Very imaginative and creative use of percussion and elements of a traditional drum set up. Enjoyed the variety of sounds and the independence technique. Great job!

Awesome awesome super also really great man Metal magic are they talking about it the big electronic drum set the background massive fro massive happy boxing
at first i thought you were going to be crap due to the ''metal magic'' but than you wipped out the whole cowbell and seperate bass pattern and stuff thing and i was like whaaooggh you actually have talent wow so just yeah well done :)
Hey Timbo.... Great to see your message mate. I just saw this message today. (I better check my youtube messages a bit more often).. Now to be praised publicly by mine and the world's favorite true "King of Speed" and drum wizard is an HONOUR !!! Love and friendship to you mate..... Chris... :) :)
Now that's cool but then I would expect that from Chris Brien, my first drum teacher who taught me in high school. If Chris never taught me the basics of drumming I would never of become the talented drummer that I am today.
Chris Brien who am I? well my name is Daniel, you came to my school at Mater Maria college in 1994 and 1995 and you used to give me lessons before school.
Um. I remember those Tuesday mornings teaching at Mater Maria in that little room between the two music class rooms which we called "The Cooler" as it was cold in winter and hot in summer. I vaguely remember the name Daniel but from memory there were a few Daniels...
Wow you remember a lot, well my name is Daniel Ostrosko and I wanted to thank you for all the teaching you gave me, because of your early influence I continued to pursue drumming I moved to the central coast studied for 4 yrs under Chris Mc Gaig at his drum school and I became the first Graduate of the school which is now called beat Industry in Tuggerah, I've now been playing for 22yrs and I have 5 certificates in drumming.
Hey Daniel. that's fantastic news and thank you for your kind words.... it's always very rewarding hearing from past students who have continued their drumming journey..... I know Chris Mc Caig. I gave a drum clinic in his store back in 2008. If you follow this link you will see some highlights from that clinic. I played on a very nice PDP drum set. Is the bass response good with the soft beaters? I haven't received mine yet, but trying to decide if I should get a cajonport to get more bass for my own "box kit"
Yes the response is good with the soft beaters as well as preventing damage to the cajon. Regarding a cajonport, at the end of the day a cajon is going to sound like a box because it is a box. Nevertheless, a cajon kit is extremely portable and a ton of fun to play. Enjoy your future "Box Kit" and thanks for watching. C.B.
mdlassel hi mate. Ah... “That Hi-Hat Technique”... I don’t know the “Technical name”, however I call it “Fanning”.. as it reminds me of a fan. You simple hold the stick in the middle of the stick and simply rotate your wrist. The way in which I hold it is as follows: I place the stick between the base of my index finger and thumb, my other fingers DO NOT touch the stick.... “If you don’t give it a go, You will never know”... I hope this helps... Happy Drumming.... Chris Brien.... :)
Hi. As I mentioned at the beginning of the video, I am literally using the bracket from the Gibraltar Cajon pedal to attach regular bass drum pedals to the Cajons. Understanding that how the Gibraltar Cajon pedal works is that there is a bracket which you attach to the bass of the Cajon which then allows you to attach the Gibraltar Cajon pedal to it as the pedal and bracket are two separate pieces. Not liking the sluggish feel of the pedal part of the Gibraltar Cajon pedal , I simply attached a regular pedal to the bracket BUT with Cajon bass drum beaters. I hope this makes sense to you. Thanks for watching.,.. Chris Brien..... “Happy Drumming”
Love it! Great playing and ingenuity. Can you please tell me what snare that is and how it is mounted? I have a similar setup but am lacking in the snare department. Thanks!
Hello. What I did was use a regular Gibraltar cajon pedal (which comes with a cable driven bass drum pedal and an attachment clamp which attaches to the underside of the cajon) BUT instead of using the Gibraltar cable driven bass drum pedal (of which you may know is very sluggish) I simply attached a regular Gibraltar bass drum pedal to the Gibraltar bracket which attaches to the cajon..... I hope this info helps..... Thanks for watching.... C.B.
Hi there. what I did was use a Gibraltar Cajon bass drum pedal assembly BUT instead of attaching the "Lazy" Gibraltar cable bass drum pedal to the Gibraltar bracket which attaches to the cajon, I simply attached a standard bass drum pedal to the bracket. It works much better than those horrible cable bass drum pedals... Thanks for watching... C.B. :)
Hey C.B. Thx..Yes!! i agree 100%. Def the GB cajon pedal is lazy. Even though i lubricated both ends of the cable B4 A Gig the cable busted on me twice at the same gig the second time i used it ugh.!! I finally did attached it to the cajon bracket it is amazing!! Thnx Again!!
I have a Meinl cajon pedal that has worked pretty well for me. Maybe not quite as much speed and precision as some regular bass drum pedals, but pretty consistent and easy to use overall.
Not particularly. It's more than likely due to the sound quality of the microphone on the camera (but then maybe the hats are too loud for some peoples ears) . It's all good :) ........Thanks for watching.... C.B.
Fred Sandoval it's funny that you say (cardboard boxes).. As I find it extremely funny seeing drummers in music stores spending so much money on really expensive cajons, when at the end of the day... it's just a box.......
