I woke up with a pinched nerve a few years ago. That pain was absolutely brutal, totally paralyzing; I hate to see that happen to you. I've been totally enraptured by the nightmare mode series; you've never failed to impress. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing whatever comes next, especially if that means seeing the passion and dedication that I associate with your name. Swampletics got me into Runescape, a game I now how thousands of hours in. I had no idea what anything in your videos was, but your storytelling captured me, as it will continue to do for as long as you continue making content. Cheers.
Wishing you the absolute best comeback man!! I can relate a little: I had to take care of my mother for 2-3 months because of medical reasons, almost burning me out while seeing her slowly go down hill until she eventually passed away in january. Life can give you some messed up curveballs, but if there is anyone who can overcome such a slumb it is you! You've done so many things no one thought possible, so you can do this too!! 💪
I feel you on the pinched nerves, I was in some bad accidents in my life and I always ended up hurting my neck, it's now positioned in the opposite direction and I pinch nerves quite often. It's painful and it takes a lot away from you but some stretching everyday can really make a difference! Thanks for sharing and good luck on your journey! I'll be watching as always
Ugh Settled I work for one of the best Physical Therapists in LA and I wish I could help you. The same problem you have, I had, and I got back to 100% and beyond, my neck and scapula are bulletproof now, and I have helped dozens of people with the same exact diagnosis. If you’re not getting better with your current program hit me up. I would have you feeling 20% better after just the first session
It's good to hear that you are recovering well. Watching your background footage hit bit of nostalgia for me of you when you did your filling the treasure chest in poh series before you blew up with your swamp series. I'll be at Runefest this year, so hopefully I'll have the opportunity to see you and the others there too. Safe travels when your coming to England and take care. :)
The secret is to not immediately run to Bluesky. People think that it's better just because it's not owned by bad people but like no, It's still just twitter, it might be slightly better but acting like twitter only became bad after Elon bought it is comedic. It's been a horrible platform for years and moving to Twitter-lite isn't going to make your life better. Do your mental health a favor and just quit twitter and twitter-likes altogether .
@@titchbits1 I mean you're not wrong. The capacity of a management changeover to make an already terrible thing even worse is honestly kind of impressive.
In general, quit any social media where you don't have personal connections that depend on it. RUclips counts as entertainment, but Tiktok and Instagram reels (and RUclips shorts) are psychological abuse, while Twitter is just abuse in general.
Settled you are one of my biggest inspirations to keep playing OSRS, I've sunk hundreds of hours onto my main account doing mundane stuff like skilling while watching your videos. Hell, it was your videos that got me to to Barrows for the first time and I've been playing for ages, Got a D'haroks helm in my first chest too XD Even in low moments where OSRS isn't my go to game I'll rewatch your series because I love the way it's edited together and how it tells a story. Locking yourself to a swamp, moving one tile at a time, going for the ultimate "you can't hit me" life style! It's all so incredibly amazing that I have to rewatch them all, either in single video form like on a playlist, or those huge 10+hour long compilations. I don't think anyone can or will blame you for taking a break, especially to deal with something as major as your nerve being pinched. You keep going at your pace and we'll all love you all the same. You're Awesome and you'll keep being awesome till the end of time!
Been watching your stuff for multiple years, always love watching your series. I'm glad you're taking the time you need to process what you need to and get back to feeling well enough. I hope your next series will be one you can enjoy playing on the account, and you deserve every bit of the success you've had, even if you don't feel like it. Rock on man
Goddamn, man sending all the love. I was in a similar spot where I was in such a good place with my job, fitness, hobbies (including video games), but I needed carpal tunnel surgery because my left hand thumb and index finger were basically just giving up and could not hold anything. Took me about 4-5 months to get my hand to 80% of its original ability and strength. But mentally it was tougher. These slumps aren't easy, and they kick our ass, but i'm grateful we all find our ways out of them. Take your time and recover as much as you need to! The legend of Lowlife109 and Settled will never die. We love you, man
I feel like finishing up Nightmare mode will line up perfectly for a valamore only account with the goal being obtaining the quiver. Last Valamore part is slated for late spring 2025 and the whole area is pretty new and fresh. Similar to how Morytania has a lot of mysteries and secrets, Valamore has a lot players don’t know about. Especially to us OSRS watchers who don’t play much.
Thanks for sharing your experience going through PT. I just started to feel better in September, after having major health issues last year. Over that time I improved my diet and sleep regiment. And this year I'm exercising more! These things take time! Sickness is a normal part of life.
When I saw the title, my first thought was "oh god, he died didn't he?" I figured it was something stupid during setup, not even the challenge itself, and it sapped the creative energy for a while. But it was so much worse than I could have ever imagined! As someone who's struggled with depression my entire life, I can 100% relate to the feeling of going from "hey, I'm in a pretty good place right now" to "oh god, my entire world is collapsing" in what seems like the blink of an eye. It's great to hear that you're feeling better and the recovery is going well! You take as long as you need with the Nightmare Mode finale. I know it'll be worth the wait! Much love
Hoping you a great recovery! I’m in a similar situation except my injury was a dislocated knee. I have an active job and lifestyle, had just bought a house with my wife and was remodeling our kitchen and boom, unlucky injury that just flipped our lives upside down. But we are coming back in our own time! Take what life gives ya and make the most of it.
Nightmare mode looked like it was so stressful for you to play settled, it personally became somewhat hard to watch you playing with so much angst and stress, it’ll be nice for it to get some closure so you can go back to playing in a relaxed setting once more!
You completely deserve a Golden Gnome for the Fire Cape episode of Nightmare Mode. I have never been more invested in a RuneScape video in my life, was watching on the edge of my seat and celebrated you getting that cape like my team winning a trophy. Unbelievable content, you're far too hard on yourself. As long as it's making you happy, I sincerely hope you keep making content cause you are hands down one of the best RUclipsrs I've ever watched from any category.
You've had a string of misfortunes that would actually leave me a trainwreck. If I lost a multi-month project from a hard drive failure I'd be inconsolable. Very excited for the conclusion of stressful no-hit-man and good luck getting back to healthy habits!
Jesus my dude buy a NAS with multi-drive failover and hook it up to a cloud backup. Consider that a mandatory expense for your business because it IS one.
Exactly, and much faster and it doesn’t change meta data. OneDrive is known for messing with metadata an adding stuff to it. Just a nas in a RAID 10 setup and let the NAS (which is always on) backup to the cloud.
Dude, we literally just enjoy your content. You told us early on that Nightmare Mode posts wouldn't be weekly or even biweekly and we understand that stuff happens. I genuinely just love your content because of how much you put into explaining what you're doing in your challenges and taking every second to help me understand what you are planning on achieving in a given video. I have never really played much of members stuff so it makes me able to connect with your content better cause of all the explaination you give and your fun personality just makes it that much more enjoyable. The risk involved in Nightmare Mode is also of course a part of the pie but it pales in comparison with how you are as a person in your videos and from everything I've seen of you online and in other videos. Love your content and can't wait to see the finale of Nightmare Mode along with any later challenges you do, I'm in for the long haul.
I can absolutely relate with wanting to hit big subscriber goals, for a long time my goal was to hit 10k subs, when i finally hit that, i wanted 50k, then i got that and... now i want 100k. Gaining subscribers is awesome and it's a great way to show that you're creating good content, but if it is a mental detriment to making that good content or too much of a focus, it can absolutely hamper your enjoyment.
im brand new here, just found your videos a couple days ago, and have already watched all of tileman and swamplectics. You've managed to make me, someone who does not play this game, binge two 10+ hour videos nearly back to back cause your content is just that stellar dude. Definitely deserve the nominations, and absolutely deserve way more subs And as someone else that has had pinched spinal nerves, oof I'm so sorry. They're genuinely awful. I'm happy to hear you seem to be recovering well though!
@@ChloetteSK If I had my attitude now at 30 rather than the one I had at 19, the last decade would've been my golden era. You can call it being jaded, or wisdom.. whatever it is.
Bro I needed to see this video. I woke up 8 years ago with the same thing, but never got it fixed. No doctors would ever give me an MRI, X ray showed nothing, and I never officially got physical therapy for it due to on and off health insurance. Have dealt with this since 2017, still remember the day I woke up with it. I had an appointment to finally get checked out again yesterday and got extremely sick so have to wait 4 more months. Glad you got it fixed man, hope I will one day.
It’s so shit how you can be doing everything right in life and then something completely out of your control just fucks it all up. Glad you can stay positive and are doing better. The comeback is always better than the setback, right? :)
Thanks for sharing! Can definitely relate having spent the last year with undiagnosed stomach pain, definitely dampens other aspects of your life! Speedy recovery! Take it easy! And we’ll be here ready to watch intently when you’re feeling back on your game!
I'm sure you've already tried this but I had some stomach pains for a few months and a course of probiotics fixed the issue. Hope you feel better soon!
Oh damn! Crazy, the exact same thing is happening to me too since near the end of December. The motivation killer aspect and randomness is real. Slowly recovering and just got an epidural yesterday. Your swampletics series is what got me to start playing OSRS again and I’m having a blast. Here’s to hoping we both feel better soon! ❤
i had played runescape off and on for years, most of my life probably. id heard about it in passing here and there, seen memes - but it never clicked for me. not until i found your channel, and you showed me what was possible within the game. its since become one of the warmest, most reliable things in my life. it brings a serious comfort to me. swampletics, tileman, nightmare, every upload has had me jump out of my seat. one of the few youtubers i consider to be making outstanding content. i hope u can pick urself up from this rut, and rlly see that what u make is fantastic. ur humility is a great quality but it'd also be great for u to take more pride in this. just my two cents mwah mwah glad to hear u made a recovery
Huge respect for your positivity and grit to overcome obstacles. I don’t play runescape anymore and hardly know much about the game, but your videos and storytelling always inspire me to do my best and work hard for the things that bring me joy. Can’t wait to see your next challenge run, just make sure to take care of yourself as well!
Dude… your content is truly incomparable. Sure I binged all of tileman and swampletics 3 times in 2024, but in between those sessions the nightmare episodes were masterpieces. We’re with you!
I feel for you man, I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my routine that I've worked on over the last year. Wishing you all the best and hoping that you can recover so you get back into what makes you comfortable!
Just want to say you've got it man. I made my senior quote "The comeback is always bigger than the setback" this year in honor of you and the amount of joy you've put into my life. You were the reason I got in to Old School, don't pretend to be humble when we all know you're awesome.
I felt that when you were talking about your subscriber numbers equating to your self worth. I was having that experience in nursing school where I was letting my exam scores dictate how I felt about myself and my career. But now I’m more focused than ever on just giving my patients the best care I absolutely can, because that’s what really counts. And the same goes for you, man. Quality over quantity, you’ve got a great community who loves and supports you! Keep it up, and congrats on all the golden gnome nominations!
Just wanted to say you do you man. I've loved your content for years now, absolutely loved the Tileman series and got the YouTooz of it, and actually got my friend to get back into Runescape because of your videos! Mind you, he has found he doesn't really enjoy the game, but has found that he loves watching you play it. You always stun me with the knowledge you have for the game as well as the love for it. I hope you feel better and get back into a strive, but you take as much time as you need to do so! I will always rewatch all the series and continue to support new ones!
I been watching you for a few years now, and at this point is just nice to hear your voice and enthusiasm for this game. As someone who played back in the 2d days of Runescape its nice to watch someone who keeps the game fresh by playing in ardous and challenging ways. I hope your pinched nerve goes back to normal but don't feel rushed. We will always be here waiting for your next content to drop even if its just to chat about how your doing like in this video.
I found you during swampletics (i always goblin salute the broken RCB). It’s been so cool watching you grow as a content creator and I’ve enjoyed every step of the way. Every settled/unsettled video brings a smile to my face and reignites my love for this simple point and click game. Take care of yourself Settled, we all appreciate what you do for the community!
You literally got my wife, a cozy gamer, into RuneScape. She always asks "How's our boy doing?" You're a literal pioneer in this community and you matter so much to so many. We all believe in you ❤
I can't even count the times i've watched through your series'. Its the ultimate bedtime TV and its been a joy to see the journey/stories you've created over the years. Hope to see many more when ever you're healthy and ready to get them done!
This inspired me. Thank you so much for the content you produce. The way you handle setbacks makes me want to be better and do better. Good luck with the nightmare mode finale and I'm excited to see what's next
I totally get how you feel with everything changing overnight like that and it killing your drive. For me it was from an accident that basically meant I couldn't be a pro-wrestler anymore, a dream career I had only just gotten my foot in the door for. It really killed by drive to do anything for a good long while as I came to terms with the injury I now live my life with, but it did get better. It'll get better for you too.
hey man @unsettledrs , glad to have you back!! Don't overwork yourself, you are in the right path and the 1M will come man, so don't stress much. Also I understand the decision of quitting social media in general, not using any since 2 yrs ago and it improves a lot your life. Take care of your health and i hope to see more videos soon, love your work bro.
As a fellow creator who also experienced sudden nerve issues this past year I truly relate to the struggle. I hope your spine goes easy on you and you regain your momentum again. We'll be here for the finale
You take your time Settled, do whatever you need. It's crazy, man... I started watching you at the start of Swampletics and followed the series as it aired, and I had graduated college by the time it finished. I'm still watching every single upload, main channel and this one, to this very day. From studying for tests to my upcoming wedding, I've been enjoying your content. We (your community) has seen many of your ups and downs, but you know what they say? THE COMEBACK IS ALWAYS GREATER THAN THE SETBACK!
Better luck NECKS time. I actually had something similar happen to me twice where my neck also locked up with about as much limited mobility. My head was stuck left and I couldn't touch my right ear to my shoulder for a couple weeks after it got worked out. Hope to see more of Lowlife109 soon, I look forward to seeing it in my recc's when I pull up RUclips!
Your videos radiate such infectious joy that each new drop instantly brightens our day-smiles are practically guaranteed. You pack boundless, spirited optimism into every new challenge, taking a beloved game to downright hilarious extremes in ways only you can. No amount of health hurdles or second-guessing can overshadow the fact that your voice belongs here. Your creativity inspires, and we’re all rooting for you. :)
I feel you on the pinching a muscle in your neck. That was me in 2023. I did a stretch at work and felt that spasm in my back that said I pulled a muscle. After my neck felt better, I got a fun radiating pain down my arm. It just didn't stop, and 4 months later I finally went to a chiropractor to get it fixed. I still can't sleep in normal beds or the pain flares back up. I'm glad you're feeling better homie.
When I snap back into reality every few months and binge your content again it really is a unique experience in terms of watching youtube- so for sure you will hit 1m and I'll be here when that happens because you make phenomenal content, and I trust you'll keep that up.
I can relate. I've been dealing with long COVID for over a year now. Since mid 2023, I had dealt with a respiratory infection followed by COVID. I also sprain my ankle which took a few weeks to recover from. I have tried numerous times to get back to the gym, only to end up stuck at home due to illness or injury. It's like, I want to try to get into some kind of routine, but things keep kicking my ass. It really feels discouraging and depressing to want to do things to make yourself better, only for something to come around and go, I don't think so. I think I'm starting to finally get over long COVID thankfully. I just want to finally do things like lift weights or practice Karate regularly. So I understand being in a slump. You just have to tell yourself that you do what you can with what you have and try again when you're able. I also see a Chiropractor for neck and shoulder issues, so I definitely understand muscle tension problems. The Chiropractor I see in particular has helped a lot.
As a fellow neck nerve issue haver, condolences brother. Also almost always happens in my sleep. Its brutal. Sometimes a neck brace can help with support to make the pain more tolerable while its happening.
Been watching for about 6 years now. You always rise to the occasion broski. Every once in a while you just got to pull yourself out of that slump and get back to the basics. Good luck in 2025, and I look forward to seeing that sweet sweet content
Man do I feel you. Still don’t know exactly what I did, but back a while ago I had hurt something in my back while working out (PSA to always have proper form during back exercises). Half a year worth of lumbar pain ensued and it was right at the start of me really achieving a healthy life. What sucked the most was I literally was attended my commencement ceremony for my bachelor’s degree the same day I realized my back was revolting against me. Eventually I did find ways to deal with it, after my own research and PT. I finally have no more pain and have been able to redevelop healthy routines.

The same problem you have, I had, and I got back to 100% and beyond, my neck and scapula are bulletproof now, and I have helped dozens of people with the same exact diagnosis. If you’re not getting better with your current program hit me up. I would have you feeling 20% better after just the first session
Homie doing underground pass with his neck in his sleep.
7:30 I am going to say it: everyone should quit twitter. It was always bad.
But it's gotten at least 14-88 ways worse lately xD
Hell, it was your videos that got me to to Barrows for the first time and I've been playing for ages, Got a D'haroks helm in my first chest too XD
Even in low moments where OSRS isn't my go to game I'll rewatch your series because I love the way it's edited together and how it tells a story.
Settled experiencing the transition from 29 to 30 early D:
3:18 " The thing with nightmare mode is it's just... Really a nightmare"
Sucks to get old dude. I woke up 2 months ago with the same issue. Thought I was going to die everytime I sneezed. Glad youre better.
Been watching your stuff for multiple years, always love watching your series. I'm glad you're taking the time you need to process what you need to and get back to feeling well enough. I hope your next series will be one you can enjoy playing on the account, and you deserve every bit of the success you've had, even if you don't feel like it. Rock on man
I accidentally clicked the youtube notification when trying to open a message and it was the best mistake I ever made
Goddamn, man sending all the love.
Whatever you do, we'll be here. Stay you, stay sane.
Good thing that Settled isn't in Nightmare mode or that neck damage would've been the end.
Thanks for being so dedicated to your craft. I promise to binge watch anything you produce!
It drives me nuts when people who's job revolves around not losing data lose data, I hope he reaches out to someone willing to walk him through raid
Definitely deserve the nominations, and absolutely deserve way more subs
And as someone else that has had pinched spinal nerves, oof I'm so sorry. They're genuinely awful. I'm happy to hear you seem to be recovering well though!
Welcome to getting older :(
Every couple years there's a new update for ya and the patch notes are never good.
It all goes downhill after 25 :(
You trade some physical for the benefit of knowledge and wisdom, growing older ain't bad at all.
Yo... 2:47 did you just chance the nightmare account or can the goblin not hit anything higher than a 0 in that setup or what?
That goblin had a 0.63% chance to hit a 1 on him. So yes, but also no.
@@AutomatedChip why even chance it 😭
You misses an episode apparently
Much love, friend. Your optimism is noticed and appreciated and contagious!
It’s so shit how you can be doing everything right in life and then something completely out of your control just fucks it all up.
Glad you can stay positive and are doing better.
The comeback is always better than the setback, right? :)
EXACTLY
Thanks for sharing! Can definitely relate having spent the last year with undiagnosed stomach pain, definitely dampens other aspects of your life!
Speedy recovery! Take it easy! And we’ll be here ready to watch intently when you’re feeling back on your game!
I'm sure you've already tried this but I had some stomach pains for a few months and a course of probiotics fixed the issue. Hope you feel better soon!
Next account idea. 1 punch man. Completing as many bosses as you can with your fists account name ideas: Mage Tyson, IrnMikeTyson, Void Mayweather.
No way that can work... You need the accuracy boost from the weapons.
... Right?
@@ChronoSquare there is a guy who does punching only but i dont remember his channel name. Hasnt posted in a while
So happy to hear from you sir! Hope everything keeps getting better for you!
bro I legit voted for you on the Golden gnomes before this upload, love your stuff, I fall asleep to tileman so often, you're the best
Dude was so afraid of receiving damage ingame, he inflicted self damage during sleep. Glad you are back!
i had played runescape off and on for years, most of my life probably. id heard about it in passing here and there, seen memes - but it never clicked for me. not until i found your channel, and you showed me what was possible within the game. its since become one of the warmest, most reliable things in my life. it brings a serious comfort to me. swampletics, tileman, nightmare, every upload has had me jump out of my seat. one of the few youtubers i consider to be making outstanding content. i hope u can pick urself up from this rut, and rlly see that what u make is fantastic. ur humility is a great quality but it'd also be great for u to take more pride in this. just my two cents mwah mwah glad to hear u made a recovery
also omfg the title of this vid made my heart drop
Was literally thinking about lowlife109 last night, and went to your channel. Thanks for the update! Hope your feeling better.
I am shocked. The EXACT same thing happened to my neck during the exact same timeframe. Sorry to hear this man and glad to hear you are doing better!
We love you bro, glad you took care of yourself. Happy to hear you’re feeling better after your pinched nerve. Looking forward to any new content!
Just want to say you've got it man. I made my senior quote "The comeback is always bigger than the setback" this year in honor of you and the amount of joy you've put into my life. You were the reason I got in to Old School, don't pretend to be humble when we all know you're awesome.
We are here for your highs and lows man. Appreciate the update and glad you are feeling better!
Wishing you a swift continuation of recovery. And also, you defo deserve those nominations
We will always be here waiting for your next content to drop even if its just to chat about how your doing like in this video.
hope your neck feels better soon and these things come in ebb and flow, you'll be back to the grind and stronger in no time!
"The comeback is always greater than the setback" -Settled
Big viewer and supporter brotha! Love your content and wish you the absolute best!
This inspired me. Thank you so much for the content you produce. The way you handle setbacks makes me want to be better and do better. Good luck with the nightmare mode finale and I'm excited to see what's next
Excited to see the uim come back! That series inspired me to make my uim so many years ago, and it's been difficult to get invested in tileman or 1hp.
You got me back into rs from a 10 yr break. any settled content is good content! keep doing what you do brother
Good to see you back!
WELL DAMN. Yknow what? Huge respect on being able to make it though this, man. I beleive in you
Your videos radiate such infectious joy that each new drop instantly brightens our day-smiles are practically guaranteed.
I lost the use of my arm pinching a nerve while sleeping. Took months of physio to regain full use.
