I learned that in the early 80’s and probably most of what you teach. When I learned it we were taught that your hand is a knife 11:59 and kicking high is for showing off. Kicking em in the hip pocket or lower that brings the face down to hip pocket level.
Yeah, nobody would try to win an MMA fight in 3 seconds.... This is secret knowledge that athletes that earn millions of dollars for winning fights just don't know about. Stop the cap. There are several high level MMA guys that use variations of these (John Jones, Ciryl Gane, Stephen Thompson), but they can leave you open for a takedown by a good grappler if you leave that leg hanging out there.
LOL this dude is smoking his own stash, must be a Steven Segal student. Need proof, watch him, 1:20 staring at her foot instead of watching hips (where attacks start from) Now watch EVERY single other "kick" he does, not once are his eyes in the right place, always looking down. This is hilarious I just hope everyone understands its a joke and doesn't actually mimmick his terrible technique.
you miss the point, which is not developing particular techniques in this movie but to consider possibilities of reaction, adjust your techniques as you wish
@@drawingslim You have "Excuse" stated, when in actuality I was stating a "REASON". like posted earlier, you must be an 'armchair' martial artist, sitting behind a keyboard.
We called these 'check kicks' and they worked excellent. kept me from getting my azz kicked many times...good explaination here
We have been doing stop kicks for many years, Savate also uses the stop kick, and Thai boxing, it is quite a common technique.
Actually you do see stop kicks and finger jabs in the cage when Jon Jones fights.

I don’t know why 11:59 appears in my comment?!?
I prefer kicking the post leg. It's a stationary target and you don't have to kick high.

He's probably exaggerating for demonstration only...If you were any kind of martial artist, you would already know that.
