Niamh Kavanagh will be representing Ireland in Eurovision 2010 with this entry "It's For You".
This isn't the first time that Niamh has entered Eurovision for Ireland. In 1993, she led Ireland to victory with the song "In Your Eyes".
She is hoping for another success story with this song. Will this be a double for Niamh?

Niamh your just absolsutely brilliant keep it up!!! your finally bringing hopes back into our eurovision dream of 8 wins!!!!! if this song doesnt come top 5 in the final then it has been robbed !! the modulation bit at the end will be unreal on the light on a huge stage in oslo!!! and for anyone saying that Ireland and Norway are the same there wrong cause theres one huge difference one can sing and the other cant!!!!!!!

Even it is typical Irish pop ballad I have great respect toward Niamh cause I am fan of their culture and dignity that is similar to mine.
Are you cracked his voice is brilliant and the song is brilliant,the first line of the chorus of our song (Irelands) and the first line of the chorus for the Norway are exactly the same, I love both songs even if they share some some same notes.x

The more I hear it the more I like it. It just hit me though that the first two lines in the chorus sound very much like a very popular old Irish song but bring it on Niamh, Eurovision parties all round.x

@Kulkulan Scandinavians tend to vote for their neighbours. I remember the Norwegian audience of the Eurovision final cheered for Iceland and Denmark more than other countries.

Unfortunately Ireland has ended up in semi final 2, which is the toughest with the favourites Azerbaijan and solid entries from Sweden, Israel and Croatia to compete with. Semi final 1 would have been a breeze, but I hope Niamh gets through...

@1iceland well, i'd say it is most likely so, because real music is not appriciated in eurovison those days. People expect something different or controversional, not to mention that southern countries keep voting for each other.. also there is very many southern countries in eurovision nowadays and their musical taste is very different from ours. Another reason is that in most of countries usual ppl vote, not musical experts like back in the old days. Means that teenagers vote the most...
@Transdragtite I love this song as I said but I also love Norway and I'm seeing why they are so alike in melody and I'm not the only person to say this, it could end up being a problem for Ireland but I hope not, vote Ireland into the final even if it has a twin song ;-)

It is a pity we didn't get farther, it is because we don't have neighbouring countries to vote for us! Ireland has won the Euro Vision more then any other country, but when they brought it in so that the public could vote we started losing

the lack of points for this song goes to prove that the Eurovision has turned into a political competition, with countries voting for their neighbours and for countries they are allies with.... its a shame really!
