Next time you visit Jarabacoa, try The Woods Jarabacoa. It’s a restaurant/ beer brewery owned by a Lebanese couple. The view is amazing and the food is great. I’m from Jarabacoa and I just bought land there to build my family vacation home. 🥰
First of all, I'm so grateful for having tourist like you sharing your experiences in my country, and that you can show to the public DR is not just resorts, as you mention in most of your videos. Second I wanted to point out that our most valuable resource along with the people, is our land. DR is a small country but as our slogan says, we have it all. You don't have to own a villa in the East or the North, you can just rent for a getaway for the weekend, or go for a day pass. Is very popular to rent in family or group of friends, specially in during long weekends. For Dominicans doesn't feel like "you not in DR" because we grow up experiencing all those different ecosystems, and what is normal for us is actually all this differences in such as small land, that also reflects in the different features or even accents that the Dominican population have. I wish you guys can visit "Bahia de las Águilas" in Pedernales, the south of DR, I think you will love it. Greetings from a Dominican living in Vancouver 🇨🇦!
Thank you so much 😊 We luv reading comments like this. Your country is incredible and we so can’t wait to see more. You’re not the first to recommend the south west that’s for sure 😉- Anna
The villas in Jarabacoa are mostly owned by wealthy Dominicans and some North American/European expats. A lot of wealthy Dominicans will have a primary home in a city and a second home in the mountains, beaches or countryside.
THIS ! THIS IS WHERE I WOULD GLADLY TAKE A VACATION 🤩! Honest to goodness, if I didn’t know where you had travelled to, I wouldn’t have guessed in a gazillion years that it was located in the Dominican Republic 😮. Luxury Japanese inspired villa, peaceful atmosphere, ‘City of Eternal Spring’?! In love 😍!
hey D Travellers I like your Videos and your chuzpah. I'm a gringo who has travelled throughout DR over 20 times for the past 10 years. I know alot about Jarabacoa, eternal springs in Taino, also referred to as the Dominican Alps up in the Montanas with evergreen Pine and Cypress Trees. You must visit the 2Great Waterfalls or Saltos: Salto Jimenoa and Salto Baiguate both just breathtaking. Also make a drive to Guazaras a "Balneario", bathing place along the Jimenoa river, where the locals go to Relax: Drink, Eat, Dance,in the River with Families. Also don't miss the unbelievable Arepa- thick hearty cornbread, sold all along the Road into Jarabacoa. Be In Touch Bruno
Thank you for such a wonderful video. It brings back childhood memories. Jarabacoa was the place of summer camps for kids. The smell of pine trees, horseback riding and even campfires at night. ❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲
Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures. In the 1956 the dictator Rafael Trujillo signed a treaty with Japan to accept migrants to settle in Jarabacoa but when Trujillo was killed in 1961 there was a lot of chaos in DR and many of the Japanese family abandon the settlement. Some went to Europe and back to Japan, only a few family stayed.
Hi, beautiful jarabacoa can’t wait to go back there from Miami, my brother has a villa and I love it specially in the morning is like being in heaven, so glad you are showing that part of my country
Art in the closets? What? Im a new Canadian born in the Caribbean-Colombia, and I’m absolutely in love with that Villa, it’s a very well done blend of Japanese style / art with local materials and even Frida art? Such a treat! I’ll trade any coffee or water bottles in the fridge for being surrounded by that art anytime! Thanks Trevor and Anna for exploring DR, I’m telling everyone I know that DR is so much more than Punta Cana!
Hi guys, I stumbled upon your channel and I throughly love seeing your growth and appreciation for the DR as you get to experience it's fullness. Hope you guys get to see everything the island has to offer. The DR has 6 different topographical areas to include, tropical rain forest, deserts, pine forest, and of course beaches. You guys are inspiring us to go back to the DR. Enjoy!
@play eso no es nieve es escarcha porque las condiciones climaticas no permiten una nevada como tal tambien lo he visto y los arboles congelados porque mi familia es de Constanza
Hi guys, great and different video. The area of Jarabacoa and Constanza (is colder and covered with pines trees, native to the island cousins of the North American pines), the architecture is sort of Swiss chalets Dominican style. The Japanese you rented, although beautiful, there some stunning traditional style chalets that are breathtaking. There are some new projects that really display the ingenuity and versatility of Dominican architects. The owners are mostly Dominicans, in two hours or less they can be in a peaceful, nature environment away from be the capital city. Also, as you see more of DR you will see the amazing talents this island has, construction of furniture, tiles, artists and artisans. Cheers.
Hello! The dominican Dream is work and live in Santo Domingo and having a second home either in the mountain or by the Beach. The 'potato' you ate is cepa de apio.
Saludos 🇩🇴
Hey 👋 I love your videos. I moved to Dominican Republic two years because of the pandemic. My husband and I climbed Pico Duarte early March of 2021 for three days and January 1 I did a 9 day trip to Pico Duarte. OMG that was incredible. Not easy at all but incredible. Try the short trip for your first time going to Pico and prepare for the cold temperatures, like zero degrees and lower in the early part of the year. So that’s my recommendation different to try here in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴. By the way Pico Duarte is the highest point in all the Caribbean.
I love yuo guys. You are the type of tourist that anybody willl love to host..I am very happy that you're in my country... Love seeing your genuine enjoyment of what my gorgeous country has tp offer. My Dominican Republic is beautiful all around. My people really are. Happy to have you. Again people like you that are not just showing girls anatomy and trying to find only the negative in my country. Like everywhere else life happens. But none of the cities of the D.R. are among the 50s most dangerous cities in the world...thats a fact. My country has lots of very wealthy people. Just gi to my hometown San Francisco de MACORIS you'll see amazing homes. And we don't even have beaches or anything like.. Again stay and enjoy my beautiful land as much as you want...🥰🥰😎😎😎😎🇩🇴🇺🇲🇩🇴🇺🇲

Hi, so glad you’re enjoying your stay in Jarabacoa. You should go to Constanza which is also a mountainside area in the province of La Vega. You will love it there. 🙏🏼🍀💕

This video was very informative of Jarabacoa vibe! We met you in Cabarete and said hi on the main street! I am glad your channel is doing great! Your videos are really well done and good quality! Happy for you guys! 👍👍👍
Wowww! Amazing video, my favorite place in DR. JARABACOA!, I wish more people took a chance, away from Punta Cana, and all the highly curated all inclusives and wandered into pure unadulterated nature like you guys just did. Thank you again for highlighting such a beautiful part of DR.
Jarabacoa, one of my favorites places in the DR. The DR never stop sorprising me!!! Dominicans need goods politicians that cares the country. I am addictive to DR.
Guys I love all of you videos and I admire the type of life style you have chosen. Just one little piece of advice from the bottom of my heart is for you to limit the “I did not expect to find this or that in the Dominican Republic” I know as a fact you mean not harm, however, some people may interpret your comment as if people are still riding horses as a mean of transportation or wearing loincloth as the native people did. Besides that keep rocking the DR and thank you for showing the world how good and beautiful the DR is
Corazon de Jesus is my favorite BBQ Azado in the world! You guys are so lucky to have enjoyed. Best meal will be Hamaca De Dios/Aroma De Montana the view, the food, the service! Please check into it and post from there! I'll definitely be watching! Also it's kinda worn down but worth the entrance fee, check out "The River Club" in Jarabacoa. We got married in Las Guazaras last April with our whole family! If you stay back in the area we highly recommend staying there!
So much beauty! You've been in North (Puerto Plata, Samana), and the southeast (Punta Cana) of the country. Have you thought about going southwest? It's very different there as it is very dry, you could go to Las Dunas de Bani (the Dominican desert), Enriquillo Lake (the biggest lake in the Caribbean), and Bahía de Las Águilas (that beach Is justo stunning!).
Love the restaurant. the ribs, chicken, sausage, yucca, rice/beans, etc. And the great views. Already wrote down the name for our visit next year. Tks.
Agree with you that when you are paying more, you should get the expected stuff like a coffee maker, more drinking water for a couple days, at least, etc. Thanks for advising viewers. Beautiful place but not enough! That happened to us, this year in San Jose del Cabo airbnb... no full kitchen as advertised. Missing a plate/dish drainer, butter dish, decent kitchen towels not rags, etc. The owner then said, we expected too much..... yeah!
Jarabacoa is beautiful, I agree with you about the airbnb rental, it is not hard for them have couple of botellones de agua, salt, pepper, dish wash, etc.
try to go to Constanza, it's close to where you are and it's a very nice town, you can see the rose farms and the candy stores. Also try to go to Valle Nuevo, it is the coldest place in the DR, it is a bit of extreme tourism but it is super fun!! Valle nuevo is in the middle of a nature reserve so mostly you have to camp, but there are some hotels
Love this video. It’s known amongst Dominicans that if you own a villa in Jarabacoa you are wealthy or must come from a very wealthy family . As all Affluent Dominicans it’s a status Quo to own a mountain villa. Instead of a beach house we prefer the mountains as it’s cooler, quieter and very secluded! If you get a chance you need to check the Dunes of Bani… it’s like a dessert type of climate and I believe there’s a salt mine. There’s a lot of history there going back to Trujillo and even further back when the Spanish brought slaves to DR.
Beautiful! You should visit Constanza and the national park of Valle Nuevo, you’ll be surprised of what Dominican Republic has to offer take a jacket by the way 😄. can’t wait to see more of this videos aside from the beaches.
His again guys, showing this video again to my daughter in-law Kalya who is Japanese ❤. I forgot to mentioned that you should visit JAMAO ADENTRO it is absolutely stunning and lots of water and terrain sports. How can we make contact to rent the Japanese villa. Thanks . Keep having fun. Hugs
They probably dont keep the villa stocked with coffee etc because the guests steal it. You'd be surprised. We had a villa in Juan Dolio that we kept fully stocked with coffee, sugar, water, shampoos, sunscreens etc etc and the guests took everything. That villa looks really nice and I definitely want to try that restaurant. Im glad i found your channel. I hope to be back easter week. We have an off grid container house on the south coast we are in the process of getting ready to Airbnb. You might want to check it out when its ready. Free of charge. Also I recommend Zona Colonial for some great dining and sights if you make it to the capital. Enjoy. Oh and definitely have to get some Arepa while youre in Jarabacoa and a queso en hoja.
We've been to Santo Domingo (and filmed it of course). It's such a fun city. Who knows about the coffee haha. Send us a link to your AirBnB when it's ready! - Trevor
Go to Valle Nuevo, for this time the temperatures usually drop to 0 degrees centigrade and it has a very peculiar vegetation, It is located in Constanza.
Also in jarabacoa there was a big migration of Japanese in the 1950s most move back to other countries or back to Japan but, there are still Japanese families mix Dominican by now and jarabacoa is the coldest place in 🇩🇴 FYI Valle nuevo
Beautiful place!!! So unique love it. I have a villa that is getting ready for Airbnb, it is located in the beautiful town of Cabrera, María Trinidad Sánchez province. if you guys ever think of doing a video around there with me know we can work on a beautiful discount for y'all!!
Wow! My favorite word today watching you guys. This area is positively gorgeous! Keep on exploring, enjoying and sharing...Watchung has been tge next best thing to being there with you. Thank you so much! 💓
Jarabacoa houses are mostly from wealthy Dominicans from Santo Domingo and Santiago, it’s one of the most famous vacations spots, specially in the winter. But they also have a lot of foreigners living there.
Gracias for your visit to Jarabacoa. Believe casserole was either made from mashed yuca or malanga (yautia). Suggestion: visit Las Calderas de Bani Dunes and Salinas salt mine.
Wish you guys did a collab with Danny Rivas TV since he's a jarabacoa native who runs around in a 4 wheeler. He knows all the cool spots in jarabacoa. Anna the sausage is called longaniza. It's eaten at just about any time 😂😂 Love ya guys!

Also rentals, most villas are just being rented out. Many regular, "middle class" dominicans rent one for a weekend.
That area including Constanza has a community of Japanese Dominicans.
That’s so interesting. We really luv the area! 🤗 - Anna

- Trevor
Another great video, Now you must go to Constanza. It's even colder than Jarabacoa.
We hope to get there in a couple months! 🤙 - Trevor
Hi guys, great video. You have to go to the Gran Jimenoa, Jarabacoa country club and Rancho Baiguate, those are great places too.
Kudos to you guys! You broke out of the DR-youtuber-mold...DR is more than beaches and hotels!
It so is! But we still love the beach 😅
This was Delightful. Many thanks to the commenters for the background info.
Thanks for watching SS! - Trevor
Looks amazing and so relaxing!
It so is Rosie 😀 - Trevor
I recommend that you go to Constanza specifically to Valle Nuevo and also to Bahía de las Águilas and Playa Frontón in Samana
🤗

Oh no... not again yikes. Stay warm - Anna
Yup AGAIN! Although here in Cape Breton, we haven’t had much snow this winter (at least in River Bourgeois) thus far.
@@janicepottie802 Yes my folks in North Sydney have said the same thing 😀- Trevor
What a feast!!! And what a dream stay! Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
It was so much fun up here in the mountains. Very different from the beach 🏖- Trevor
Wonderful mid-week surprise!
Woohoo! 😁
Go to Valle Nuevo, for this time the temperatures usually drop to 0 degrees centigrade and it has a very peculiar vegetation, It is located in Constanza.
No thanks! haha... that's why we left Canada 🥶- Anna
Delightful Travellers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for visits my country
Also in jarabacoa there was a big migration of Japanese in the 1950s most move back to other countries or back to Japan but, there are still Japanese families mix Dominican by now and jarabacoa is the coldest place in 🇩🇴 FYI Valle nuevo
Valle nuevo belongs to Constanza

Jarabacoa houses are mostly from wealthy Dominicans from Santo Domingo and Santiago, it’s one of the most famous vacations spots, specially in the winter. But they also have a lot of foreigners living there.
Thanks for watching
Yes it looks like outside of Medellin
jarabacoa is called the switzerland of the caribbean for its great resemblance to that country in the landscape and very low temperature !
We can so see the resemblance Alfredo 😀- Trevor
Constanza is the one called like that, not Jarabacoa
Astonishing place.
Gracias for your visit to Jarabacoa. Believe casserole was either made from mashed yuca or malanga (yautia). Suggestion: visit Las Calderas de Bani Dunes and Salinas salt mine.
So much fun running into you guys the other day on the beach! I wish I had a car but don't really feel comfortable driving down here - Kevin
It was great running into you as well Kevin 🤗- Anna
Desde Los Ángeles 👍😎
Me encantó!!! Really loved it!
🥰
Wish you guys did a collab with Danny Rivas TV since he's a jarabacoa native who runs around in a 4 wheeler. He knows all the cool spots in jarabacoa.
Anna the sausage is called longaniza. It's eaten at just about any time 😂😂
Love ya guys!

Another great video!!! Love the villa!! I think I would still need to be down where it is warmer though.
It does get quite cool at night. Most of us northern folks would definitely pick the beach first 😀- Trevor
