17 just entered the tornament of power and stole people's hearts, he got a very cool develpment during this saga, and he's doing the same thing in Legends. He just arrived, nobody expected him and he just got number 1
One character that I thought was really well designed was GRN transforming Rosé Goku Black. I used him for quite a long time upon his initial release and I thought that a lot of people didn’t use him that much. His way of applying debuffs and gaining buffs with every card he used made him an even bigger threat the longer he was on the battlefield. I also liked the way they buffed him passively by gaining a full hand of cards rather than getting an extreme stat buff. I think honestly if you give him a few zenkai buffs for a little bit more defense and give him a good support he would be pretty good even today in accomplishing his goal.
I think the biggest issue and I called it before it started is the summonable ultras. I think they really pushed this absurd level of power creep that unique designs and new mechanics don't matter nearly as much unless the unit is insanely busted in tandem. Ultra SSB Gogeta for example, EXTREMELY cool mechanic that also happens to be slapped on the most broken unit currently in the game lmao
Why is no one talking about the GOAT red cell? His revival was so cool and the fact that youd have to get his green card off before he revived was so fun
A unit I’d like to point out is Red EX Gogeta from the second Anni, a damn near perfectly designed EX character with strong support capabilities and pretty decent damage for his time that was a genuine option for Fusion Warrior. Now yes he was damn near impossible to get at a decent star level but that’s more a problem with the rarity then the unit lol
For me its actually the 1st anniversary blue goku both pre and post zenkai The way they handled him (ok damage and defenses early on , and when the defense runs out is when his damage passives fully build up) makes me feels like hes the most comfortable unit to use ( and the double vanish as well)
It’s completely personal bias but I’m putting ultra hit at like 4. I just find him so fun to play and the fact that they worked in an actual timeskip to his kit that’s really good but not absolutely broken is so cool. I can’t even get annoyed when it’s used on me because of how cool it is that they actually put it in the game.
"Hybrids team class of October 2022" is definitely one of the best designed and thought-out teams I mean they didn't all come out together but when Legends brought out Beast and Pan they knew future gohan would fit right in alongside them
I agree LF gogeta blue was underrated but when people started used him more he was good his kit is good he has green card counter he doesn't care for cover changes for 3 times and when he builds up his ultimate damage he can nuke and plus he heals every time he comes in he just needs a zenkai or maybe a unique equipment and needs card draw speed
My favourite is Yel Tapion. I like him alot and still use him here and there till this day and his kit are well designed for striker movie/P.O team. If zenkai unit, i think is was zenkai LF Yel Piccolo or LF ssb Vegeta, they support the team and can tank full combo or rush.
Hey goresh now that you've done the best designed units in the game. It be interesting to see you do the most annoying units to fight in the game's history
I don't think you have to enjoy fighting the character if you think about it if the character is annoying they're doing their job right if they're a lot of fun to play against they're probably quite easy to beat
I feel like Yel Kid goku should be a contender for best designed Zenkais he was the best unit in the game for a good bit and he did everything at the time
Best designed is android 17 ion wanna hear it...I actually feel like an mvp when I use him...tht double vanish suits him very useful as he was in the tournament of power
For me it's definitely green Goku black, card draw speed along side green cards that gives him ki and he gets cards, with a main that also gives him more cards really made him relevant for a long time. and him, red cell, and pur Vegeta had Great synergy at the time when green Goku black was at his best, you can easily get blue cards and green cards with that team.
I honestly agree with the characters u chose because those characters that were mentioned was really the peak of legends in some way, shape or form, and now we're just dealing with some ultras with broken gauges, with the exception of UL hit, it not broken, but it's really good to a person with skill, and also the weird thing is that we also are dealing with most 1% sparkings being better than most recent Lfs, in which is supposed to be the other way around, I just wished we had characters who are really good, but not enough to make the meta change drastically, Lf 17 in example, he isn't broken, he's a good balanced character and a good staple for the teams, we need characters like that and the characters that are mentioned in the video.
I think some contenders could be GRN Transforming Goku Black,YEL Tapion,Zenkai SSB BLU Goku,Tag 4s, LF Full Power Frieza and PUR 17. They all had great designs while not completely destroying the meta and they weren't quite the pinnacle of annoying to fight like Ultra Gogeta Blue,Pan and Cooler
True.. although tag 4s are little bit on the broken side with the green AOE and then non stop combos with element reversal. They're my fav nonetheless ♥️
@@zulqurnainali7150 you could say the same about Android 17 with his buff removal, main lock for 15 counts and Future Gohan's Card destruction on Cover change while also stopping blast cards tho tbh
41:52 Something that is fun to play and fight against. There is absolutely no purpose for a mechanic/character that absolutely makes the other guy feel like dogshit and the user feeling the happiest he's ever been, because a video game is about both of the people playing being happy/having fun, so a mechanic that is fun using/playing around should be neat, not easy to balance, but neat to se nonetheless (which i think will never come up from this game but hey, a man can dream right?)
LF SSB Gogeta was a very well designed unit imo. Not broken but good enough to keep the PVP environment healthy. With a couple of Zenkai buffs he can still hold his own.
I was honestly rooting for that yellow cell to get a Zenkai and he should've gotten over the SBA Goku and I think androids could use a new yellow unit. But I agree with this list
A pretty good designed character was revival Frieza. I've seen him used on tons of teams, his main role is to just use his main before he dies and tank the rush with his revival.his team heal on switch out, and sub count reduction made him pretty good and is still used today and he was pretty fun for me, I don't know what everyone else thinks. Just like Lf first form this guy is basically a staple on LOE, the only thing he needs is a good zenkai buff or another good unit to help him out
If you do read this Goresh could you make an argument for the Zenkai Yellow Super Saiyan Goku from the Second Coming Broly Movie to be an honorable mention? Thought he was a really well built unit all around. Just my opinion so I’d like to hear yours if possible.
I would say that a character that could perhaps fit at least an honorable mention, is Goku Ssj4 LF Post-Zenkai, he is very good, but not unbalanced, at least for me, both using him and facing him is a lot of fun
I think LL 17 is pretty reminiscent of LL Future Gohan in that both revolutionized intangibles and the concept of enhancing any unit/team you slot them with. When LL Future Gohan first came out (along with leader slot) you could slap him on any team as an endurance support option with disruption to where the whole team became just that much better using the additional tools provided. 17 is almost exactly the same as you can run him almost anywhere and the team is automatically better in almost every way thanks to the intangibles 17 is bringing. Overall, the best aging/designed characters are the ones that offer the most universal intangibles. Giving lacking teams a powerful option to run whilst not making the best setups in the game too obnoxious to combat is, while difficult to create/balance, what Legends needs to try and produce more of in my opinion.
you know what is the most funny and common thing between most of the good design units is the fact that people thought that they were underwhelming and mid when they released(not indicating towards rev ui . also to me a good design is a unit with 2 things {1] that supports his team in almost all meta shifts and no doubt the above characters did exactly that or are doing that. and by support i don't mean damage inflicted buffs but other intangible things. for eg lf mvp 17 gives the bulk to eat special moves and ults and gives sustained dmg penetration which helps the other battle members more than we give it credit (2) is not star dependent like how lf gogeta blue or future gohan were
PUR LF Cell should be on the list because his damage crazy espacially against hybrids and he has the 2nd best anti revive which destroys 4 DRAGON BALLS! & reduce all your Ki and Ki recovery which puts you in a very vulnerable state
I must start of saying that the video was great and I’ve no complaints whatsoever on your picks and I agree that these are great designed characters. Only thing is that I feel like you mostly only picked units that where doing some kinda of support or tanking. In my opinion not having any very offensive character is kinda weird, like Red LF Zamasu is one of the best designed character in the game’s history as he had a very clear role in his team. Lasted in the meta for over year and you don’t see that often with pure offensive characters. I cause the only complaint I can see people having is with his green but I mean his role was to have a very strong offensive capability.
Man I still remember when most people including youtubers were dunking on Future Gohan while I was shredding with a PO team and FG splash (before leader slot was a thing).
Good design can be defined differently for many people, primarily because there is a level of objectivity/personal bias surrounding the balance of fairness and effectiveness in a unit's kit. The ability to seal and disrupt constantly may be unfair, but wholly effective at fulfilling a disruptive role - where do you draw the line? Well, I suppose for me it's striking a balance between the intent of the character's kit, effectiveness of tools given to fulfill that role, character's ability to play off-role and finally; skill ceiling and ability to define character mastery. The last point in general can make units much more fun to learn, but these units tend to often get dismissed as "gimmicky" by the community (LF YEL SSB Gogeta, Namek Goku etc.) In a game such as legends, certain generic off-role charcteristics such as tanking, card draw speed etc. are becoming staples of unit design. These aren't inherently toxic, but can be if they allow the character to cover too many bases. YEL Future Gohan wouldn't be very fair if he did great damage, in addition to the rest of his kit etc.
I would honestly love for you to go and revisit the free-to-play trunks as he is still a solid unit and pairs well with the green zenkai. Sparking future Gohan goes to go very well in hand together
Haven't played legends since the Ultra vegito came out and have not watched Goresh since then (sorry homie) and I am in awe that so many units that were meta when I was playing ARE STILL META
I agree the list but for number 3 I would put ultra ssj goku because his plat and ultra ability (15% Afflicted damage per saiyan tag 15x5= 75%Afflicted damage) the only Problem you will have with him is that he can't tank like that so he's just a glass Canon
I think my 5 honorable mentions are Grn Goku Black, Yel Tapion, Vados, revival Cell, and Blu Gokua. Gokua is there because he was fine to play against in my experience and it was always great to annihilate LF Gohan with his toothpick
Dont forget green goku black, I recently fought one paired with whis and he kept spamming green cards for a solid 30-40 seconds continuously , not fun for me but I bet he was having a blast XD
I look at Perfect Cell units in Legends is almost like AGL LR Gohan in Dokkan. Every meta team at the time(i.e Regen, Androids, Future and Powerful opponent) he's always been a strong option also considering he is on a fair bit of tags. I can't think of any doodoo perfect cell units on release.
I agree with all of them except F2p trunks, not because he was bad but because he was very simply designed .My favourite designed character is Lf yellow Gohan
there is no problem with this list and it is very accurate Although, i think that ultra broly deserves a spot in the honorable mentions (maybe i am just biased)
Thoughts on YEL Zenkai Goku from Broly Second Coming and YEL Tapion? They both felt really strong for the time they were released and fulfilled clear and important roles for their team
Glad Beast wasn’t on here. As much fun as I have with playing with my 6* version of him, I hated fighting him the 5 days after his release where I didn’t have him. I literally felt like I could not win if the enemy had Beast Gohan.
A Good designed character in my opinion is the one that doesn't sabotage the opponent's game. And at the same time ensures good perks here and there. UGB USG MUI LF Cooler are all broken and sabotaging. USV was a lil bit better idk. Ssb Goku&vegeta Tag was really balanced too. GRN goku black too. And 17 obviously is incredible
Before watching.. i expect beast gohan, gogeta blue and 17 to be some combination top 3. Edit: Well i was wrong. Really surprised beast wasnt here on how his kit is literal perfection
@@bonobo276 Nah man. I sure loved those times when Zenkai FSK solo’d literally every single character in the entire game, including VB who is a blue character 🗿
Revival Gohan is well designed in my opinion, sure revival mechanic can be annoying, but I love how he has like a second awakening when he revives. I also dislike 17, him plus Roshi and revival goku is extremely annoying to fight. Especially when Roshi seals someone and you have to play the game with 2 vanishes versus 4, it makes it very tough to catch them in a combo.
@@theuigoon7579 That’s fair hybrids is a broken and unfair team and movies is pretty annoying as well, but I really like revival gohan individually as a character, even now
I liked the video, but would’ve preferred if you had been more specific on how exactly each character lived up to their placement and how well each ability you brought up matched your values, rather then just saying which things were well designed and attaching a seemingly arbitrary placement. Anyways, for my own honorable mention, I’d have to go with Ultra Hit for being the best designed ultra character in the game. I don’t feel like anyone thought he was overbearing or underwhelming, but he’s still very good without being extremely popular or ubiquitous like other ULs. The time skip requires skill to use and to play around/counter, and hitch keeps fighting Hit fun for both players.
I just know mui was crazy when he first came out I’m a f2p and got him 9 stars if they gave blue vegeta a little bit more love they would of been a deadly combo but I got top 10 k as a f2p on my older account just because of the team I built around mui
a good designed char is a char that can lift up allies and not only depend on damage / tanking, that's why many char with longevity is support char or have some supports in the kit
Before I watch the video now: GRN Jiren is the first character that i think about when talked about Good Designed. Cover Null, Cover Change, good animations, and his damage was good. He was simply good. Sometimes i use him for fun, even to this day. I enjoy him since years and will continue to do that.
In all seriousness I thought ultra super gogeta was going to be here sure he was annoying to play against but he was pretty fun and had a very long run all the way up until beast Gohan
I agree with your list. The only difference I'd have is LF Future Gohan as #1. Also GRN Transforming Goku Black should be on the list. Longevity: Was used for over a year after release with no downsides. Role: offensive attacker with self-sustaining aspects. Fun-to-use: Even though he had the capacity for long combos, he had no cover change
1. Beast Gohan 2. Lf gogeta blue 3. Lf tag blues 4. Red Broly movie frieza (idk why) 5. Lf Green Trunks 6. Cooler movie Goku 7. Ultra ssj Goku 8. Mui Goku 9. Lf Blue Trunks 10. Lf Bardock

Bardock looking at longevity like: 👀
Dont forget green goku black, I recently fought one paired with whis and he kept spamming green cards for a solid 30-40 seconds continuously , not fun for me but I bet he was having a blast XD
Top 10 hypest characters on release would make an interesting video
I look at Perfect Cell units in Legends is almost like AGL LR Gohan in Dokkan. Every meta team at the time(i.e Regen, Androids, Future and Powerful opponent) he's always been a strong option also considering he is on a fair bit of tags. I can't think of any doodoo perfect cell units on release.
I agree with all of them except F2p trunks, not because he was bad but because he was very simply designed .My favourite designed character is Lf yellow Gohan
Monthly reminder that I’ve been playing since 2nd anni and FG is the only LF (besides blue
-> UI now) that I haven’t pulled.
Man i love these videos
there is no problem with this list and it is very accurate
Although, i think that ultra broly deserves a spot in the honorable mentions
(maybe i am just biased)
Thoughts on YEL Zenkai Goku from Broly Second Coming and YEL Tapion? They both felt really strong for the time they were released and fulfilled clear and important roles for their team
but they didn't last long right or not I don't remember cuz tapion sure didn't
My goat future gohan aged like fine wine
Zenkai SSJ2 LF Gohan surely had a good design
You meant ‘toxic’ design?
@@bonobo276 Nah man. I sure loved those times when Zenkai FSK solo’d literally every single character in the entire game, including VB who is a blue character 🗿
very nice to start the video with Hit staring into my soul
I love lf yellow ssb gogeta. Especially his ult nullifying revive and his cover change special cover (3)10 sec immunity
Valiant choice in not picking red buuhan for number 1. Goresh knew buuhan was too op to qualify as balanced
I just used that blue Toppo on a Universe 11 team in the last Battle Royal for Rival Universe tag. Got 10/10 wins and the gold title.
Without watching i already except Future Gohan on n1 😂😂😂😂 he's too good
Calling it:
Number 1 is future gohan or mvp 17
Great list but you could have put some other units like zenkai blue ssb goku or transforming goku black
Guys, don’t forget my boy Red Bojack. Bro did everything. He was very well designed to fit his team and has a really unique transformation mechanic.
Bido
Revival Gohan is well designed in my opinion, sure revival mechanic can be annoying, but I love how he has like a second awakening when he revives. I also dislike 17, him plus Roshi and revival goku is extremely annoying to fight. Especially when Roshi seals someone and you have to play the game with 2 vanishes versus 4, it makes it very tough to catch them in a combo.
I would agree but he came out when his team was uncounterable and he became a literal god without reviving and when he did revive you already lost
@@theuigoon7579 That’s fair hybrids is a broken and unfair team and movies is pretty annoying as well, but I really like revival gohan individually as a character, even now
@@taljaw8140 same during beast meta ran him with broly and pan and rolled the unfun hybrids
@@theuigoon7579 Yeah you right, he’s good on son family too tho
Weirdly feel nostalgic seeing Cell. Hopefully he gets a decent zenkai.
I'm still surprised that the PUR Future Vegeta loses his damage after a bit. I know he's mainly there for support, but why lose the damage?
You should do the most TOXIC characters in this game like hero Hercule
I agree with your list. The only difference I'd have is LF Future Gohan as #1. Also GRN Transforming Goku Black should be on the list.
Longevity: Was used for over a year after release with no downsides.
Role: offensive attacker with self-sustaining aspects.
Fun-to-use: Even though he had the capacity for long combos, he had no cover change
I think an underrated best designed character is the zenkai blue goku that came out with the zenkai for green broly
1. Beast Gohan
2. Lf gogeta blue
3. Lf tag blues
4. Red Broly movie frieza (idk why)
5. Lf Green Trunks
6. Cooler movie Goku
7. Ultra ssj Goku
8. Mui Goku
9. Lf Blue Trunks
10. Lf Bardock
Yo
This a cool one
