That wa skind of expected, since he commented that he doesn’t particularly like the Daniel joke.
Daniel was such an interesting concept that would have been really fun if CA wasn't so terrified of actually fixing him to actually be good in any real manner.
giving him regular items + body parts would be sick and pretty strong.
They should have made him absolutely broken at first, then eased off the gas. Trying to make something unique and cool in concept balanced from the get go inevitably leads to disappointment
Of all the characters in the game to allow for a power fantasy, Daniel should have been it. His customization should have been wild and allowed for all kinds of cool combinations by having *everything* be strong once you get to lategame, not this milquetoast selection ranging from "boring" to "boring but strong (upkeep reduction)". Hopefully he'll get a real pass-over sometime.
Realy tick me off when CA keep the Daemon Prince weak in fear of making him too broken, then gives us doomsday devices like Villitch and Azzazel.
I think Daniels lord skills need to be better as his whole faction doesn't have a tech tree
All his bonuses to his army should be global and maybe ease up on how many skill points you have to spend
After that just increase the power of his endgame body parts perhaps tie some super powerful ones to quest battles and then he's fixed.
To get the lose a battle and survive path to glory unlock u can just initiate a settlement siege and then immediately withdraw and even though the game says its a "draw" it still counts as a loss for unlocking the Path to Glory thing

Draw did not work for my playthrough. Tried this same thing. To get mine I had to instantly concede, which made me take some casualties but not lose the army.

Azrik the Maze Keeper has a trait that gives every character -25% winds of magic cost. Norsca can get fire magic even ceaper - my level 13 Shaman-Sorcerer can cast firestom at 6 winds of magic

Daniel should be the strongest lord in the game by far, i really hope they go crazy with him and give him a ton of cool stuff while also being OP like this demon prince is

Third pass. They already attempted to buff him from utter trash...and failed spectacularly.

When I first saw the daemon prince mechanics at release, I assumed he’d be the default one man doomstack. Like surely the character you can fully customise would be the best? But no, just any old generic lord with the right non-unique equipment makes a better doomstack
Daemon Princes of Undivided always have magic. It's actually the only way to get sorcerer lords as Valkia

you can save recruited caster lords in a non-valkia campaign and load them in to get around that.
Daemon princes are really good. I'm really happy with them, they are the powerhouses that they should be.

Best thing about this, is it means playing as the Ecstatic Legion, if you *really* wanted to, you could make three One Man Doomstacks - two of these, one with the Blade of Slaanesh and one with the Sword of Khaine - and Azazel! That's an absolute fucktonne of effort and by the time you've done it you've probably already won the ultimate campaign victory but it's amusing that it is a possibility.
In terms of rating the doomstacks you really should re-introduce the criterion of how accessible / easy to make and costly a doomstack is. This would bring more variance back into the ratings because some of them are really a big hassle to get when compared to others.
That was never a criteria for one man doomstacks though. They were never supposed to be accessible or easy to make; they’re an interesting gimmick, not a strategic way to play the game.
@@Loj84 I'm not aware of a clear distinction Legend makes between one man doomstacks and "regular" ones. I remember that cost and difficulty of building a doomstack were relevant in some of his videos for TWWII.
If it's indeed a completely different thing in his mind, maybe some other categories need to be introduced for either. You are right in that one man doomstacks are more of a fun thing to do instead of being practical since most LLs at least support armies a lot even though you CAN make a viable one man doomstack out of them.
@@Shishakind86 That was only for regular doomstacks. He has never taken away points from a one-man doomstack for the amount of work required to build it, because they would practically all be rated 0/10 if he did.
Have you ever tried making one of these? Unless you're cheating, you usually have to start working on it from the beginning of your campaign and it probably won't be ready for 100+ turns. Even after 100+ turns, it may just be impossible if the wrong LLs get defeated before you reach them. It takes an absurd amount of work to make a really strong one man doomstack.
I personally think they should give "the demon prince" actual equipment slots and then have the demon dress up game done through like ancillaries and rune slots or the equivalent thereof
Interestingly I know that Nurgle demon princes get mortis engine effects so it's possible they might be even stronger
But without Slannash’s blade he won’t be unbreakable so he will have to land and fight the entire army or find and beat Gotrek for his defeat trait.

@@FraternityOfShadows gotrek is certainly where it gets to be too much effort, not only he can be on any order faction he can also jump around the map at that point it becomes too unbearable.

You can see a bug in this video. The skill tree gives the Undivided Daemon Prince Mortal Blow twice, which is kinda useless and pretty disappointing cos it's the unique skills that should be the most valuable.
The slaaneshy DP is probably in third place i'd say. He's actually better for n'kari, because like they do he focuses on buffs and debuffs for your troops.
So with n'kari you can easily mix poison, soporific, charmed, paragon, and another one he has.
Pretty powerful.
Also all undivided ones are fire by default i believe

Hey Legend, i wanted to point this out since i tested it and it seems to be accurate, Forbidden Rod deals Magic Damage, so you can actually negate it with magic resistance, giving you more WoM regen is good for chars without Arcane Conduit.
He mentions this in the video.

I had much fun with my "Swords of Chaos" Archaon approach: Vassal cheese Lords to demon prince status and have only with groups of four lords roaming around. Very tedious to set up though.

AI lost the will to live after crushing the Lords
It's a relief to see a one-man doomstack that didn't have two things:
1.) Sword of Khaine. Any 1-man doomstack should be disqualified if that item is included, because then it isn't about the 1-man at all.
2.) Dwarves as the opponent(s). For some reason, every 1-man doomstack goes against a pile of Dwarves.
I think best solo-demon princes could be Nurgle ones. Nurgle demon prince can regenerate, have unlimited health due to bag in increasing healing cap, have Mortis Engine. He also can cast purple sun, but not the stream of corruption, unfortunately
Yeah, that´s whats bothering me about the DemonPrince of Nurgle, he also loses the Blightboil. Tzeentch loses pink Fire and Final Transmutation. I was looking for a Mod or something that just gives them both full Lores of Magic but couldn´t find anything. Given the Amount of Time you have to invest in getting one Highlevel (cutting their lvl in Half, TWICE)

I don’t know if @LegendofTotalWar ever realized, but you can expand the skills a unit has, so you don’t have to search for the specific skill in the „crammed“ visual appearance
Daemon prince of Slanesh gives +5% global income to the faction (while on the field I assume they changed that to everythinig from Ravenous expansion of Skaven to everything else) and he pasively lowers nearby enemies melee attack by -8 with one skill and then -5 with another so -13 melee attack in an area always arround him total without counting any other items that could lower melee attack.
Warriors of Chaos Daemon princes are pretty damn good, if only Legions of Chaos Daemon prince wasn't a joke id consider doing a run as them
This would be a fun character to fight with but my computer takes ages for any battle to load in so I just usually auto resolve
I feel you, you can lower the texture quality (if you're not a super potato) and it improves them

I posit that like the unique hunt items, The fewer victory benefits that a one man doomstack has the higher it should be rated.. Sure, it's not "perfected" , but if it's as good as perfect before you've trounced anyone that speaks for the submission, not against it.

I agree they failed so bad with the body parts, they had the theme khorne= attack/spellresistanse Nurgle=heath/defense Slanesh=speed/armor penetration tzeentch=magic power/barrier and then make items better and better the more you devoted to the one god. Instead of having som parts that are better at start then the end parts.

if they let Daniel equip he will be much better ....or at least give him proper skill tree or add stat boost in each god skill line ...something like Khorne give melee attack ,Nurgle give melee defense,Slaanesh give speed and Tzeentzh give bound spell or wind boost
I got the sword of slaanesh as seducers of slaanesh, as well as the personal sycophant banner without loading saves a bunch of times, guess I was really lucky

Love the video. Would you be willing to make a video explaining resistances like you did for WHII?
I think resistances are still mostly the same, with the exception of magic resistance which is now only spell resistance.
There isn’t any need for another video. The only difference is that spell resistance only blocks spells, whereas magic resistance blocked magic attacks as well.
Can you get multiple copies of Slaanesh's blade since it comes from Gifts of Chaos? Is this is the first one-man doomstack that you could hypothetically have multiple of in the same campaign?
The undivided Demon Princes are really good for the Ecstatic legion but then so are the Nurgle and Khorne Lords as well, Slaneshi ones sux imo
Legend just press on the ability tab and you can display stats more efficiently
Should the ability to seduce units count as a bonus toward one-man doomstacks? Doesn't matter if your ward save is low if all their magic damage is on your side...
Usually the magic damage is on lords and/or heroes though, so you won’t really be able to do that.
@@Loj84 I mean, usually heroes do have magic damage but like this video showed, lords and heroes don't do enough by themselves. It's only really threatening when there's more magic damage than that, which seducing can handle
@@frankmc8355 Those heroes were very bad in melee though, and Zhao Ming wasn't crazy strong either. I think he was at cap resistance against magical missiles too. Magic melee infantry could just be obliterated by magic as soon as they cluster up in melee.
It would help against monstrous infantry and SEMs with magic attack, but I don't think that's a big enough advantage to make much difference in the rating of the OMD.
Regarding the best vortex spells in the game, would you not consider Infernal Gateway up near the top? It’s always performed super well for me, getting Vilitch to 1.1k kills in a fight against Cathay.
It's actually more costly than Pit of Shades for the same damage - although Tzeentch does have a little bit better access to spell mastery than a lot of shadows casters, so maybe that balances it out.

Still would be fairly vulnerable to certain armies like Bretonnia who quite often field late game armies with lots of melee BvsL magic attacks.
But then for grail knights to skewer him on their lances he should land. Whereas he can just rain merry firestorms from above.

Still waiting for a Festus one man doom stack. I'm trying to make it myself, but I've never done it before. Plus, I am struggling to find a way to not use sword of Khaine. I can get his physical resist up to 55, and missile resist to 40, but so far, best I can do for ward save is 26. If anyone has some suggestions, please let me know.
Do you make dedicated deamon prices by faction? Is it possible to get them as Bel'akor?
all Chaos factions are incredibly op for one man and army doomstacks
Legend, you should do challenge campaigns, with limitations and such. I would like to see how far you can go, and how good you are. If you did them, more would be awesome

Is Slanash blade really that necessary? He still have max physical and missile resistant. Wouldn’t it be better to have a lot of them roaming and seduce a ground unit (or have one in the army) to not lose leadership?
how do you guys get this crown of everlasting conquest all the time? i fused tons of items and never ever got a single one.
Daniel either needs a BIG buff or a full rework.
Almost perfected but not cause he didnt get wurrzag. He's at the physical resistance cap without it already, why would not having it be any reason to take any marks away when having that defeat would do absolutely nothing. In fact it would waste a defeat trait slot becoming a detriment at that point since it would provide nothing whatsoever.
There are a few units that can lower physical resistance so it’s not entirely useless to get it higher. Off the top of my head Luthor Harkon’s missile and melee attack do it.
Legend by this time for so many 10/10 one man doomstacks you may have to change your rating methodology. Because if everything is as good so it turns out everything is average. I guess that the really exceptional one (wo)man doomstack is Valkia the bloody which should be the new 10/10 upper rating while the this one may be a 7.5. I know it may be hassle or sound rude to people that worked hard on creating them, but maybe it gives them a motivation of pursuing perfected versions of them.
I feel like some save scumming has been going on to get all those items too. I'm xx hours in on Azazel and I still don't have Armour of Destiny, the heal trinket or even Slaanesh's blade myself

I dunno but remember you can increase your loot drops with mages scouting skill and by playing a lot of battles, if you want to you can even go after lords that have good items cus you steal one when you beat them.

I had a high Elf fire mage 1 shot my corpse cart from basically 100% hp with Piercing bolts of burning
I know an army that would dump all over this deamon prince. Stone Troll stack led by Wurzag, since they all would have magic attacks and effigy of the git would be annoying thing that would pin him down.

I'm paying they give Daniel another pass. Seriously, having a no-name Daemon Prince being better than him is almost a sin.

My fully leveled Demon Prince of Khorne can't even duel other Legendary lords without 2/3 Bloodthirsters as support, let alone be a one man doomstack 😂

Man WH3 is so easy. Ca must do something immediately. VC is so OP. 4 mortis Engine and just monguhls Crypt Horrors abd sone graveguard. And you can easily defeat 4 full stacks because of the regeneration.
Ya the AI derping out and just not fighting is so lame, CA needs to fix that. OH my gosh ok i think I get why it was doing that. The game considers it SOOOOOO one sided, like you have 0 chance of winning, so it just deactivates most of its units because it thinks it will route you with like 6 archers.
I kinda feel disappointed. Like, the guy just had to focus down enemy commander and two heroes and then enemy will to fight just evaporated, smh AI formed a long single line and just stood there. It's hard to judge how cool this one-demon doomstack is when enemy just refuses to fight back.

Actually, what the AI did here is not a terrible way to fight this. Only putting one, maybe two units on him at a time gives them just as much melee damage as if the whole army was coming after him. And spreading out like this means they take much less damage from magic.
The way the AI normally goes all in on other one man doomstack videos actually makes it easier to kill them, not harder
This one should definitely be docked points for the immense amount of save-scumming required to get that combination of boons and trait. Scaled Skin is the best trait you can get (some might argue the only one that's worth getting... ) but, unless they did something about it in the latest patch, it's randomly assigned when you ascend.

Daemon Prince isn't only weak, he is kinda boring. Tried to play a campaign, but no items, skill tree/reasearch tree meh.
They need to perfect this "build your own lord" concept again and then put it into multiplayer as well. I kinda want my own character in what was originally a role playing game.
I don't get why and how CA hyped the ever living shit out of Daniel, make him an awful character in the ROC campaign and then turn Be'lakor into everything Daniel should've been to begin with in IE whilst not even buffing Daniel.
THE Daemon Prince is seen mainly for the casual Warhammer and Total War players. Not in it for the total destruction power of all these strong ass Heroes and Lords with tons of resistances.
I like the Daemon Prince just to serve my God of Chaos, Khorne.
Sometimes hard to hear constant bashes on the Daemon Prince because he isn't "Powerful".
