Everyone says he is a crybaby, but can we really blame him? He was born quirkless in a society where almost everyone has powers. He was being bullied because he tried to help his friend to get up after he fell into a river and for just not having a power to the point of being told to kill himself, He almost got suffocated by a sludge villain and And even his idol, that was supposed to be an inspirational figure and that Deku followed his whole life told him he cannot become what he always wanted to be, a hero.

Deku just never faced the reality of toughening up. Yes he toughened up in U.A but throughout 14 years of his life he was never told to not cry. Plus he’s in a world with superpowers where anyone can beat the shit outta you because you cant protect yourself. He never had anyone except his mother to talk to, and his mother never teached him “to not cry”. But he is a very brave hero.
