That's why I stay home and turn off anything with football on it. Went to a tailgate with my dad and uncles. They never did that again and I learned how much I hate sports and sports fans. I pulled their coil wires and watched the fun really begin
2:40 Adam must be referring to my brother's first wife. 4th quarter, 30 seconds left, tied 7-7, first down, and we're on their 20. She said, "I'm bored, can we go home now?" Game ended in a tie, and so did the marriage.
"I love 11:00 AM kickoffs..." No Southerner would *ever* say that! If I go to Hell when I die...I'm convinced all the College Football games down there will be 11:00 AM kickoffs...
Sort of on the fence on this one. I like the 11:00 kickoff if I'm at home and the game is at my house. That way everyone leaves by 3 and I have 1/2 the day left.
@@janecohen1756 oh when I marched, ours was 5:45 for attendance and 6 to actually start gameday rehearsal. Go Blue! But since I live in the South we root for every Midwest team unless,we're playing each other....and of course joint rooting against Penn State and Notre Dame.
Except for the way he was dressed. I have never heard a Bama fan act like any team, outside of the conference needed to be dissolved for them to have a chance, especially the last 15 years. Heard many that wanted Notre Dame dissolved but not because of fear of competition. We respect the hell out of Ohio State but thinking their sudden non-existence is the only way our team wins a title, the most unbelievable thing in this video. I am fully aware of how arrogant that sounds but I have been around too many fellow Bama fans to pretend it is any different.

Agreed. There are plenty of other times to get married. Just not September through January until the championship game is over...also wait until march madness is over...also wait until bass are off the nest.....but dont wait until it gets too hot if you want an outdoor wedding.
Adam is like what I heard long ago watching a game at UC Berkeley, before the Jeff Tedford era: "Y'know, I heard that if Cal loses to Washington State, then Keith Gilbertson is fired as head coach . . . *Go Washington State!"* I can totally see Adam saying that.
I remember when the Seahawks went to the super bowl the first time. I was spoken to about my language. My now ex husband just looked at me and said that he didn't know I liked football.
My Dad went to an Ole Miss game while we were moving from Louisiana to Mississippi and he had crates of roosters in his truck bed, The roosters started crowing when he parked.
Southern People the last frontier for comedy. Only people that can be joked about and you don't have to worry about getting in trouble for offending them.
If you you aren't dressed in Purple and Gold and eating grilled boudin and fried shrimp po'boys while shouting Geaux Tigers, then it isn't a legitimate Southern tailgate party.
Once at the UF-UGA game in Jacksonville I was wearing my school’s hat (no football). A Bulldog asked who I was rooting for. “Man, I’m here to party with the winners and console the losers.”
Doesn't seem right without Matt (read his community post), but it's funny as heck and I haven't seen Talia do one of these in a while, so this was great!
Went to Chicago to visit people and went to a watch party for the local alumni of my school (it was an away game, I miss weddings for home games). Guys there were watching the game and said they were in town for a wedding. I said "oh a Sunday wedding?" and they said "nope, today at 5."
1:23 - Sorry to tell ya'll, but that whole thing about "If this chain of events happens, we're in the championship game" bit is older than I am. I have fond memories from being in the Arizona State University Sun Devil Marching Band in the early 90's, and some of them were fellow band members doing that exact same thing. It's not a Southern thing. It's a football fanatics thing.
Adam is wearing the wrong gear to have made a statement like "if a certain team didn't exist", then we might have a shot at a title. The rest of the spiel was on point, about needing team A to beat team B and team C to beat team D, just because of a untimely loss during the regular season a la Iowa State beating Oklahoma State in 2011, Iowa beating the aforementioned OSU in 2017 or the near miracle plays in the Arkansas-Ole Miss game in 2015. Bama fans are not afraid of any other team, to the point of arrogance, especially in the last 15 years. I do hear mild concern about certain matchups but never "no way we could beat team E". That is no disrespect to the example he used, Ohio State gets a lot of respect by the fanbase but thinking, "no chance", not going to happen. Hell, going into the SECCG last year, there were grumbles of concern, especially about the Bama OL but never did I hear "we can't win>" I know, it is a comedy sketch but the best comedy(like the rest of that particular spiel) has a ring of truth.
2:07 - Heh. Cute. My friends and I used to chant far ruder things during game. We were a classy bunch. (My high school had a reputation of being ... um ... dangerous? What a frickin' lie that was. However, the pom squad my senior year did take a can of gasoline to burn a T into the field of our rivals... during the week we were playing them... at their school. Yeah. Did I tell you we were a classy bunch?)
Pretty sure besides Georgia Alabama and once in a blue moon Auburn who else does anything ever? I know it's a great conference but let's talk history (current especially) and real results.

Think about when Manchester United is playing that one team that they really hate. That's what Southern college footbal games are like. Plus,on game day, the stadium becomes the state's 7th largest city.
