In this episode, we will check out apartment with smart features that will response to different needs at different times. Its really cool but there are some concerns.
We will need the same canvas setting in order to install such fixtures, which can be pretty challenging. Then the cost of installation versus a space that's actually bigger. Also, what's the point of staying in the city when we are working from home?
    Food for thought.

In Asia, we have 'smart home' since the 80s (if not earlier). We just shout "Ah boy/ah girl, off the light...off the fan"

I can relate so much to Sean’s reactions here haha. I even do the same eye roll when my friend ask me to smartify my home. Introducing more tech = introducing more points of failures to fix or maintain. Sometimes less is just more.

I seriously don't think we need such things in Malaysia yet as our property prices are still affordable compared to New York

You should see this RUclips channel named never too small which also has these kinda small houses of renowned interior designer as well. Quite good in a way to see clever utilisation of space.

I watch NTS religiously. I've watch this particular clip before, and i kinda get d feeling that this is a concept hse, not really someone's apartment. And yes, sean, i agree with u, i cringed at d boots indoors... Soooo DIRTY! HAHHAHAHHA

i think with that ceiling height, should be able to do the bunk bed/loft bed thing. I dont need this level of smartness yet (i think open and close window curtain or dim lights + play different sets of background music is good enough), i think i am too lazy to that that i might just keep the bed down forever, defying the whole purpose of getting that piece of furniture in the first place, if i have to take into consideration about have friends over and i dont want them to see the bed, and if loft bed is too suffocating (space wise) i will just get a sofabed which it will be more like a bed and sometimes a sofa.
for that unit, (based on my limited experience from only staying in warm climate) if i were the person that furnish the unit in the video i will get rid of the day bed, move the work station / work desk to the windows or against the wall, get a normal full size wardrobe next to the desk. I think the apartment can still fit a small dining table, which i will seriously consider to just get one larger work desk which can be used as dining table when needed. If i live here then i probably live alone, and eating in front of laptop is gonna be the norm. At most i prepare a projector lo, just in case 1 or 2 friend comes over? (im the kind of person who dont even hit fullscreen when watch youtube video cause i feel like there is too much area i need to actively look at so i just keep the player small)
i think they just trying to show us how the product can be a solution to different homes, maybe separately la, maybe one room just get one of the product then ok edi, in the demo there were 3 pieces next to each other thats why it has this "terlampau" feeling.

Hello Mr. Ng, do you know how expensive the NYC house costs? Just a studio apartment rent cost US$4000/month + electric and water! Yes, she wear boot and shoes into the house, culture is different. In addition, Alexa, Google, and Siri mostly don't recognize Malaysian English.

Hi actually I went to this new launched project at PJ South, named Helix by Eupe, it actually has this bay window, it kinda interesting as basically most of the project either offer balcony or without balcony, and it gives u another options to dress up your window side la. Besides hor all the facility is on the ground floor, I never understand why la, but sales agent say facility on ground floor can save maintenance fee wor, true meh?

The Japanese too were way more advanced in the tiny home concept, due to the demands of endless sub-parceling of land dictated by Japanese inheritance laws. E.g. kenchikukagu

Ikea convertible beds should suffice. I can only see longevity, structural, electrical and mechanical issues with a bed like that, esp so if you're very "active" using the bed. P.S. Xiaomi MESH ecosystems is way more affordable and expansive and fiddling free compared to the decentralized nature of a Google, Homekit or Alexa wifi based system with multiple brands of 3rd party items. P.S. 2% of existing Xiaomi Mihome products are opening up to Google and Alexa. On the flip side, IKEA Tradfri and Philips can work with Mihome. Globalisation may still have a chance to remain alive, that is until USA kills it
