Bo Nix earns NFL Rookie of the Week award for Week 10 performance vs. Chiefs. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Broncos' rookie quarterback has added another accolade to an already impressive initial campaign. Bo Nix has won the NFL's Rookie of the Week award for his Week 10 performance against the Chiefs. Nix has been nominated for the award five times in 2024, but his Week 10 performance marks the first time he has earned the league award. He is the first Broncos rookie to win the award since cornerback Pat Surtain II in 2021 and the team's first offensive player to earn the honor since running back Javonte Williams in that same season. In a narrow loss at Arrowhead, Nix completed 22-of-30 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He also set a new career best for passer rating in a road game, as he posted a 115.3 mark. Nix led the Broncos to a pair of second-quarter touchdown drives to take a halftime lead over Kansas City, and he guided a nearly six-minute drive at the end of the game to set up a 35-yard game-winning field-goal attempt. On a critical third down, Nix found Courtland Sutton for a 13-yard gain on third-and-6 to set Denver up for the field goal. "There are these steps," Head Coach Sean Payton said Wednesday. "There will be some more adversity, but there is a poise with him. I think his teammates in the huddle talk about it. The third-down play was significant because right at that moment, then we controlled everything - the clock [and] the game. It was funny after the game, you're going across the field and I see [Chiefs Head Coach] Andy [Reid] and a few of the other guys. I see [Chiefs QB] Patrick [Mahomes] and knowing him and [he] just turned to me and said, 'You got one.' I think he told [QB] Bo [Nix], 'We're going to have a lot of good games.' That's something coming from him. "We continue to look at the things that he does well and try to feature those things as he progresses into some of the things that he's going to need to do. Yeah, we're really encouraged." The Oregon product was particularly effective on third down, as he completed 9-of-10 passes for six first downs, 83 yards, two touchdowns and a 140.8 passer rating. He is just the second player this season - joining two-time MVP Lamar Jackson - to complete 90 percent of his passes and record a 140.0 passer rating on third down. Nix, who was previously named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October, was one of six finalists for the award. He won a fan vote over Tampa Bay's Bucky Irving, the New York Giants' Tyrone Tracy Jr., San Francisco's Ricky Pearsall, Houston's Kamari Lassiter and the Los Angeles Rams' Jared Verse.
You said you have had 3 super bowls in your life time. Well I saw every superbowl the broncos have played in. In fact I saw the very first game the Broncos ever played. In 1960 I was 15 years old and I went to the game with my uncle that was held in the DU stadium. They beat the New England Patriots 13 to 10. I believe Frank Tripuka was our QB. I had season tickets in the old stadium in the south stands. I was at the very first game that our current stadium held. It was on a Monday night against the New York Giants. It was the season opener and the first regular season game for our new stadium. It was Monday night September 10, 2001. The very next day we were attacked by Arab terrorists from Saudi Arabia. I was 56 years old. I brought my grandson who was being treated for brain cancer to the game with me. We were celebrating his being done with chemo treatments for a while. I will be 80 years old in April. I sold my 4 season tickets in 2009, I had them for forty years. The south stands fans in the last century were known nationwide. Football was a little more fun in those days. The players were easily accessible in those days. I saw the game on Christmas Eve in 1977 to beat the Raiders to go to the 1st Broncos Super Bowl against the Cowboys. Just a little Bronco history from a fan who saw the first ever game. I certainly don’t know when my last one will be but it doesn’t matter. I have had a great ride.
I don't think Bo Nix is quite in the company of John Elway & Peyton Manning yet! Maybe someday but that is a big maybe and requires a lot more football played and a lot more success than anything Bo has accomplished yet.
Yeah I think they found a good role for him this past week. If you keep using him in the backfield then you can create some linebacker mismatches on wheel routes.
Playoffs? Playoffs?! lol let’s not get carried away with ourselves here yet! Now yes I want them to go but let’s go game to game not overlooking any opponent
Broncos the most racist nation in the NFL. They never believed in Russ and he’s playing for someone who believes in him. He’s a superbowl contender this year.
I'm glad the Falcons have to come to play at Courtland Yard this week .I would love to see our boys Don the throwbacks for the remaining home games though. Missing the shot for a long stretch means you cant stop now. You have to make ( The Shot ) more than ever. There it is , H o o p H o o p.

Excited for this game. Go Broncos!
I think having Reynolds back is going to be huge for this team.
I can't wait until Drew Sanders is back with the team full time. He's going to be a defensive star in the near future.
We have less injuries because we have a fantastic Strength and Conditioning group. Ever since we got them we have been amazing
Pumped for this team!

BRONCO GANG!!!!!!!
Yeah but some of those our team injury reports can be fake news to gain an edge I'm glad our team is always prepared for that
What position is Drew Sanders playing since he's back at practice this week? "Edge" or "off ball" LB? Or both?
I think edge, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bit of both, very versatile guy
Edge
3rd person to like 😂I think they should involve Mims even more!
So much more you can only hand the ball off to him.

I hate when we talk about how we are not injured............Nevermind, forget i brought it up.
Relatively...... couple games at tackle and safety. Even Forsyth played fine at center. Inside linebacker might have improved ... injuries been good.
