I originally purchased the i5R, thinking it would be awesome because it was an Olight. Then I came across the green pokelight for $19.99 with a $5 coupon. So, $14.99, and it is now my go-to small flashlight. I also hate that the Olight uses a proprietary 14500 and will only run on 250 lumens with any other 14500. The CRI is far superior on the Acebeam. You can use any 14500, even the Olights. It has mode memory, which the olight does not. It also has 3 modes I use the Olight at work because I don't care what happens to it. My only real complaint about the. acebeam, is that it uses batteries way quicker than the Olight.
I have multiples of each, i switch between the two for edc, I like both equally. They are secondary carry as I edc a warrior mini daily mostly and occasionally another 18650 size. Best feature of pokelit is the tint of beam for sure.
My copper one has a different beam pattern and the tail switch is smoother, but it is noticeably heavier than my aluminum one. The copper one has become my home table light, and the aluminum one is my edc. I stretched the tail switch spring a little to make it harder to activate, and carry it in my back pocket next to my wallet without the clip. Half of the color has worn off but it’s a tough little light. And being rechargeable, no more buying batteries.
It's good to see you are still making RUclips videos dude, I used to watch your stuff like 12 years ago and it's good to see that you still do it. You still make real RUclips videos that don't have click bait and cringey edited photos.
Good review, for simplicity I carry the streamlight microstream AAA. The only function is in or off, no modes to have to mess with, extremely durable a decent battery last a long time, around 4+ hours constant run time. I have used them for many years now and even dropped one out of the boat while it was on. Water was very murky and it took me 30 minutes to find it and it was still on.
Great Video, as always. Coincidentally, I just had the Cu model dropped off this morning. Fun fact, and totally discovered by accident, the tail cap, on the pokelit, is reverse threaded. It totally comes off. Keep up the great content!
The acebeam seems to be better in every way. Not sure what the runtime comparisons are. But a nice low, a better price and a way way nicer led tint. Thanks for the comparison I'll definitely look into them.
@Ace King Well that is what the video is about and for comparison's sake it's something to compare with. So how is the runtime not good with the Pokelit?
@Ace King The Pokelit's output is 200 lumens more than the Olight's, so yeah, it's going to have reduced runtime on turbo, especially considering the high CRI LED in the Pokelit isn't as efficient as the cool white one in the Olight. I have a Wurkkos TS10 and while it's a nice light, I wouldn't put much faith in it's reliability, nor in a lot of Sofirn's offerings. Not to mention the TS10's runtimes are probably even worse than the Pokelit's. Lumintop's reliability is spotty too in my experience and Thrunite is no better than Olight or Acebeam really.
I had a acebeam pokelit for about 2 months and it failed catastrophically it didn't turn on but got so hot it burned a hole through my jacket. The treads were also cheaply made and shitty. So i got a olight and its waaay more premium feeling the threads are smooth and refined and it works and doesn't start fires.
Great video man. The olight has a weird battery. It doesn’t work in normal 14500 lights. They only work in the plights. Don’t know why they did that. But love the acebeam. The acebeam is neutral with high cri so like them better than th olights. Olights have bad color temperature.
@@gammarayburst4763 They do have a high CRI i5R available, it's no Nichia, but for an Olight, it's pretty good. Sadly in Olight's world, lumens and different colored bodies is what sells, not light quality.
@@floyd2386 I know they don’t focus on that yet they will eventually. I have been telling them for the last year to focus on it. That why they just started dropping colors.
@@gammarayburst4763 They probably won't, they really don't do a great job at listening to customers. I've been telling them that for years, they then pick out crappy high CRI emitters to do a limited run with them and when nobody buys them, they think they're right not to offer high CRI lights.
That high CRI LED in the Acebeam alone makes it so much better than the standard Olight. I can't stand the standard cold, green LED a lot of companies use.
acebeam salmon color is a thing as thats the company color pokelit all day for me as for can use any battery, the UI especially mode memory and of course the price
call them if you have prime they will give you a discount or refund for a month or 2...just stay on them about it and tell them your not getti9ng the service they offered even though your paying for it...
Yeah the Lumintop has a totally worthless clip that's both too small and too stuff. Also the switch is very touchy and it's way too easy to accidentally bump it and switch modes when it's on. Beam profile isn't as nice either.
Can anyone tell me flashlight which has max. lumens 150, but runtime on high mode will min. 10 hours, and with 2 or 3 mode. I will thankful if anyone give me a sign.
Don't forget that the acebeam has a standard 3.7V battery, while olight needlessly put a proprietary 2.4V battery in theirs, and normal 3.7V don't work in the i5R. Olight is weird. And that 2.4V Battery at 1420 mAh = 3.4 Wh. Whereas the 3.7V Acebeam at 920 mAh = 3.4 Wh. So the actual energy is the same for both batteries. Don't get me started on how superior the tint and CRI on the acebeam is...
Nothing happened with Thrunite I still enjoy testing and using their great flashlights you may have missed an older video where I talk about how those videos go onto their own channel now not mine..

I finally got one and i got it for $16. It went up shortly after. I lucked out. Thanks for the review.
Nice comparison. Going to give Acebeam a try. I would have liked to see you weigh the copper and aluminum to see how much more it weighs.
I have the acebeam rider rx titanium. Awesome light. I love that it tailstands
I love the Acebeam Pokelit-AA!! Great light for the price.

I love my copper pokelite, plan on buying all the colors as well
Those are good. I like the Reylight LANapple which is also 14500 and AA. It has a warm high cri Nichia 519a led and many different output options.
I have Reylight's Pineapple Mini as well as the Reylight made Vosteed Rook, both are very excellent options.

It's cheaper for a reason
