This is an okay video, though he does kinda speed through the steps. One thing I'll note for everyone is that if the case won't open after you've taken out all the screws, look for stickers. They might be hiding a screw underneath it, I'm not kidding.
A tiny "lenovo" sticker was hiding the final screw on the inside. That was one of the most irritating things I've seen yet.
Thanks for the hint. Did you remove the keyboard as well as he did, is it really necessary for safety reasons?
@@mschauer97 For safety reasons? No clue honestly. Been awhile, but I do remember disconnecting it; wasn't that hard to do and it still works. It doesn't look like you can reach the drive without taking the keyboard out anyway, which wasn't the biggest deal in my attempt IIRC (getting it open and finding all the screws were.)
I would just say be careful, and take your time.
@@Paur ok thanks, for me it seemed to be a little unnecessary.. I'll take my time.
Really good video, explained simply and understandably. Thank you very much
Thank you for watching and comment, have a GOODTIME.
This was uploaded on my birthday!
Thanks for great video. What is the SATA interface for the Ideapad 100?
Guess l'm just gonna have to buy a new pc
7.0mm form factor SSD will do. i.e Kingston A400, Crucial MX500 or WD Blue 3D NAND
Thank you, have a GOODTIME....
Hi Sir...
What type and model of ram upgrade in your laptop, what that ddr3 or ddr3l and what is the maximum size of the upgrade ram? please help me...
because I want to change the ram and my laptop has the same specifications as yours.
Thank's..
Very good video.... super useful. Great job.
Do you have a video showing how to transfer old hard drive info over to new one?
Excellent review. Thank you ;)
Thank you for watching.
Have a GOODTIME.
what kind of ssd u use? 12.7 or 9 mm
Is it mandatory to remove keypad ?
Unfortunately it is. If you don't you won't be able to remove the bottom lid because the battery cable is wired that way. Plus there are screws that hold the bottom cover to the keyboard.
Thank you! It helped me a lot.
Good and clear video. Thanks!
Thank you.
Have a GOODTIME.
Would you still try this in 2023? Mine is running slow but it was on 24-7 for several years.
Sorry for late reply,
Yes sir i would give a try,
thank you, have a GOODTIME.
@@GOODTIMEStech I did it. Seems snappier, but it doesn't see the battery anymore, and shift on the keyboard doesn't work. I thought I got it apart easier than expected, but apparently something went wrong?
Yes, good and clear video but the up-loader doesn't show if the laptop is working after replacement. I tried this but when I start-up the laptop some of the keys on keyboard doesn't work (q,a,z) until wire strips damage. If possible, do not open or remove the keypad assembly nor the battery to avoid this problem.
so how can we remove the back case? it is connected with a cable to the front side, and we have to remove the keyboard in order to reconnect that cable?
Can i put ssd in the place of optical drive without using caddy?
very helpful. thank you!
mine has a lot more screws... under the keyboard that you don't show. I didn't realize at first and broke some. Other's I can't even find where they are. Can't even get my case off
Infomative video thanks
Great video thanks.
What disc drive do you have in that laptop? And what are the specs on it?
Hi sir, what is the specs of SSD you have installed? Thank u
If I were to install a caddy so I can use both the ssd and hdd, i can remove the cd unit and install the caddy right there? or is there something i should know before attempting that? i have that laptop.
thanks for the video, good and clear, very ilustrative
Hello.. maybe its a bit late to say but i have read in other comments that this pc read only cd unit in that unit so you have to replace the hdd you can t have both
is there an slot for the SSD or do i have to remove the HDD ?
same question i want to ask
If windows does not work, burn easy linux ISO on usb with unetbootin and use that, and install on ssd for trouble free computing.. Windows sucks sometimes
good work
7mm ssd work without 9.5mm adapter?
what is the model number of the SSD you used?
The SSD used for laptop in the video is SATA 120Gb SSD, you can try the link given in the description of the video, I have added the link now.
Thank you for watching the video, have a GOODTIME....
Which is the interface sata m.2 or nvme
SSD'S Are a rly good way to improve a PC
You forgat to say 3 screw under the keyboard. but thanks for the helping
There are 3 more screws under the keyboard that he had previously removed. You need to take these out before you can remove the bottom plate of the laptop.
Yes sir, thank you for the suggestion, surely this will be helpful to every viewer. I will make sure to cover such mistakes in my forth coming videos.
Thank you for watching the video, have a GOODTIME.
@@GOODTIMEStechYou really need to update your description pointing this out otherwise it will be Bad Times tech for people breaking their laptops.
@@endoflevelboss Thank you sir, i have updated the description.
Have a GOODTIME.

thanks!!!!!!!!
What ssd?
charger ???
Does this laptop has an M.2 slot? Please answer if you can? Thanks.
No this lapto does not have an m.2 slot
The blue strip make me nervous
If you have the correct tools, anything is possible.
omg, why is so hard
How if I want to add SSD and still want to keep my HDD??
@@youtubeusername84 nice idea... good to know..
@@youtubeusername84 This laptop doesnt even have CD-rom.
What the hell, half hour of commertials...
If you're going to upgrade to a SSD, why wouldn't you want to install one with more memory than just 120GB? That's wasted effort if you ask me.
Windows Sucks, Use Linux it is a better system.
You are actually very dumb
so linux + ssd ? really ?
