Thank you for keeping the REAL dance alive and passing it on to your daughter. I have seen in reality shows a lady and a kid dancing anything and calling it Odissi just because they wear the costume and jewellery. We need more people like you to show to the world how graceful and divine Odissi actually is 🙏
Now, I understand why it's called "A woman is fulfilled within her daughter and daughter tents to complete her mother by her footstep"... Truly A Rich Parampara of a strong relation of 'Super' womanhood...!!!
We are truly blessed to have rich cultural heritage. The young girl has mastered this art at such an young age is mind boggling. Kudos to her teacher for paasing on this ancient art to GENNEXT.👌🙏
Soulful & graceful performance. One of the viewers Pawan wrote "Divine Duo" and I do agree with him. Their peformance connects with HIM (Almighty). God bless them. Proud of my indian culture

Ms. Sonalika, I am learning Odissi , being inspired by yours and Shrinika's beautiful and such graceful performances. ❤️ Thanks to you two for introducing me to this beautiful dance form.
You are so right.... It is Odissi. We have 8 classical dance forms in India. Of which Odissi is the most ancient classical dance. Since it belongs to the state Odisha, the name of the dance form is Odissi. Here we wear the unique Tahiya on our bun. Tahiya is an inspiration from the Tahiya worn by Lord Jagannath. We also wear an unique jwellery at the waist called the Bengapatia or Anta pati which is inspired from the kinkini worn by the Lord. Seeing these 2 elements on a dancer's picture will confirm that the dancer is an Odissi dancer. Again when you see the performance live or in a video you can find the controlled body movements with technical use of foot work, eye movement, neck movement and the movement of torso which are moved in like flowing water.
The kid's face is specially crafted by God for odissi dance. Feel like watching Durga Devi
