- Alright! I'm not a teacher and i'm a complete amateur so I gave it my best shot. This covers every riff in the song! I learnt it by ear and by watching them play the song live so it should be pretty close. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help! As always forgive the mistakes . Thanks!
Played on a 1984 BC Rich Bich through a Vox AC30 (two 2x12's with greenbacks) and a Rangemaestro Treble Booster
Whole KIMB album is pure rock'n'roll to my ears.
Yeah man! It's got the attitude for sure 🤘
Story time:
This is the song that got me into playing guitar, Around when I was 16 (now I am 18) I was in Spotify going through some of my recommendations, I was listening to a little of Led Zeppelin and Queen at the time, mostly 70’s and 80’s rock and Metal, suddenly I found this exact album, It wasn’t really attractive to me, so I said, “Fuck it” I am going to give a try, and holy crap, KIMB changed my life forever!!
Introducing me to mu 2nd favorite band, (Just behind Black Sabbath)
I have been playing for almost 3 years now, I have made a lot of progress but I am not stopping there!!
I have to learn much more!!
Thank you for this lesson!!
Right on man! Can't go wrong with Sabbath as a favorite band too. I'm glad you found the album! Keep thrashin!🤘
Charlie's Hell Hole dude! Your story is the same as mine! I was 16 with an acoustic guitar, had no idea If I would stick to it or not, taught myself chords, barre chords and all the basics, learned zeppelin songs because I was super into them at the time, although sabbath and Iron Maiden were what I really wanted to play. Finally I had enough money to buy a sweet amp/guitar , but on my playlist it was wake up dead and then it progressed from there. I’ve been playing the same amount learning these tunes!
i was in the exact same shoes as you 10 years ago, KIMB changed my life forever. The guitar work is so nutty and melodic, with that thrash jazz feel. definitely never listened to metal the same after that.
Queen II to this album was too good of a connection, I clicked with this album almost instantly.
"ha close enough right?" - great ending of a guitar lesson.
Haha thanks buddy!
Dude that intro fooled me,thought I was listening to the actual song for a second
Orion6966 haha thanks man, I guess that's a good thing!
It sounded spot on to the record.
This helped a ton man thanks a lot! You're a great teacher and I look forward to any future lesson videos you put out.
Hey thanks so much man! I'm glad it was helpful!
very cool sound B.C Rich! good job for lesson.
Thanks so much bud!
Been listening to this album since day one, but never learned hardly any of these riffs, practiced more on their 2nd album peace sells, so i wanted to thank you for your lessons for my favorite of their albums....✨👽✨
Damn this looks fun to play. Only just seen half of the video but I can tell I’ll be able to learn from you. Thanks in advance man. Subbed
Hey thanks so much man! Hope it's helpful🤘
For me, your're the best megadeth songs teacher, thank you so much
Thanks so much man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow the only guitar tutorial on youtube that I found helpful. I like you talk like a normal guy with no other bullshit that I don't understand. Thank you
Thanks so much man! I'm glad you found it helpful! I'm just a self taught guy, when people talk about theory my eyes roll back into my skull haha
11:15 one of the vocal/ guitar lines ever such a cool piece of mustaine brain. Thanks for the lesson
So many cool riffs on that album! Thanks man, i'm glad you liked it! 🤘
@@orokusaki8291 So many good riffs on this album, it's a pity the original recordings were so badly produced.
But it is really difficult to put everything together as they did. These are challenging pieces to play. Even if in the next albums Dave became stronger in the composition domain the riffs of the first Megadeth records still impress me!
@@ThibautKurt23 oh yeah! You could really tell he was out to one up the Metallica guys on those first couple albums. Fast complex riffs and crazy chord changes, and his lead playing was alot more adventerous in those days.
@@orokusaki8291 He really went to his limits in term of technicity, complexity and speed in those years.
Awesome job playing all these old Megadeth songs. I consider myself a pretty accomplished guitarist technique wise but I still find this stuff challenging. You gain even more respect for Dave once you try to play this stuff, he's a hell of a musician. I love that guitar too, I just picked up a Bich 10 myself.
Z PC Thanks so much man! Yeah i still have a hard time learning some of his stuff myself, it's a lot harder than he makes it look! Keep thrashin man! \m/
How you liking the bich so far?
It's pretty sweet, but I literally just picked it up a few hours ago so it needs a full setup yet. I'm going to throw in some Bill Lawrence L500XLs as well.
Z PC awesome man! I've never had any problems with my Bill Lawrence pickups, they sound great for all kinds of music too👍
Thank you so much!! It was really helpful
PS that bc rich is gorgeous
Thanks so much bud! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🤘
Man you rules on these Megadeth riffs! One of best on youtube! Keep doing!
Kristjan Žalig thanks so much buddy! I really appreciate it!
This tutorial is awesome. Killing is my Business and Rattlehead have got to be on the high end of Mustaines most brutal riffs.
MrMetalclay thanks man! I'm no teacher but i'm glad you liked it. That whole album is full of crazy riffs, he definately was out to prove something 🤘
Thank you a lot! Really helpful lesson
No problem! Thanks for watching!✌
you need more subs man, you're amazing on guitar
Thanks so much bro! I just play for fun but subscribers are always appreciated man ✊
@@orokusaki8291 Play and thrashing all around is the most important thing. Stay thrash and thanks for motivation for play guitar!
@@morkeherrer2024 no problem bro! Thanks! 🤘
you sound great, thanks for the tutorial!!!
Thanks so much man!
Subbed your awesome man great lesson and lovely tone fantastic!!
Thanks so much dude! I really appreciate it 💪🏾🤘🏽
Thank you sir
Thanks for watching man!
Great tutorial !!!!
Saludos desde Argentina
Ronaldo Sosa ¡Muchas gracias amigo! Saludos desde Canadá! 🤘
Oroku Saki got a question
Splintter or shredder ?
O found it
Foot clan
Ronaldo Sosa hmmm have to go with shredder! Raph's my fave though!
Thx man
Thanks for watching! 🤘
Dude ! Thanks for breaking down the pre chorus. It seems everyone plays it a little different. The album is hard to decipher the exact pattern. Insane speed.
What gauge of strings are you using?
…..and where can I find a 84’ bc rich like yours?
Glad you liked it man! I used 9 guages here, started off with 13's way back! I had a pretty bad finger injury a few years ago, so I had to switch to 7's. Aside from making small eq adjustments, you'd be surprised how little string thickness matters to your tone, especially with high gain thrash music. Cheers bud!
oroko saki? I´m hamato yoshi! gracias por la leccion!
Cheers ✌ ninja turtles 4 life!
Can you do rattlehead?
Thanks dude
I just got a guitar for christmas and am looking at some Megadeth covers..... There's no way in hell I can play this crazy stuff.
Sure you can! Give it some time. I never would have been able to play Megadeth from just learning guitar for a month
@@orokusaki8291 I appreciate the kind words, but those riffs you play are insane. Quick question why do guys play with 12 string guitars rather than 6 string?
@@ricosalvaje5802 most of the time its because it gives a really nice sound on acoustic songs, but jimmy page used an electric 12 string live for stairway to heaven🤘
How did you get that Bich? Have it since 84? Or did you find one used? I'm so jealous of it, man. You're videos are killer!
David Handshoe thanks so much man! Nah I was born in 88 so it's a couple years older than me. I bought it from a guy in the US in 2008, it had already been modded with a bunch of stuff so I had alot of work to do!
Oroku Saki How are the frets with her age? Must be pretty good if you still play her. I was going to say, man. You definitely looked young, I was wondering how you got that Bich.
David Handshoe thanks man! They're pretty good still, havent had to do a refret or anything. I did scallop the fretboard years ago to help with bends though.
Great intro
Thanks bro!
Hey man , where did you buy that guitar? Looks reeeally good that old school Bc rich Thanks and cheers from México
Rodrigo G hey man, thanks! I bought it from a guy in the US maybe 10 years ago. It used to be a really ugly yellowish color if you can believe that haha. Lots of work and elbow grease! Cheers from Canada \m/
Hi good job on tone ! But I can't convince myself about the notes you're playin : In the verse section the second riff doesn't make any sense to me, maybe I'm not earing it wright.
May you tell me were did u get those fingerings ? Cause I find a KIMB karaoke and we can ear that's not what your playin'.
By the way, great lesson on the other riffs !
Hey man! I learnt it by ear and by watching them play it live, it's probably not exactly right but closer than alot of tabs i've seen.
Do you always do power chords with the pinky? Or do you change it up ie. if you need to do a riff where it uses spider chords you use your third finger?
Oh and you got the bill lawrence l500xl on both neck and bridge?
@@mycustomyoutubechannel2539 hey man! It really depends on the song, i'll use the pinky if I need to. L500xl in the bridge and L500R in the neck🤘
ty for the answer. was thinking of getting the l500xl for my bridge and ill probably go with l500r on the neck too, since seems like it has a really good 80's tone
@@mycustomyoutubechannel2539 no prob man! They're reaply nice pickups, very clear.
Please, play my last words
Максим Кожевников i'd like to! I'm working on Chosen Ones right now🤘
Is your fretboard scalloped?
Hey dude! Yes it is, i went at it with the old file and sandpaper years ago! Takes forever lol.
Is it easier to play, Ive heard mixed opinions about them.
@@ButtahDawgMcDouble it makes it alot easier to bend and for vibrato! It doesnt make you play faster or anything though. You have to watch your finger pressure because its easier to push too hard and make notes and chords gp sharp.
