  • @colleenlynch9657
    @colleenlynch9657 4 года назад +5

    Yeah seeing that Chinese guy at the press conference, well, I was totally blindsided. Regardless of the diplomatic and trade agreements; these "Billionaires" have completely lost touch with reality. Our country has not been in the grip of this virus as many other countries have been such as the US, Italy, Spain etc but we have endured our own struggles under lockdowns and economic hardships. To even suggest that Australia should wait until the United States has installed a president is ludicrous and totally inappropriate.
    What has the American elections have to do with us as a country trying to find out answers from the Chinese about how they have willfully lied to the world about their actions surrounding the exportation of their virus! This is about Australian's trying to understand how our country is losing billions and hundreds of millions of dollars to support its people. It's not about some "philanthropist" hedging his bets on what the Chinese will do when the US announces a president.
    For an Australian to deny JUSTICE from other Australians to me is VERY UNAUSTRALIAN. So there you have it Mr Twiggy, we know who your bed fellows are and it certainly isn't the poor Aussies that have been lying dying in ICU beds waiting to touch the hands of their loved ones as they take their final breaths.
    I have nothing against the Chinese people, these people look to their government just as we look to our government for direction and good standing. Had they the ability to tap into the global discussions and information that the rest of the world has to what is happening surrounding this virus; I am sure they would not only be embarrassed and feel dishonoured by their government. But moreso they will also wonder what is actually happening in their own country as far as the veil of deception is concerned. That's about all I have to say about this here but we need to be very careful with the Chinese Government, Corporations and their increasing military forces.

    I'm an iron ore miner in W.A. I also came to Australia when I was a child as a refuge from a communist regime. I'm glad I don't work for that spineless toady traitor Forrest. How about this. if the Chinese people loose their taste for Australian wine and beef, maybe Australians will loose there motivation to sell them our iron ore. Economic disaster for Australia? Not quite, Just a profit cut for fat billionaire like Twiggy. We in the mining industry have been waiting and expecting India to go ballistic but they just need a push and a hand. Australia has been directly and rudely threatened by our so called great friend. What the Chinese fail to realise is being Australian is not so much a persons nationality but a state of mind. No matter if we are born here or are welcomed here to escape oppression, most of us soon develop an ANZAC spirit and I'm sure that most of us are willing to take an economical hit when we are described as gum stuck to a china mans shoe. How do we do it? Offer India our ore at the lowest price we can until their economy is booming. This will get us through and will make China's unfriendly neighbour India much more powerful and a bigger headache for them. Maybe then they might realise that it would have been better to get a headache from drinking too much Australian wine. Those that say we can't do this because of stock market Blah Blah, I say, we are doing extraordinary things now and doing it bloody well. This is an unprecedented emergency and we have been threatened and abused for asking, not for a witch hunt but a reasonable suggestion to prevent this from repeating. We can do what we choose to do. ANZACs, It's time to grab your bag of cement, harden up and stand to!

      @@Yoghurtyyyy Hello friend. Thank you for your reply. Please explain, without the infantile insult, that I regard as a positive, your suggestion to the dilemma faced by us chewing gums under the shoe! Great insult, too might I add. Would you argue or hopefully explain to me and the others, no doubt interested in this topic; as to why we would not align, with a nation, that speaks English, have similar values and is the most powerful union in the world? To me and it seems many others ,the CCP has shown their true colours and threatening attitude, towards Australians.
      Please make clear what you think or are told to think, we as a nation, rich in resources but divided on what should be even used as a primary energy source, are to do??
      The U.S.A. is far from perfect or without errors but do you truly contest, the CCP deserves any respect, in the not so free 'West". Given the respective histories of forceful takeover of a stone age society, that in past value systems, was deemed to be of little, if any worth; with the murderous, glorious, great plunge backwards? Please oh future oppressor , guide us to the correct thoughts; needed to overlook, the multitude of failings evident in the inimical CCP?
      Found regards,
      chewy dog!

    Australians are being kicked out of home because of Chinese. However, Australian government and export traders still want to keep their businesses with China.
    What's all the trade money for? When Australians are suffering because of it?

    I'm already buying Australian made/owned products. I'm willing to pay a bit more to keep jobs and bring manufacturing back here. Quality is far better too. Willing to own less shoes/clothes and pay a bit more for Aussie made/ owned

    you get a good supply chain when you own and control manufacturing and shipping. Anything less is inadequate. Bring your factories back or at least deal with trustworthy countries is the least any country can do.

    Good deeds or status should not be able to buy the podium of the people's house and address in bias the views of the hand that suppresses and threatens their free will to defend their freedoms.This unelected attack was shameful and stands at the feet of our sovereignty as a warning that being their are those out there who swing a bat of greed not one of the greater communities need.

    It would take decades for the West to decouple with China. It is the world's largest exporter of goods and the second largest importer of goods. The world economy as we know it will not be the same without China, whether we like it or not and they know it.
