continue to Richly bless you.
I'm from south Africa and I know exactly what you talking about I have a 3 year old I feel so bad everyday and now we had snow storm can't take him out and he loves to play .
@ Asisanda, I know the feeling. I am from SA too and raised my daughter in Canada. The weather did affect how she interacted with other kids. And the fact that I couldn't just let her go play outside on her own was such a bummer
You have made a very wise decision and I look forward to your regular updates as to how the children are adopting to their new environment. I have no doubt they will thrive. Sending you lots of warmth and love from Kenya.
This was an excellent move during the pandemic for the children's development. You can always go back to the US where they were born when the pandemic is over in America and the children are older. You two are great parents and I love your journey in life. I look forward to your sharing your experiences in the village as your children develop and grow older💗

eNeo and Garret, I watched your vid earlier and then took some time to think before replying. Garret, all of the things you want your sons to learn are widely available in the the USA. Rural or small town USA. I know, because my sister and 3 brothers and I grew up this way.My dad and brothers and husband and 3 sons are all men of many talents. Raise animals, butcher, work on cars, hold very respectable jobs, plumbing and wiring a house, etc. We live in rural Pa., and very rarely need to call repairman-----just wait until Dad (or brother or son)get home to fix it. My husband and brother and sons also went to college. I am very glad that your family is happy in Botswana (which I would love to see), but these things are here in USA. I wish you and Neo and sons a marvelous life. Sincerely, Pat from Pa., USA>
Gosh Neo, Garrett is one phenomenal human being, and you really got lucky finding such a great man.. But I must say you both compliment each other fabulously.

I was born in zambia, grew up in Botswana then moved to the USA at 19. I so envy you guys. I miss home so much. I can’t wait for the day I move back home permanently.
It’s so nice to see how well y’all are doing.
Thank you showing that people can actually have a well rounded upbringing and life in Africa. We need to show more of how African lives can be rich in so many ways. Love to you all from a Zimbabwean living in the UK (for now )💕
Muri kudzokera kumba rinhi Auntie.Uk is depressing, all these western countries are lonely
Valerie I went to school with you. You were my senior kuKyle House😁😁. Nice to see you on here.
Kumba is the best guys
@@zulujanet6090 kkkk the funny the thing is thina we are busy in SA trying to come that side hahahahah
I recommend Ghana 🇬🇭 the GATE WAY TO AFRICA and you will thank me later.
I recommend Uganda 💕💕 heart of Africa.
So proud of you both. Farm life in our countries is a right of passage...I'm falling in love with Botswana just listening to you both. FATHER DEFINED...100% man!!! Proud of you both!
Am glad you guys made the right decision for your family, much love ❤️
@@bikeojomo I agree
This is amazing. The kids do need outdoor activities and even you guys. The best decision ever . May God continue to bless you guys
I LIVE IN Nigeria part time what your saying is spot on
The kids are enjoying 🇧🇼 you guys have taken the best decision ever, love from South Africa 🇿🇦
This makes me miss Bots😢 but Sweden is just as awesome. Schools have never been closed and we still have our weekend activities and play dates.
Cost of living is lower and you can spend more time with the kids.
Unlike in America at least he can watch his children grow up.
Your husband looks at you with love in his eyes!
The move to Africa has been absolutely phenomenal for the children. From the little i have seen on your vlogs, they seem to have grown in leaps and bounds.Mikey ,too is always up and about enjoying the massive space your home has.You could not have made a better decision.Remember"it takes a village....."
Thanks for seeing and understanding.
Daddy put on weight
You two are such an inspiration. Im so glad you shared why you moved and the benefits that came in this move. You covered so many important things that are very relevant. Keep on sharing because its been such a blessing in more ways than you can imagine. God bless you all more & more.
I lived in village, I understand you very well, its good life no stress and surrounded by family even vilage love from people ❤♥💜💕, all the best
I Love your spirit. You both are very Attractive and smart. Thank you, both for what you do.
That life is better, I grew up in Jamaica and it was better over as ll. After 30 years in the United States I am heading back home and will be there and Africa ....they lied about our culture for so long. Better education system, better food, organic food.
Yes its good to be back where u belong neo and family love u guys
Its like living here in Jamaica good organic food beautiful sunshine
What a joy, as parents do your best for your family. God blessings
Amen!
Parenting Skills at the highest level. You two know what’s best for your kids. God bless you both. Stay safe. Love your family.❤️❤️❤️
The Village Life is awesome. It started in Africa.
Good for you guys , your kids will thank you so much you made this decision. I loved this. This was really eye opening for me.
This is parenting to another level. Your children are an absolutely priority. Well done for taking advantage of your options
Since lock down - covid ...one couple I know gave up their business ( which was suffering due to covid) and they moved to Costa Rica. Another couple i know moved too . I wish you much success and peace in Africa.
You two are doing what I wish I could do. Congratulations on getting yourselves and your children out of this madness.
I have been watching from 4000 subscribers. It's the happiest I have ever seen you😍 What a blessing!🙏🙏
I really enjoyed this video. Keep them coming Neo.
Decision made in unison, God bless this family. ❤️
This man is awesome, God bless this man, Sister God loves you
You are living the best life in the mother land .
Sounds like your family is happy, and safe in africa. Its just wonderful that you dont need visa to visit all over africa. Im happy for your family!!!!
I'm from south Africa and I know exactly what you talking about I have a 3 year old I feel so bad everyday and now we had snow storm can't take him out and he loves to play .
@@donitaballard5928 Its freezing. Its not a nice snow that you see on TV
@ Asisanda, I know the feeling. I am from SA too and raised my daughter in Canada. The weather did affect how she interacted with other kids. And the fact that I couldn't just let her go play outside on her own was such a bummer
Take him home he wil be back when you want him to start college. That will be the best thing you would have given to your son trust me🙏🏿
Tell me about it
You have made a very wise decision and I look forward to your regular updates as to how the children are adopting to their new environment.
Hello! Neo, you give real life content on your channel, and I love that. Blessings to you and your family.

MISSED YOU NEO ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Greetings from the US, Washington DC Neo. I think your children will learn so much being in Africa. My mom was raised on a farm in Georgia, and she knew so much about so many things, I was amazed. Your kids will be blessed to be raised there. God bless
Awesome!! We too, moved out of the U.S.!!😁 So happy we did! Life is so much calmer and happier, to be honest, in so many countries outside the States! Happy for y'all!!👏👏👏
Love your Family! Authentic, inspirational so natural! Promoting the change of positive African narrative. God bless you!
I live in Jamaica and our living is similar let me say this it's a wonderful life to live the sunshine the warmth you can plant your own food crops I've been abroad I dont love it but here I'm comfortable so for you to move with your kids its phenomenal Ms.Neo they will thrive they will be independent and the list goes on 😍

EXCELLENT DECISION...SMART MOVE FOR THE FAMILY, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR PRECIOUS BOYS. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS. 👍🏽💙👍🏽
Lucky babies!! I grew up in the country on a working farm and it still bothers me badly that there are children that have never seen a chicken in person, pet a horse, gone fishing, play in the dirt!! Breaks my heart!! You couldn't have chosen better for them!! God bless 🙏🥰
Hello Kim🤩
I actually love village life and am looking forward to learning more 😘 I am learning to grow good and I love building things to boot, only my languages are lacking. Bless you for sharing this!
This is what my mom always tells me to bring the kids back home and i want this time more than ever
You guys are so blessed!!! Y'all look like you got some healthy sun. The village life is where it's at!! I can't wait to come there.
Yes come to Ghana 🇬🇭 the GATE WAY TO AFRICA and you will thank me later.
I'm an African American women who was born in the " motor city" in Detroit. I've live in the U S all my like and have encountered many racist people but I trust I Jesus as my Lord and Savior and He fights my battles for me. I don't let the racism bother me. Happy for you and your family, stay blessed 🙌🙏
You're the cutest couple on YT and living off grid/ village life is the best!! God bless you all 🙏🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼
I taught Pre-school and pre-k and social skills is everything for the kids👍🏽
It's always a blessing hearing from experts like you. Some people don't understand the importance of social skills
I've taught preschool, montessouri and special/exceptional education and for most people, especially young children, need socialization.
Your children are really progressing quickly and I'm so happy to see it.

You do what’s best for your children and don’t let no one tell you different. They have the best parents ever keep up the good work😄
I'm happy for you and your family! I had the same problem with my teen no interaction and was going to a really bad depression. Blessings to you and your family. 🙏
A great decision for your family. I can see the children love their new environment. They will be far ahead of their peers overall. Enjoy
Kudos to you 👏🏾🙏🏾 Your boys will really thrive. I just want to remind you that Africa is a continent which contains over 50 countries, therefore the country that one visits should be mentioned.
The boys have two loving, caring parents. And now and additional hug extended family that loves the Lord. God is Smiling on you guys.
eNeo and Garret, I watched your vid earlier and then took some time to think before replying.
Neo you are getting a deep chocolate brown and your hubby is getting red! Lol Beautiful completion’s.
Gosh Neo, Garrett is one phenomenal human being, and you really got lucky finding such a great man.. But I must say you both compliment each other fabulously.
Best decision ever. Africa is the future and more to explore and discover. I am a Ghanaian based in France. I love you guys
