That's what i love about this, Josh Foster in this performance gave us Josh, he understood the assignment, never tried to do or outdo Spanky, as a matter of fact i didn't think of Spanky once watching this video even though i know he murdered the original back during the G.A. "Stand Out" era (did you know the song is older than the Stand Out days even, Tye & G.A. were performing that song as far back as the "Life" era 2003-04), all us former kids and teenagers remember that moment rewinding the DVD to figure out how Spanky did those licks lol. Nevertheless, Tye Tribbett proves again he has not lost not one bit of his signature genius touch to music, and restored the glory of a lot of our childhoods with a modern revamp of this classic, we needed it bad considering what the aftermath of this pandemic has been like, you know you are a legend and timeless genius when others can play your sound years after you've created and introduced it. I just have no more words, all i can say is Josh Foster has a new fan in me for smashing pumpkins in this video!!!!!! I had to rewind and replay this too many times! Job well done sir!
If you don't have the chops and placement like this, just say that man. Clearly he played the groove and put fills where they needed to be. This playing isn't typical
