- This is the best sound that I could achieve, unaided. It was also my first time trying to apply everything that I've been studying, and everything I've been shown about mixing and mastering. I'm looking at you Skymix.
There is an immediate comparison of the two that goes on in our brains. You'll notice that it is a bit different than the one from the animation. I think this might turn a lot of people off from it. And if you don't enjoy it the way that I do, well, it won't hurt my feelings. You're allowed to like whatever you want, right? and besides, I made both of them so why am I even writing this little disclaimer...? I'll shut up so you can check it out. God I love the organized chaos of this track. It's like stability is trying to form, only to get pulled back time and time again giving way to yet more madness, it's a descent.

Its unreal knowing that the tracks from 10 years ago and now are done by the same person - you and Krinkels both keeping improving so, so much from those early days of Madness. Your sounds are as much of the action as his animations, never doubt that.

It’s crazy how mastering a song can make it sound so different.
It really is. But it's like a pandora's box effect. I'm not sure if I'll ever leave a song not mastered. We can perform a test. The next MC song I make, I won't say whether it's mastered or not and then watch the comments.

between cheshyre and locknar in madness combat songs, i feel cheshyre is a more "reach your destination and kill anyone in your way" and locknar is more "kill everyone for the sake of it"

In my opinion, this version is much better. You actually learned something about mixing and mastering. The song is fearsome and epic; it’s a successful addition to your main list for the Madness series. I also noticed the melody from “TrainMadness” at the end; that wasn’t incidental, right? So anyway, you didn’t disappoint me!
Thanks a lot! I really tried to learn something. I mean, Skymix has been teaching me a lot about why certain things are done and how to fix things. He's very thorough and very patient! I also spent weeks taking notes on tutorials, manuals, videos, podcasts... Anything I could get my hands on. And I'm so happy to hear that it made a difference! I have so much more to learn and that excites me. Thank you very much. Oh, and I couldn't have found a better atmospheric train sample. I didn't make the effect from scratch, so I feel kind of like I cheated, in that regard, but I'm thrilled that you noticed! Cany0udance also commented on that in one of our conversations. All of you are so perceptive! It's a shame that you can't hear it in the original version. I think people would have loved it. Just another reason to master these songs. It's in the OG version, you just can't hear it.

Thanks! It took me a long time to figure this one out. This is one of those songs that I wish I could work on forever, but I know that too much of something good can ruin itself over time. I appreciate the comment.
It’s fascinating how cheshyre is able to make such catchy beats for every song he does for madness, like, I don’t know anything about music composition, but I’m sure it takes a hella lot of patience in order to make something like this

This version definitely sounds more cinematic. It's amazing how useful mixing is for enhancements.
It does sound a lot different, and I do think I like the original a bit more. However, I did notice some clipping in the original that you managed to fix here, so well done!

@@Lothyde All the times md bones said, also some at 0:49, 1:04, 1:24, 1:31, 1:35, 2:12, and 3:49. I'm no musician or sound designer, so I don't even know if "clipping" is the proper terminology here, but I hope that helps.

It's wierd Sean, at first I find that song really different from what you usually make, and a bit odd. but the more I listen to it the more I think it's one of your greatest song.

It really kinda sneaks up on you. It doesn't stick around in one place too long and it changes drastically from one extreme to the other, kinda. I mastered it so that it felt like it was actually all around you, like you can hear it in the back of your head somehow. I didn't change much and cut down some of the more speaker crunching distortions, but not all. It has to be a song wrapped in barbed wire or it ain't madness.

I know nothing from nothing about the production of music; thus, I cannot praise specific parts about this song. However, I have been listening to your music ever since the beginning, and once again I find myself questioning: how can music be this good? Seriously, it is an absolutely unholy symphony of madness. I do hope they play such legendary tracks in hell.

I just came across the Madness Combat universe and I was deeply impressed by the power of the music used in this universe. The soundtrack of the animation was so catchy that it stayed with me for days. When I curiously searched for the name behind this music, I came across Cheshyre and came across the song MC9.5. This music is like the definition of perfection. Every note and rhythm combines so perfectly that you find yourself lost in this intense atmosphere while listening. MC9.5 is a track with high energy and deep emotion, which fits perfectly into the Madness Combat universe. Every detail I discovered about Cheshyre's music amazed me even more. Also the MC952 is very nice. Geometry Dash doesn't have good music like this, man!

I quite like the mastered version and i think the best compromoise would be releasing version you have as-is upon release and then releasing your "definitive" master version afterwards, so that it's a compromise for those who want MC version and those who'd like to hear version you're most comfortable with

I actually kind of like the other version better, but obviously, this is incredible as well. Can some music expert explain to me what the main differences are in more technical terms?
I’m no expert, but this is close to how it sounds when he is listening to it on its own, but the exporting process/RUclips’s compression, screw with it. I don’t know what trickery he did to make this sound closer to the og but here it s.
Think of the remaster as a polished version of the original. More sounds sound alot cleaner and they peek out of the mix more (For example apart from the original you can hear the bassdrum alot more and it doesnt really interfere with other sounds as it did in original.)
Remastering requires some work with the EQ in general. Thats why the sounds sound more "visible". Lots of producers do remasters to just fix some problems and issues with the mix in the original version.
I think the beginning of the original is better, but the later part of this version is better, but that's just my opinion.
Discovered you through Madness, now I'm staying for your talent. Your work has only gotten better and better over the years and you really cant get your sound/style from any other artist. Never stop making these amazing head-bobbing beats Chesh
I really like the breathing at 2:08, that's personally my favourite individual part of the song. I also like that you're using more melodies now too. This direction is really good I think you should keep experimenting with this sound.
