Congratulations! A durian orchard is a multi-generational gift. If that river floods you will need tall mounds/busut to 3m tall x 3m x 3m to prevent root rot, thats if you do not have any high ground. Good luck!
I wish that people in my Midwestern state would do the same kind of multi-generational thing more often with grafted hickories, chestnut hybrids, pawpaws, persimmons, and pecans.
How is the village spelled ? I want to go to Borneo again since I'm still in SEA. The 2 months there last year wasn't even nearly enough. Love the island ♥️
Miracle berry can be grown from branch cutting very easily. If they get a little to tall just cut the top and stick it in the ground. Even the small branches start well without root tone. Miracle berry seeds take forever.
I get a lot of frost damage if I don't put them in a very sheltered position, the seedlings take 5-7 years to get their first fruit. I have never tried to grow from a cutting, I am going to try this tomorrow. I hope it works🤞
@@AwesomeFish12 Frost, ouch. My cuttings took about 6 months to start growing again, but when they did the new growth was hearty and often. I may make a video on this result as a few of my friend have found this technique helpful! Aloha!
I would have thought that white mango was a potato. Durio do like well drained soil. How dangerous are the insects in Borneo? Nice work! Keep planting.
At 15:40 you're looking at a volunteer wild seedling that you call pineapple - that thing sure looks a lot more like an eggplant to me.. ..ananas vs aubergine?
Time to plant some mango seeds! 5 empty nursery bags! ...cut 😂 What an excellent way to keep an orchard. Girdled. The electric company girdled the tree.
It seems impossible to book accommodation online for places like this or even in Serian. Do you just show up in towns and walk in to book a night or two?
@@allthefruit Thanks will try calling. I had to stay in Kuching and didnt make it to Sibu in the end. Flew to KK direct from Kuching to do a tour. I'm now back in Miri. They have a really good Sunday market here, have good range of fruit except Durian. Only small quantities of wild Durian at high prices. I go to Sibu next, and then Sri Aman. Any recommendations on whete to stay in Sri Aman?
6:00 jambu bol/jambu jamaika (S. malaccense), quite fragrant, bland, soft flesh and leave you with dry mouth. not really satisfying jambu for me. there are so many better jambu variety/species in SEA, or plant jaboticaba instead 😅 26:34 when he said "nona manis", he meant "sweet girl" (but he was joking)
That longhouse is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Wow.
Yeah

Wow. Very exciting!
Thank you
You have a *very cool* friends willing to plant new trees for you!
Yes
You will receive the key to the city soon, nice job!
As long as i receive a fruit plot
@@allthefruit It doesn't hurt to dream 😂
Others dream but we should plant
That syzygium will do VERY well in that location. It's always better to use land rather than waste it on grass, decoratives and empty space.
True

And plant a couple trees there 😂

Thank you. The mosquitoes transmit diseases
@@allthefruit Ever had malaria? I imagine you have suffered a variety of "ordinary" ailments for the area in your time acclimatizing.
Not yet but many of the others

Yeah, of course terong pipit is an eggplant 😂 no idea why i call it pineapple here. Thanks for the correction

We go to Miri soon for the sunday market. In Sri Aman i always stay at Mega Inn
@@allthefruit There's no Vegetarian restaurants in Sri Aman that I can find, where do you eat or do you just go full fruitarian mode while here? 😅
Plant 78 types dabai, kembayao, durian dlcis, enkela, miracle berries, safou, copal
That sounds worth visiting

Did i? Was i? 😂
@allthefruit no, i mean the bidayu man
nona = girl/miss, manis = sweet
Pity its difficult to import and export seeds into there. Every passionflower would have a great time in the equatirial climate
Yes, they are slowly being introduced
I like your accent
Thank you
