I feel the same for Tooie. I loved and beat it back in 2000, but out of all the rare games I never went back because it seemed so daunting. However when it came to NSO I finally beat the game for the second time in 24 years. Tooie is so good.
There's a moment in Banjo-Kazooie where a jiggy requires a move from a later world. In Kazooie, this was an annoying flaw. For Tooie, this was the blueprint for the entire game.
I'm really enjoying my first proper Tooie playthrough on NSO. When you treat it like a metroid game and just move on when you unlock the right move, it really does make a difference. Save backtracking for much later in the adventure.
I haven't listened to the full podcast but my personal opinion is that Tooie is a better game than Kazooie and almost any other Rare game in a vacuum where you have unlimited time. lol, like Tooie has 180 Points of awesomeness overall but you can get the 100 points out of Kazooie in half the time.

Great podcast guys

It only happens once in Kazooie IIRC. When you have to get the speed shoes.. and go back and race Boggy. That wasn’t to much of a nuisance?
DK Vine Done Slow! - Banjo Tooie when?
Isn't every playthrough of Banjo-Tooie Banjo-Tooie Done Slow?
I know, i want it too.
You guys should consider having 3 speakers on the podcast instead of just 2 more often. Idk, just a random thought I've had a few times.

The Stop n Swop disappointment sounds to me like my own feelings when the 64DD failed to ever arrive in the West.
