  • Today it's a Strat style guitar by Fazley. These are REALLY cheap, maybe the cheapest I've ever tried. But are they worth it, or should you perhaps get something a bit more expensive? A lot of people have recommended that I check out these guitars, so here it is.
    I hope you enjoy!

    Elmo, since I respect you so much, I'll take your word that this guitar is not very good. The only problem is that the way you play makes it sound FANTASTIC! That whammy bar stuff, overdrive section and the clean playing was AWESOME.

  • @MBA380Aviation
    @MBA380Aviation 7 месяцев назад +3

    So I wouldn't agree with the negative criticism in general.
    In terms of sound, it definitely does what it's supposed to do. I've had poorer versions of supposedly renowned own brands from well-known mail order companies for a lot more money and even had to realize that the thing was actually completely crooked.
    As far as the general workmanship is concerned at the price, you shouldn't criticize anything, the final price probably comes from somewhere, but improvements don't help with often more expensive replicas, so I could live with that and what needs to be fixed is just invested in.

    Excellent job as always sir! This one pretty much met expectations 😁👌
    The Fazley "Phynica's" (sadly now discontinued) were practically Jet Guitars - Made in the same factory same specs, same team, different logo's.
    Before they discontinued them they we're blowing out the FSST720's (Jet JS400) for £56!?! - I got 3 of em 🙈
    The Fazley Sunset series Dawn HSS looks interesting (comes with Gig bag! 😜) Roasted maple neck, 2 point trem, Graphtech Tusq nut...
    A few of them are currently discounted to £104 atm 🤯
    I think I might have just talked myself into grabbing one 😂🙈

    So, a few months ago I bought Fazley Startist Plus as B-Stock for 120 Euros. I'd say this was good bang for the buck, but all in all I feel like the new Fazleys are not on par with like Harley Benton.
    The old ones were just killer, as they were 1:1 Jet guitars with other logo on the headstock for half the price, while Jet already were insane value for the money.
    I used it as modding platform. I changed every single piece of hardware, installed a Jackson Dinky neck and sold the rest of the thing individually.
    I got 25 € for the loaded pickguard, output switch and backplate. I got 10 € for the tuners and 25 for the bridge.
    I sanded down the neck and gave it a new oil finish, did a fret job and threw in 1:19 chinese locking tuners worth 15 €. As it already hat a graphtech TUSQ nut nothing to be changed there.
    There are interests who want to buy it for 60 €, but it turned out so good that I'm thinking of installing stainless steel frets and using it on a guitar that I really love but don't like the neck profile...
    I think if you want a playable instrument out of the box you're better up investing 50-150 € more, but if you know how to use a screwdriver and where to buy good value for money hardware in China you could get a very playable instrument with a investment of 120 € (like 80 guitar, 40 bridge and Tuners) and a few hours of time. And of cause you already have to own all the necessary tools. So... just buy a better guitar if you have the money.

    Nice review. I also saw a review of their LP version. It LOOKED really cool, but that’s where the positives end. In fact, the company sent the reviewer a replacement, and it had the same grounding issues, razor sharp frets, etc that the first one had. There are too many better options out there without spending a whole lot more money.

    Fazleys are a but like Harley Bentons, the really cheap ones can be and often are awful, But go up in price a little to say 150 Euros plus, and they are a whole lot better, go above that to the 2-300 euros level and they are awesome.

  • @Barbarapape
    @Barbarapape 10 месяцев назад +2

    There is a certain price point at which it is just not possible to make a good new guitar.
    And this one proves it, i have tried the entry level guitars from most brands, a few you can
    upgrade, but in the process you double it's original price and still end up with a meh guitar.
    Excellent advice to look at the used market if funds are tight, but take an experienced player
    with you to ensure you don't buy a bad sample.

      I bought a 80 Euro fazley Telecster to start playing and my teacher (old friend and guitar builder for 20 years) was shocked how good it is for the money. His student bought a Fender Player and he had much more work to do on that thing. I have no idea how they can do it for such prices, but it's not all crap.
      I wouldn't know, I am just a drummer^^ - but I can trust his expertise. If I can't learn on the Fazley, it's not the guitars fault he said xD

    • @Barbarapape
      @Barbarapape 10 месяцев назад

      You can have good and bad samples of guitars at any price point.
      If you are lucky to buy a better than average sample at a low price then you have
      saved a lot of money which can go towards an amp.
      Re Fender, they have always struggled with quality issues, finding one without
      poor fretwork is not easy.
      Best of luck learning to play, a good tutor can maker it easier.@@couchcamperTM

      @couchcamperTM 10 месяцев назад +1

      I don't know the Fazley Strat, but I bought the 80 Euros Fazley Telecaster and it is a wonderful instrument for the money.
      A friend of mine is a guitar player for 30 and a builder and teacher for 20 years and found no flaws. only the last three frets close to the neck needed a bit of file work, nothing he doesn't have to do on much more prominent guitars. The pickups are not the most expensive ones, but they deliver, the intonation is great, the tuning is stable. He said it's better than the fender Player his student just got. (7?? Euros)
      I remember times when a playable guitar wasn't available under 800.
