- Hello, my dears,
today we are in one of the imperial baths on the island of Usedom.
Ahlbeck was first mentioned in 1693 as Ahlebeck.
The rise of tourism began in 1894 with the construction of the railway.
The approximately 240 m long pier was built in 1898.
In 1908 Ahlbeck received the title of seaside resort. Through the direct train connection
from Berlin, the seaside resort developed rapidly.
Before the start of the Second World War, over 500,000 guests were recorded.
In the 40 years of GDR history, Ahlbeck was one of the most important
resorts. In 2008 the rail connection to Swinemünde was restored
