    Apparently the "German Cockroach" is from Bangladesh. It was the Swedes that gave them that name. They came across on shipping from Bagladesh to Germany in early trading.

    Yes, we do have around 450 cockroach species, some which we need others we don’t, they are sometimes known as politicians 😉😂 This was as usual a really informative video.
    You really really a fabulous source of information. I love learning about our diverse country.

      I used to own Madagascar hissing cockroaches and I loved their little mating dance. They would wiggle their tiny butts so hard all the while letting out tiny hisses. So its fair to say I love rhino roaches

      I've found some in Sydney too, bit smaller than the ones in the video but still far larger than any smoky brown cockroach. Pretty chill insects. Some places sell them as pets, thought it might be possible they're escapees?

    I was disappointed at first that it wasn't about rock wallabies or cockatiels, but this was fascinating!! I really enjoyed it. I did have 3 questions, how long do these guys live for, do they have male and females or are they hermaphrodites, and how common are they, do regular every day people see them in the bush in there range or do you have to go looking to find them? Cheers 😊👍

    • @WickedWildlife
      @WickedWildlife  2 года назад +6

      Glad you liked it mate!
      Have you seen our video on Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies?
      So these guys live around 10 years, have distinct males and females and are fairly commonly encountered in their natural range just after rain
