She has not booked a teaching job in 15 years but watches the Oscars every year in hopes that a nominee, that she hasn’t ever met, will thank her in their acceptance speech.
Me too lmao it got so boring at one point that I just wanted to leave the video and look at the comments, but I kept reminding myself that this is caitlin and she is acting
there's an air of kindness despite her unfortunate situation she seems like a genuine person behind her melancholic exterior, probably the most sane Caitlin character
Yeah, this one's just mildly eccentric in a way that's endearing and enjoyable. And maybe she's right... Maybe it's not all about the IMBD, maybe it's about the friends we made along the way?
He teaches highschool theater at a public school outside of houston. Just for context. Weirdest fucking guy. One of those “wouldn’t be surprised if he had a scandal with a student” types.
'I get asked quite a bit', in context: "Hiiii I am so excited to speak to you! I am an actor of sorts!" "Oh? Really? Cool, I don't think I know you... Have you won an Oscar?" 😂😂
I actually think this character's a lot nicer than most of Caitlin's others- sure, she's bitter and unfulfilled, but she seems to genuinely care about her students and encourages them, and that's something
OMG, she was in one of the film school projects my brother did two years ago! She was in the supporting cast! Such a pro! So, my brother told me she was also offering this acting workshop in NY, so I went because I've always wanted to be an actress. Her workshop "No Acting, Please!" had a great blend of Stanislawskian meth-OD acting, non-sense memory and pre-birth trauma channeling. She also told me she worked with De Niro in Heat... kinda hard to spot, but she's one of the extras in the bank they rob... somewhere in the background she ducks under a table pretty quickly, you have to freeze frame, but it must've been an amazing experience working with De Niro. I hear she does online coaching now and again, whenever she's not working as a pre-school English substitute teacher. I remember, during the workshop, when working a script or a scene, she always used to say "First, get to the N.O.W.: need, objective, want"... or was it W.O.N? Anyway, seeing her here brings back memories.
I can’t tell if this comment really is about Caitlin or if it was a very clever made up back story for this character 😂😂 I’m going to google this now...
I've never met this kind of person, but I feel I know them. That is why this woman is just so good. She makes you feel like you know these people personally. Where is her OSCAR!?
Cool you did a longer one! Oh God, where to start with her! I love her holding the fake Oscar, petting it with her fingers while she talks. The matching glasses and scarf were a nice touch too! But her whole personality is a classic!😂👏👏
I feel like I’ve seen your name before in comment sections but I can’t remember where 😂 do you comment on Objective Personality videos by any chance? Either way, hello 👋
How is it that every single one of her characters is so convincing like I literally believe that she is each person she plays every.single.video. That is what you call TALENT
:) Somebody must've already acknowledged the beautifully implicit reveal of the character's hypocrisy ("Success isn't only on IMDB," followed by "[Jessica Chastain] was nothing then..."). Hilarious, exquisitely delineated, so rewarding of our attention, as always.
Very true! It’s mostly about connections and on rare occasions you can break through without connections. But lots of hard work for many years very frequently will not bring success. 🥀
At some point you need to find a way to find meaning and happiness in your life outside of it and outside of your own ego. Otherwise your are going to end up like the character in this video.
Lmao I kind of feel her pain a bit even though I don't act because it just seems like such a hard industry to get ahead in. I feel like anyone who's able to support themselves through acting has more or less made it, because even just getting to that point can be crazy difficult.
I love that as a stage actor she would not even get an Oscar, but got awarded a fake one by her dead friend. (Did she kill him? We will never know.) "Success is not always on the IMDb" is a true fact and something we all need to remember. Daily.
Not in this field, but oddly enough, there are prototypes of these people in different fields. I worked in TV news and also as a teacher, and that was pretty accurate with what I had to hear.
You nailed it girl. I love making fun of the arrogance of the industry. We all need to not take ourselves so seriously and stay a bit humble. Love the longer videos. The short ones are good too but it’s fun to see the longer ones.
The three different words that all mean the same thing, the oversized glasses, the “I have been saying this for years”, it’s all there and I love it so much
The only thing missing is the weird flex about how she got famous for her knockout role as “Woman Feeding her Cat” in the blockbuster Purina Cat Chow Campaign
You are so good at seeing how full of shit people are and making wonderful satires...this is deep humor ... so playfully joking about the incongruences between what we show and the truth of who we are. You must have been through a lot to be able to satirize this kind of bs so well! Bravo.
She has not booked a teaching job in 15 years but watches the Oscars every year in hopes that a nominee, that she hasn’t ever met, will thank her in their acceptance speech.
😂😂
You nailed it on the head 🤣🤣
Hahaha caitlyn hearted you luckyy
Caitlin* oops
Why did that make me sad 😭
As someone who majored in theatre, I can 100% confirm the accuracy of this woman’s oversized glasses, animal print scarf, and air of fragility
Preach
Oversized glasses is a must👌
This was a memory I didn't want to unearth...
She has the exact same haircut as the terrifyingly intense woman who ran the after-school drama group I went to.
@@katherinefrost6318 I had a woman like this throw her binder up into the air with disgust when she saw our curtain call 😂
Her acting is so good that I am both annoyed and bored by this video. She portrays the character perfectly!
Omg I was thinking the same’ the acting is so on point that I was like “idc about this woman” really quickly
Seriously! I was compelled to keep watching because it was such good acting but the character is so unbearable that it was a hard watch
The art of the cringe
Exactly, I'm not even in an acting class but somehow I kept watching her videos.
Me too lmao it got so boring at one point that I just wanted to leave the video and look at the comments, but I kept reminding myself that this is caitlin and she is acting
I love how, through adjusting mannerisms and tone, Caitlin can range from 22 to 57 years old.
Also can be male.

@@jlupus8804 probably not. I don't think they have been worth anything for a while now tbh.

Yeah, this one's just mildly eccentric in a way that's endearing and enjoyable. And maybe she's right... Maybe it's not all about the IMBD, maybe it's about the friends we made along the way?
I like this person despite her humongous ego! I would want her to my pretentious acting coach any day.
“I have not yet won an oscar in my career. I have not. I get asked quite a bit.😏” Yeah. Sure. 😂
My highschool theater teacher would constantly bring up how it was down to him and Jim Carrey for The Mask. Sure Landgrebe, sure.

It's not always on the IMDb.
villian origin story
I've never met this kind of person, but I feel I know them. That is why this woman is just so good. She makes you feel like you know these people personally. Where is her OSCAR!?
I'm a music teacher, and have worked with a number of Middle School theater teachers over the years who are just about like this.
In her hands.
The low-key emotional breakdown facing reality before the Starbuck's delusion and the covert desperation in the final. This is perfection
I‘ve never met an acting coach in my entire life and yet I somehow feel like this is 100% accurate
You have NO idea
That Starbucks story coming out of NOWHERE is PEAK acting teacher!!! Lmaoo
She even painted her nails for this. That’s dedication.
As a theatre kid, as soon as I saw those glasses and that scarf I knew I met this person before. Soooooo on point.
I love how she grips the Oscar like shes the one who won it, and is giving her own acceptance speech.
Really fits the character hilariously!!
You need to win an Oscar for this performance 😭

I saw the petting as wiping off years of dust from it sitting on the shelves! 😂
I have a feeling she might want an Oscar. Just a hunch.🤔

Where did you get that idea
I don't know where you got this idea, the success is inside, she said it herself in a 100% genuine tone. /s
the expensive scarf, the expensive spectacles, and that karen look. perfect.
Jesus, the hair, the glasses, the scarf 😂 I hope you win an Oscar girl!

It's the not so thinly veiled bitterness that really sells it for me
caitlin has mastered the art of 'trying to speak while holding in salty tears'
