- NO SOUND WARNING - but I did caption it, so break out your favorite playlist!
Filmed all of this to discover MY CAMERA STOPPED RECORDING SOUND!
I tried captioning it best possible, but I figure something is better than nothing.
long story short, I shined up the protective lens in front of the CRT, installed the good CRT from the donor, finished the recap, some resistors, a diode set and did some setups
In the end it looks good. probably as good as one of these budget oriented ge sets get.
so next video will be with a new camera....I don't like it as much as this one, but it also records sound and has a bigger lens, so there's that. Наука
I’m just happy to see you back doing videos whether we have sound or not. At least you have something out there to show us you’re still here alive and well at least I pray you’re doing OK and well family wise as well.
Missed you man hope all is well glad to see you posted again
Thanks man, just catching up with life.
Great to see you back again and looking forward to hearing you again in the next video.
Good to see a video from you .The Sansui still works great!
I am impressed with how clean the recapped chassis is. Looks better than when the accounting department at GE got finished reducing costs.
Awesome i like how you did the captions
Happy you're back mate! I bet you had the s**ts when the camera clapped out . Either way it's good you're here :)
Had one. Wish I had it still. I have no idea what makes these so cool to me. Part of it is the 1957 Chevy look and the relatively light weight for what it is. They are real buggers to service, though. You are a brave man! It's so funny. When Samantha's cousin came on screen, I thought the vertical linearity was off! Beehive hairdos will get ya every time. 😂 Really nice work, sir!
Shango066 dealt with one of these sets a few years ago; it was branded Hotpoint but had a similar GE chassis.
Good to see you back JP. 😎 (I prefer captioning as I'm hard of hearing).
I have this same TV set they are a pain to work on lol.
It looks great, nice job! It must have been a royal pita to put all of those captions in there afterwards
Ayup. Figured that was better than having to toss the entire thing. Didn't have the hardware to overdub and couldn't retrieve the video off the phone without it corrupting.
@@JordanPier I watched the entire vid with captions, and it was fine. It was sort of like asmr tv repair lol
beautiful TV! So nice, I think Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith will do....
Wasn’t Mell Brooks in this silent movie too?
Sorry Jordan, I would leave a comment here, but my keyboard failed.
🤫 ✌👍
No sound?
Where you been mane?
Busy with life and work bs.
redue with sound please
That's a negative rafter man.
Original file was without sound
What?
Change all the capacitors in the camera
Pretty much a fail without sound. Too bad. I can't watch this kind of video without sound.
Was unavoidable unfortunately. Made the best of it. Everything forward is being shot with a new camera.
why not overdub instead of subtitles ???? without any sound it aint worth watching ... sorry
Couldn't get it successfully transferred from the phone so I had to work with what I had unfortunately
