- Waste not want not. Save the lemon for lemonade. All the microwave needs is a heated cup of plain water to loosen crumbs. - Seniors shouldn't be shuffling along in slippery socks, much less lifting one foot to get the floorboards unless they want to end up in the ER from a fall. - Never use a pumice stone in toilets or sinks as they will take the porcelain finish off leaving scratches that will cause more ick to collect. - Do not use baking powder on pet stains. If the spot is damp, the baking soda will sink down to the floor, clump and the stink is held in it. Sorry, baking soda doesn't eliminate odors unless it is wiped and disposed of. It can't be disposed of when it is under the carpet. - Citrus peels are better dried and used as zest in cooking. They do not kill germs and viruses.
Great video with so many useful tips! Except for the one about slipping socks to dust surfaces (feels a bit unconventional for me), I agree with the rest of the hacks-they’re practical and easy to implement. Loved the Lazy Susan idea and the microwave steam cleaner trick. Keep up the great work!
To easily get rid of hard water libes in toilet dropa few efferent type tablets in to toilet add water over the hard water line, come back severalhours later( overnight) and like magic hsrd wster line is gone, awish & flush!😊
@@ninaotan7811 could you tell me why not please? I quit using fabric softener because it is bad for your washer..and quit using dryer sheets as well because of it being bad for the dryer..so I started using vinegar instead
Make a paste of baking soda and bleach and apply it to moldy grout. Leave it for a while, then wipe it off. That socks thing is hilarious and dangerous. That said, when I was a very young'un, I used to put on an old pair of jeans and scoot along my hardwood floors to polish them.
CAUTION: Using baking soda LIBERALLY on carpets ruined my best vacuum cleaner. And, if you have your carpets professionally cleaned, overuse of baking soda creates a mucky mess.🍀
I don't recommend walking around in bare feet, period. Many people have diabetes and or neuropathy. They may not feel a scratch or cut. Healing is slower and at risk for ulcers. I was diagnosed with diabetes at age 40 (69 now) and always have some footwear on unless I'm washing or showering. I strongly recommend wearing non-slip shoes when cleaning, especially in the kitchen or bathroom, or on any floor you're wet mopping. Shoes with good support help you feel better after being on your feet for any length of time. BTW I have flat feet and chronic fatigue syndrome.
The tips are simple but so effective. Perfect for anyone looking to simplify cleaning.
I work with people have disabilities, please please do NOT wear fluffy socks, especially with polish or wet!!!
How I lost my Dad. Socks on a hardwood floor. He slipped, was injured and passed a week or so later. He was in his early 80’s.
As a senior, I found these hacks incredibly helpful. Simple, practical and easy to implement. Thank you for the wonderful advice
I'm so glad you found them useful!
Your kind words mean so much! I’m so glad you found the hacks helpful. Wishing you continued ease and success as you try them out

Thanks, glad you liked most of the hacks! I will give more details about the sock trick in a future video!
I am shocked you would suggest wearing socks for dusters…awful advice…a recipe for slipping on your arse and breaking bones!
True. Older people with balance problems are fall risk.
Socks for dusting? Are you kidding me? They are too slippery for seniors! Not safe!
Good way to break one's hip.
Furniture polish would make the floors slippery?
Don’t put slippery socks on! That’s an accident just waiting to happen… I can’t watch this any further…
How bout showing an old home without new appliances
Thanks for the feedback! I'll do that in the future videos

Vinegar is a cheap clothes softner
But it also not good for your washing machine

@@joyceclark8163 As vinegar is an acid it can damage rubber parts of the machine and possibly also parts that are not made of stainless steel.

For anything involving socks on hard floors, invest in some non-slip socks like are worn in the hospital.
Vinegar is a cheap clothes softner ...

The sock idea wasn’t that bad. But they’re pretty say don’t put furniture polish on them.
