I was having a bit of a down day, today. Then I saw the alert for the Bush Bee Man and my heart lifted. You always make me smile. Thank you for that. I'll be smiling the rest of the day.

I do believe you might need a much finer mesh for this. Maybe overlay that same mesh a few more times at a different angle ? That would make cleaning it a bit of a hassle though.

That wax is such a beautiful golden colour! How do your bees manage that?

Nice job Bush beeman! :) I was thinking to make life easier, if you put all the old comb/wax bits into a large coarse cloth fertilizer bag (tie it up with wire) and put that into into the big pot, push the bag down below the water level with an old round metal barbeque grid or something similar (you can put some bricks on top or heavy metal bar to keep it pushed down below the water the water, drain the majority off and the slum won't block up your tap. Afterwards fill it up again with water and boil it again, it will boil up through the bag extracted even more wax from the slum (the melted wax will rise to the surface in a big cake.) Only dry waxless trash is left in the bag and then it's easier clean up too i.e just remove the bag afterwards and tip into the compost heap :)

Make a cone shaped fine mesh filter and attach it on the inside under your current large screen… cheers.

I have wax to melt down, hopefully I don't make a mess like last year.

I pour mine thru a 600 mesh stainless steel filter. Can buy in on a roll. Cut with scissors and make your own in a funnel. Zero crud in the wax.

What about a hot wire to get the shit bit off the bottom of the wax cake ?

Hi Bush Bee Man. . .
If your making Stuff out of Shit (Your Quote for Upcycling !) And Referencing Old British Telly (aka Benny Hill.)
Maybe when the Wax Melter Strainer and all gives you 'Beaut Wax' you can make yourself "Four Candles" ! Or in Finding x4 Legs (Scrap) you really needed 'Fork Handles' !?
Reference to the "Two Ronnies" in the Iron Mongers / aka DIY High Street Shop !
One wanting x4 Fork Handles, the other saying here you are Sir 'Four Candles' ! 😆
    I'll let myself out. . . 😎

We built a wax melter. We don’t have much wax yet.
