Morals are dying. Toxic behavior is normalized and no one is perfect so of course there’s gonna be so many famous people nowadays being problematic. Cancel culture happens bc the fans are not perfect either. We all have these behavior flaws. Things are also too justified that’s why I narrow it down to no one can be perfect with anything we do or try. And it seems like the world is gonna get worse from here. I don’t think people are any worse than they’ve ever been. We simply put a spotlight on a wider range of bad behaviors committed by public figures. i think this video would have been much better received if it were not centered around an alleged sa. describing this scenario as drama and staying neutral in order to be objective is quite strange considering the context. i have found this argument to be very common though, which is whats so disheartening. that somehow the harsh state of our justice system is playing into how we ostracize people for being abusive, whether it be online or in person. when in reality, both our justice system and societal norms actually do a great job at letting sexual predators off the hook. abusers are forgiven by their friends and family as well as the law, and if not forgiven then met with great skepticism aimed at the victim in the situation. out of all the crime you could do, sa is one of the least prosecutable. its hard to have this discussion under the idea of fairness, when the victims of sa are always made to carry the burden of proof in these situations. literally any other crime would have been great for this video but sa just doesnt fit the bill imo

I would’ve never thought that a seemingly normal person could turn out to be so troubled and complex. You’ve worded everything perfectly as if its my thoughts on the situation being read aloud, hopefully people acknowledge these issues you addressed, especially the ones relating to “people who think they know everything” which is something that concerns me the most

Just found this channel and I agree with a lot of what you said but disagree with some. I think it is fair for people to forever see you differently because you did something horrible. They have the right to not give you a second chance. No one is "owed" a second chance from the ppl they hurt. Bill Cosby could go to therapy but I'm still forever not going to trust him. That's the issue with rehabilitation is you have to trust the person and some of these ppl are just plain untrustworthy

Cancellation system it's disgusting... I also think people can change if they want to and receive professional help in deeper situations, but I see a lot of people saying "if you did something bad, you are and always will be a bad person". Accepting that idea means that you think you are exactly the same person, with the same ideas and personality than 10 years ago and that who you are now even though you don't like thinks about your personality and want to change them, you never will be able to change those things even if you get professional help. Thank you Oli for all your vids, I love people who made videos about important subjects but most important, people that ARE NOT JUDGMENTAL and always tries to be FAIR!

I’m afraid to scan through the comments on this video because, as you predicted, you might be getting a lot of heat about your opinions. But I want to say: I have recently became acutely aware of the problematic nature of the “Twitter justice system”, and how easily people convince themselves that they are experts in any situation they hear about on social media and don’t think twice before passing judgment in a sometimes permanently damaging way. I want to thank you for speaking up about this. Even when you express your opinions, even when you say things that I might not 100% agree with, you do so in a respectful and thought-provoking manner and I really appreciate you so much for that! 🙏🏻

Hi~ Since there is already a lot of supportive comments, I will say something different lol. I don't know why but the way you present the contents seems to only enforce people with their initial views, (possibility making them feel a sense of superiority as the "clear, rational outsiders" who understands the whole situation) It would be interesting to see more of the process of how you came to such conclusions to a certain issue, for example, what video you watched in the process, how much information you had on the issue. So the viewers can feel the sense of "human objectivity" other than the superiority as the minorities that holds the same view about internet culture. This might also expand your viewer base- Anyway, you go girl.

You are spot on. A book from the 1980s names The Culture of Narcissism had the following quote:
"When feeling despair, they tend to seek out others with whom they can idealize and identify, in order to bask in these others' glow."
    Christopher Lasch
"When we admire the accomplishments of others, we make them our own."
    Voltaire
Looks is driven by evolutionary need to pass on our genes, according to scientists, much as for peacock.
I've noticed that the.mosr viewed "Van Life" videos, though very interesting, are mostly posted by attractive young females. We kasi know that 80 to 90 % of "attention" is scored by 10 to 20% of the men. A whopping 40% of men do not procreate and the number is increasing with the obsession of looks and vicarious celebrity on social media, one of many effects of Narcissism that Dr. Lasch feared.

Love your vids, one thought I’ve noticed recently is that in real life there aren’t true heroes and villains. Every “good” person has done bad things and every “bad” person has done good things. Your Hitler example is a perfect analogy, and the fact that we chose celebrities often without looking at their character means they we’re going to pick people with unsavory characters, even if we like some of what they do.
