That looks really nice. Can’t wait to see it.
Thank you for the detailed walkthrough! Great video. We just bought a standard size in Green with orange theme with Annex. We are looking forward to setting it up for the first time soon. The only challenge that we foresee at the moment is the height of the tent as we have it mounted onto a truck cap. So the tent sits quite a bit higher than on most factory height SUVs. But I am sure that we will find the workaround. 🍻
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Just got this today for less than $2K with the annex. Don't need to buy a fancy batwing awning nor a privacy booth. A bonus I did not realize is that I can still use my Buddy Heater by leaving it in the annex.
Thank you for the detailed video! This was VERY helpful : )
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing to me how many people complain about the setup time not being "instant" but completely gloss over how much better the tents features are than the tents that setup quick. So they'd save 10 minutes but have a bad sleep, have to carry extra mattresses (outside of the tent) and have a LOT less light and interior room.
We really like these ROAM tents. They have a lot of extras that other companies sell as optional.
Like those 3" thick mattresses.
Thank you so much for this video i was putting my awning poles in the tent first then trying to go into the hole with it and it was difficult lol
Glad it helped!
Thank you for the video…very helpful 👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Just ordered it
Awesome! They are a nice RTT.
Very nice 👌
If you lay out the annex first then when you unfold the tent the ladder will be inside the annex and you can just zip up the three sides
Nice tip!
Awesome update... I just purchased this tent locally, I hoping to install my rack today and the tent this week. I’m going out the 11th.
Do you have to take out the porch loop everytime? I thought that was just separate when it ships
Yes, the porch loop needs to be installed and then removed and stored each time you open and close the tent.
sise colse?
Can you store your bedding and pillows in it once it's closed?
You can leave bedding in place as long as it is spread out, not lumped up in one place.
Thanks for the video, but iKamper looks infinitely nicer to setup and tear down.
Yeah for 2x (and greater) the price. Not worth it at all.
Infinitely? Hardly. Easier? yes. However there are a lot of nice features in this tent that the iKamper doesn't have. First this sits nicely between the overly small Skycamp Mini and the overly large Skycamp. iKamer really missed the target in sizing those tents. Secondly the Vagabond has a lot more space inside, more windows, covered struts, 3 side awnings, a fully enclosed annex and a lot more space inside to store bedding when closed.
Not to mention the vagabond has an "infinitely" better mattress setup than the iKamper does. The only advantage of the iKamper over the Vagabond is setup/tear down and aerodynamics while driving.
@@santiagodraco Totally Agree!!!
What are the dimensions of the annex? All I could find online is it’s packed size
We put a request in for that info from them.
I'm thinking a clamshell would be my preference.
Me too, but almost twice the cost of a standard RTT. With these already being $2k, that's a tall order. This seems to be the nicest one on the market though in this class. Tons of standard features, I just ordered one.
@@luderchris3 i definitely like this setup, but at my age, just looks too tedious for me 😏
@@eugeneenslow8563 makes sense. If you have the money, shell it out. The iKampers and Roofnests setup in about 3 mins.
I don't disagree. If cash is no problem, go for it. I have the ROAM Vagabond. It takes me about 6 minutes to take it down without the annex. If I use the annex, add about 3 minutes.
Wait so where did you put the porch hoop
When closing the tent back up, the porch hoop slides into the folds of the tent.
@@northridgenation if you get a chance, can you show where in the folds... We can't seem to fit it in anywhere?
Can you store the annex and window poles inside the tent before zipping it up?
Yes. Just don't fold the annex up too thick.
@northridge4x4 do you know how much the tent weighs? Thanks.
The Roam Vagabond tent weighs 130lbs.
@@northridgenation I just got my motobilt molle panel bed rack system for my JT dropped off to my local powder coaters and can't wait to get them back! Thanks for the excellent service and fast shipping of your in-stock items!!!
@@organicmechanic8170 Great to hear!
@@northridgenation the guys at the powder coaters were really impressed with the craftsmanship and design of the motobilt molle panel system too! Super sturdy tie down points since they attach with 3 bolts per side through the bottom of the bed, I took your tip on the fridge install for the blue give away JT and I used rivnuts to simplify the install and make it a 1 person job! Salute and I love the videos!!!
Is this the xl model??
This is the standard model, the XL is even bigger!
Too bad the video was edited to make it seem like the set up and take down was fast. The video should have been in real time so we can get a real idea of the time.
The Roam tent with annex can be set-up in about 10 minutes total. You get much faster as you practice more out on your trips.
Lol. Seriously?
Takes forever to set up and take down
Yup, that's why it doesn't cost $4000 .
Forever is a long long time. I wonder, would you rather have a MUCH better sleep or a few minutes saved on setup? Yeah, I know.
