The real problem with this system, as I heard in another RUclips video by Audioholics, is that it needs your surrounds (and every other speaker in your setup) to be almost full band capable and you must have a lot of amplification muscles because your speakers will have to work a lot more. Something most home systems don't have and I'm afraid will never have in the non-professional price range.
This is a game changer for me, right now I can't find the correct color to match the living space for my acoustic panels, nor can I find the digital artwork either. So with this I can order the authentic paintings I want for my wall and not worry about hurting the quality of the sound in the room. Thanks for the info!

Can't wait to get ART for my new Denon X4800H. Currently using the plain Dirac Live and I'm very happy. it sounds better than Audyssey, especially for music. With movies, I'm unable to tell the difference when switching between the two. Too bad that you cannot activate Dynamic EQ with Dirac. I'll have to save multiple configs if you want to increase bass for low level listening.

I don't think it will be updates to get Dirac ART. It will be shure that it will be available for maybe Onkyo, Pioneer and Marantz/Denon but not in 2024. It would be too close. I think it will be part of new lines of products later and the firsts will be the high expensive AVR's.
Adding subs makes it easier, not harder to control the bass.

There will be video sync issues due to the delayed responses from speakers producing inverted polarity signals.

As i eagerly await my Dragon, i was looking to see what i can do for the room to help offset the bombastic awesomeness and poor builder insulation, so that my family on the opposite side of the house is not feeling the bass from my favortie movies. I have been looking at differenf panels and bass traps which will unfortunately shrink the dimensions of the room making me feel like Randy from the Christmas story when his mom bundled him up to go outside. The plot thickens. Only if the Dragon would incorporate this tech....
hello ealan , i have 6 bookshelf speakers , 2 fronts , 1 center & a dual single subwoofer , been in a cupboard for 7 years , i want to get it all working in a traditional 9.1 , roof speakers not a option , what new av-r should i get ? followed this channel for about a 1 year , ur videos have helped me rekindle the bug . thanks
Hmmm…since a traditional 9.1 system has front wides, probably a good bet is a preamp like the Emotiva MC1 and a couple BasX amps adding up to 9 channels. AVRs that support front wides are usually the more expensive varieties, like the X6700H from Denon (regularly $3,299). But an MC1 + A5 + A4 amps would set you back roughly $2,260. Isn’t that wild? Could be a viable option if you want those front wides. 😎🎉
@@ealanosborne i was wondering about where im going to plug the front wides into , i was also thinking about just not using the front wides & going with a 7.1 system , i did watch one of ur videos yesterday all about front wides which was really good . i have been looking at the 3800 denon which is more my price range , has options to maybe upgrade more in the future . atm im really looking foward to getting what ive got all working & then spreading my wings from there . got to say though ur videos have been great for me bridging the gap & re learning what ive missed out on as far with home theater , very thankful for that

Pretty sick. Hopefully, it trickles down to Denon and others soon. I wish Anthem used Dirac. Do you have any experience with their ARC Genesis RC? Their AVM 70 scores well in sinad measurements on AudioScienceReview. Denon's top stuff scores a bit better but Anthem's web-based GUI is phenomenal. I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit of noise to use Anthem if their RC is as good as Dirac.
I haven’t dealt with Anthem yet since they are notorious for ignoring content creators like myself and their products are too expensive to just buy outright. But hopefully someday! 🤞🤞

Dirac with their new ART technology, and Sony with their Spatial Sound Mapping, being able to acoustically treat a room without acoustic panels or perfect speaker placement.

I don't believe that would work. I think actual room treatment would far surpass the software. There are tricks you can use using room treatment so that it's wife-approved. The trick I can think of is put up some decorative element, make it look really pretty to the wife's approval, and secretly use that to stuff some absorbing material or use it as a diffusor. Of course I haven't thought of anything specific yet...but eventually I will.
I got a better "trick" to enhance your room in any way you want... Don't get married 😂😂. Nothing needs approval in my home.
