BillyYouSoCrazy I heard this song when I was 7 or 8 years old and it changed my life before I was a little demon but after I heard this song something clicked and I turned into a guy that just wants to help people I'm a ex volunteer firefighter and now I'm still stopping to help people just like Joe
Between the pauses and talking to us it's easy to miss things like that so no worries. Also I'm glad this song was recommended, I haven't heard it in years.
I am a HUGE Clay Walker fan and this song here helped me to make the biggest decision of my life, and that was to keep my daughter when I was pregnant.
Back in the day, you'd be known for wearing your heart on your sleeve. Good thing then, good thing now. Another one by Clay Walker is the song, "Then what?"
Billy. I love that you’re not afraid to show your emotions. It honestly gives me hope in the future and in what our generation can do. Edit: I’m also around 26
This song came in 1999...man, I can't believe this song is 20 years old. Anyway I always liked this song. This is real country music. You don't hear country music like this anymore.
"This is why I fell in love with country..." is the purest thing. It is raw and real and about all walks of life. Country western got such a bad rap being all about cheating wives and broken hearts, but it has always been so much more. Take Hank William's for instance. This man lived in constant agony all his life from spina bifida. So a lofty of his songs are dealing with that and his needs for drugs just to get through life. He just wrote it in a way more people would relate. Brad Paisley's This is Country Music sums it up perfectly.
A year or so ago, my wife was about an hour away from home, when she got a flat. It was getting dark, so I jumped in my car, and was speeding to her. She knows how to change a tire, but the lug nuts were too tight. About twenty minutes later, she called my cell phone, and said a man and his wife stopped, and he changed her tire. He said if it was his wife, he would hope someone would stop to help her. I think about that night, every time I hear this song. I've never met this couple, but I'll be forever grateful to them.
I've just discovered you today cos of this song . I've been singing along this song and I feel like being human is possible and the kickbacks are enormous. Joe didn't refer to any religion for what he did . He was just human and the chain of love got back to him. Thanks Clay Walker. Love from Kenya.
It's the little things like this. Helping a person with a flat tire or broke down that I absolutely love about living in a small town of 622 people. Everyone knows each other and we are all family. If someone needs help someone finds a way to help.
My dad in law told me this story about when my husband was real little. His wife didn't drive, and generally walked to pick Alan up from school, and back, but she'd take a taxi during bad weather. They ran into this scruffy looking kid, and Alan said something to him and his mom ( who has always been a little offstandish ) told him not to talk to strangers. Alan said " That's not a stranger that's our taxi driver. " ( He was maybe 6, 7, years old )I guess the young man had been dealing with hard times, and Alan just being sweet and innocent pulled him out of it, cause he cleaned up real nice and would drive them for free a lot of the time after that. but yea, eight words, and a life was changed.
The other day, my boyfriend and I were going through the drive thru and in a spilt decision, we decided to pay for the person behind us. Their order wasn't very much, but it felt good knowing that we did a good thing for someone else. I love helping people whenever I can and I feel more people should do it as well, but like you said, we live in a different world now and not everyone is trustworthy.
This song describes my grandpa. He's always stopping to help people and his favorite saying is kill them with kindness he believes there's good in every one
I am one of the rare people who genuinely wants to help people. No matter what the cost... And I will admit it has come back to bite me in the arse a few times. But I believe that every interaction we have with another person leaves a mark on them and on us. I organically am the person who smiles at the people on the street who most people shy away from. I treat them like people where most people don't. I have to believe that just as that interaction filled my soul with light and faith in humanity it did theirs as well. I have pulled over on the highway to help change a tire, I answer people in the grocery store who ask me where something is, and I have even opened the doors to my home to what amounts to complete strangers when they had know where to go. I really enjoy your reactions, they are so genuine and I appreciate that. Also thank you for your service and as always for sharing your life with me.
I love your reaction. BYSE is one of my favorite Billy's. Several years ago my aunt, mother and I got a flat on I-10 eastbound between Lake Charles, La and Iowa, La. There was no way for anyone but me to change the tire, and it's not that easy for a woman to get those lug nuts off. We watched as a car passed us, took the exit, turned around. Didn't think anything of it until the same car pulled up behind us, and three large men got out of the vehicle. How some people may have been afraid of what was about to happen. I was just thankful they were there. All three were smiling as they walked up an and proceeded to ask me for the back handle, so they could finish what I had started. I was so very thankful, and offered to pay them, or follow them to fill their tank, or Anything. The tallest kind of scary looking man just smiled at me and said"No ma'am, it is our weekend to serve the Lord by serving His children. ". To this day I think of those men and pray that others were blessed by them.
I have taught my boys to turn around and help anyone in the side of the road, never let them take a dime. Too many times being stuck waiting for help to arrive.
My Mema is in the early stages of alzheimers. She was going to an appointment and she got lost. She pulled over and couldn't find her phone to call for someone. She was crying and a younger woman came and asked if she was ok. My Mema told her no because she got lost on her way to an appointment. She asked for help and the woman told her she should have stayed home and called her a crazy old bat. Then she walked away. Heartless! ... Thankfully the doctor called my mom because me Mema hadn't made it to her appointment. Mom called Mema and she heard it. She managed to find her. One more street up and she would have been at her doctor's office. ... I sincerely hope no one ever treats that young woman's grandmother that way.
I can't speak for the rest of the world but I know that here in Missouri where I live people still do this stuff. I myself had a flat tire in the middle of a thunderstorm on the side of a pretty busy road and we could not get the lug nuts off but this nice gentleman stopped and helped us.
At my first job, I worked at a truck stop/sit down eatery kinda place. I had only been there maybe a month, and wasn't used to working while also getting my time of the month. The stress of the new job had made it come early for me by about a week. So I wasn't prepared and had nothing. I was in the bathroom, crying, because not only was I emotional at this time, but also not able to have the stuff I needed. I brought food in for my lunch, so I had no money with me that day for one reason or another. A woman came into the bathroom and told me she'd buy me what I needed. I didn't even get her name, but she gave me enough to get me through the day, having bought the expensive stuff that we sold there. I was completely speechless. I was raised to do kindness to others, but I'd never had a complete stranger help me like that. It's been over ten years now, since that woman helped me. And I work in retail, as a cashier. One day, a person in line didn't have enough to pay for their stuff. I'd already talked to them as I was ringing up their items. They were telling me how they wanted to get something for their kid. I don't make much working there, and I only had a ten-dollar bill. But, I was willing to cover the cost so the person could have all of her order. However, as I was reaching into my pocket to grab my wallet, the person behind them pulled out some money, and the person behind THEM pulled out money. Then the person third in line, after all of that gave me a five dollar bill and said to keep that for the next person who needed it. Inspire random acts of kindness and never stop putting love and kindness back into the world. If you want to see a world where people can care for each other, then be the change you want to see. Be kind to each other. We are brothers and sisters, family, no matter where we come from, we can be so much more than what we, humanity, are right now. I was completely stunned. And the person who first brought the money out said that seeing me be willing to offer to help inspired them, and the person, also a complete stranger to help someone else. If you feel it in your heart to do a kindness for someone else. No matter how small. Do it with your whole heart, and it will always come back to you. I've given my last five dollars to someone so they could have gas money and then the next day someone came in and handed me 10 dollars saying that they'd won the lottery. I'd never met the person before and I haven't seen them since. Don't do it because it comes back to you, do it because you genuinely care and want to help someone else. I promise it will come back. Not always right away, but it will be rewarded to you.

This song is mine and my husband’s motto. We try to continue the chain of love any chance we get. It makes me smile every time this song comes on.
Joe is the guy who helped the older lady with the flat tire and is also the end lady's husband
I've always loved this song and story behind it!
Good to see you BYSE!! One of my favorite songs brings back tons of memories where I was when I first heard this.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh wow! I did miss that
I love this song, I remember hearing him do it live in concert years ago
Love, love, love Clay Walker. He was part of the late 80’s early 90’s Country greats. Although diagnosed with MS, he kept going. God Bless him.
Clay is making new music and going to be going on tour again
